Planet Waves for January 2023 by Eric Francis

Today I have the Planet Waves monthly horoscope for January 2023. This group of 12 readings is Planet Waves and Substack subscriber content.

As a kind of ultimate Pisces, you should know that I want to give it all away for free. However, many people — who get paid and deserve to be — have spent the past two days preparing this astrology: two proofreaders, a copy coordinator and illustrator, several developers and a customer service team. Oh, and one astrologer/columnist.

Paid subscriptions to both Substack and Planet Waves include all of my monthly and weekly horoscopes, printed and distributed to the internet in many incarnations worldwide since 1995. If you are a Planet Waves subscriber, this same column and audio introduction has been posted to the My Account area.

Inner Space is Coming Saturday

We are now in the final phase of producing the 2023 annual readings, called INNER SPACE. This is yet another one-of-a-kind, literate, spiritually relevant astrology project from Planet Waves. We are on track to publish these audio and written readings by New Year’s Eve.

Thank you for your continued business, your time and your trust. We are doing what we can to provide some relief to the cortisol-infused chaos of the world. We are most grateful for your support of that endeavor on behalf of the many people we serve.

CAPRICORN — Friday’s gorgeous New Moon in your birth sign is a reminder that you have everything you need. All the basic resources, and the people who might assist, are close to you. And if anything is not there, it’s available with a little effort. This is true even if you don’t feel that way (which would be understandable, given the chaotic state of the world). Most of what you need is within you: the knowledge, the ability, the sensitivity and most of all the energy to do most of what you need and even some of what you want. However, the New Moon — joined by many planets, including Mercury and Venus — is suggesting that you stop and conduct an assessment of your priorities and your goals. It’s critical that you use your energy efficiently, and not waste any on what is unnecessary, or on what you wanted yesterday or 10 years ago. The New Moon aligns with another factor: Jupiter has arrived in Aries to stay, clear through its move into Taurus in mid-May. Take advantage of the potential, the optimism and the substance of Jupiter, which you can draw on like energy from a power source. To do this, the first place to reach for what you need — whether material, spiritual or intellectual — is within yourself. You have it all.

Hello Capricorn Sun and Rising. Want an extended 2023 reading? I will have that for you soon! Check out Inner Space. You may have all 12 signs of written and audio astrology, or purchase by single signs. Full product and ordering info here.

As we were. This is the first intact capture of Planet Waves, from early 1999.

Today is the 24th Anniversary of Planet Waves

On winter solstice eve 1998, I posted the first Planet Waves website. This is a short audio telling the story of how that happened.

Update from the Kitchen, Monday, Dec. 19

STARCAST for Monday, Dec. 19 2022 — same content as on Substack. View Chart

THE KITCHEN is busy here at Planet Waves. Currently I’m working on two projects related to the Capricorn solstice (Dec. 21) and Cap New Moon (Dec. 23). One is a special horoscope that covers these charts, which I’ll have Thursday, and the other is a STARCAST podcast that is now posted above.

Eric Francis

Astrology news of the day is that Jupiter is moments away from entering Aries, where it will be for about five months. Jupiter will sweep clear through Aries, making two important conjunctions — to Chiron on March 12, and then to Eris on April 23.

This will highlight two high-potency factors that are taking the long, slow journey through Aries and give us a look at what we might not ordinarily notice.

Any time a major planet like Jupiter — which is the boss of the solar system — enters Aries and contacts the Aries Point, there is a magnifying effect, and with Jupiter this will be significant.

The problem is that nothing seems to have any real significance in the digital world; one thing is like another, one place is like another, a photo of the Grand Canyon is as good as the real thing, or so we are told.

Don’t fall for it. Digital is not real, you are not digital, and you will never be satisfied living your life in digital space.

Meanwhile, the Sun is now conjunct the Galactic Core; our source is aligned with the greater source. This is a special moment before the solstice, overlooked by most astrologers — but one of the truly beautiful moments in the astrological year.

STARCAST is posted above.

Your Weekly Horoscope for Dec. 7, 2022

Hello Sagittarius Sun, Moon and rising! Use this link to find out more about the Astrology Studio reading for your sign. Your reading is included free with upgrading or extending to a 12-month subscription.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Your responses to a relationship are far less about anyone else and more about your emotional state. There is always an element of truth to this, though at the moment, you appear in your solar chart as someone who is trying to determine whether something is true or not. This comes back to how you feel and what you want. Meanwhile, you are on the move — and that means orienting yourself on something other than your inner emotional weather. Jupiter is about to jump into Aries for a five-month whirlwind adventure. This is all about expression of who you are, far more than it is about ‘relating’ to anyone or anything in particular. The focus of your relating is about what you, personally, have to express, first to yourself and then to the universe generally. You may have a muse, an aspiration or a mission. It all amounts to the same thing, which is what you do with your vital force every day, and how you direct your ideas. You are just getting warmed up.

What I’m learning writing your Inner Space Annual Readings

Dear Friend and Reader:

I am halfway done with writing the Inner Space sign chapters. These are the 2023 annual edition’s written segment. I have not done a proper beginning-of-the-year annual since 2019 (Intelligence). The 2021 annuals were spread out through the first six months of the year.

These readings are coming out to 4,000 words per sign/rising sign. Essentially, I am writing 48,000 (extra) words in about two months. These readings will come with an audio reading of about one hour. Between the written and the audio portions of the reading, you will get an excellent idea of what is going on.

And if you read both your Sun and rising sign, you will have an even better picture. The readings will rarely conflict; I am working from one guiding philosophy. They will be presenting similar information from different points of view. The signs that the planets are transiting stay the same; the houses change as the Sun or rising sign changes. I will explain this in a special short audio which accompanies each of the readings.

In short, I am able to do extraordinarily detailed readings without having anyone’s birth data. I use transiting planets, mutual aspects, knowledge of history and a gift for telling a good story. What you get in this astrology is not the technicalities but rather something you can relate to, that in some way describes your experience.

Sagittarius and the Cosmos: Deep Space Astrology

Dear Friend and Reader:

THE SUN HAS ENTERED SAGITTARIUS, which is the sign of the local cosmos. On our scale, local might seem pretty far away. But in the universe, there is always farther you can go.

There are galaxies strewn all over the place, though the direction of tropical Sagittarius, the 9th and “most philosophical sign” (in the words of Jim Morrison), has two special distinctions from the standpoint of deep space astronomy.

One is that it’s where we find the core of our Milky Way galaxy. Discovered in 1933 by AT&T engineers laying telephone cable under the Atlantic Ocean (which picked up the signal it broadcasts from 25,000 light years afar), the core includes a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A* (pronounced A-star).

(It is difficult to get a good look at it, because our view is obscured by all of the stars and stardust on the galactic plane.)

This most exciting discovery fits all of the classical associations with Sagittarius: long-distance travel, that which is alien or foreign, that which has spiritual or religious overtones, and that which makes us question reality and our relationship to it.

It’s impressive and I think humorous what “occultists” figure out long before science gets there.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — You seem to have passed through a layer of complexity in a relationship or partnership situation. You’re not all the way through the mystery yet, but are making progress. One important understanding is that you are working through layers of a question; and that you are defining the question as you go. You may assume that this learning process is mostly about you rather than about others: how you perceive people, what you hear and do not hear, what you fully take on board and what you do not. The root of this question may be about whether you are someone important to a close partner or loved one. Be aware that there are factors present that may diminish your sense of your own presence and influence. These same factors will thrive on negativity — and that is one thing you don’t want to use as a metric of vitality or relevance. All of this is about figuring out what you already know, or re-discovering what you have already learned.

Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for Nov. 3, 2022

Hello Scorpio Sun, Moon and rising! Use this link to find out more about the Astrology Studio reading for your sign. Your reading is included free with upgrading or extending to a 12-month subscription.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — Someone’s conduct or choices may confuse or shake you up a little, and at the same time, they may set you free. However, this will feel different if you are committed to living in the past. This is your opportunity to trade the pain of attachment for an experience of liberation you may have wanted for a long time. Your life is often a balancing act between your independence and your commitments, and you tend to be way too willing to compromise. Typically, one of those compromises is flying stealth and under the radar, by which I mean not allowing certain people in your life to know the ways in which you express yourself freely. You might think it does not matter if they don’t know. Yet it ought to matter to you, and life is different when you place your actual integrity at the top of your priorities. The appearance, no matter how convincing, will never serve you.

What the Thunder Said: Total Eclipse of the Moon in Taurus

Dear Friend and Reader:

THE NEXT EVENT in our astrological adventure story is a total eclipse of the Moon in Taurus, on Tuesday, Nov. 8. This happens at 6:02 am EST and will be visible wherever you can see the Moon.

This Full Moon eclipse happens conjunct Uranus, to the degree. Where Uranus is in the picture — especially of a major collective event such as this — we are on notice to expect the unexpected. Uranus-focused events can have extra shock value. They can release pent-up energy. They can describe overreactions and people acting out of character.

Eclipses generally qualify as “major collective events” because they are an unusual alignment in space and time. They have long-lasting effects; some say six months, but with some, you can sometimes see their influence 10 or 20 years later.

The lunar nodes are indeed nodes, meaning that they are points of juncture, intersection and exchange. They point to eclipses, and when one happens, the bell rings and the energy tap opens up.

The good thing about fog is that you know it’s there.

The Fog You Cannot See & Your Weekly Horoscope

Dear Friend and Reader:

IMAGINE YOU ARE DRIVING A CAR and suddenly the road is shrouded in fog. Any meekly experienced driver knows to slow down.

A more experienced driver knows not to follow the car in front of them, but rather to look for road markers (such as the white stripe on the right side of the road) that indicate that you are actually on the highway and in your lane.

You may notice that your high-beams make it harder to see ahead of you, as the light is reflected back in your face.

And a truly experienced driver knows to look for a safe place to stop and wait until any extremely unsafe conditions change.

Now imagine if there was a fog you could not see — a transparent fog. For example, you think you’re looking at a real scene and seeing it accurately, but it’s distorted. Objects are concealed. Some things that appear to be there are not.

Yet there’s no mist sliding around the atmosphere to remind you of that fact. As treacherous as fog can be, at least you know you’re in it, and can adjust accordingly.

When you cannot see the fog, you risk discovering it’s there by driving into something, or going off the road. Fortunately, astrology is here to remind us of the conditions we are in.

Blue quote is by Marshall McLuhan, from the book On McLuhan.

Mercury Direct. Mars Square Neptune. Digital Conditions, Violence and the Quest for Identity.

Dear Friend and Reader:

JAY BY DAY, the world seems to be spinning off of its axis. Yet the strife that we hear about in what we call “the news” puts us into immediate tension and conflict with the basic necessity of getting through the day. We all must do our best to maintain some peace of mind and quality of life.

In the not-so-distant past, these things would have been mere rumors. But now, they are not only thrust on us; our senses are dragged directly to the scene of suffering to personally witness the worst of the devastation, whether of wars, accidents or seemingly natural disasters.

I reckon this is one of the most urgent spiritual lessons of our times: how to stay balanced within our own existence, and also be aware of what is happening in so many other parts of the world — about which we can do nothing. That may be the biggest challenge of all.

It is easy to turn one’s shoulder, pretend that none of it matters, or assume that it’s all someone else’s problem. But we know from depth psychology that the refusal to acknowledge grief is the primary source of psychic and emotional chaos.

A fair representation of a planetary body passing between the Earth and the Sun. Only three things can do this: the Moon, Mercury and Venus. This will help you visualize what that looks like.

Overnight Thursday to Friday, retrograde Mercury passes between the Sun and the Earth exactly at the Libra equinox — a rare event, connected to many other planets in the same pattern.

The Equinox Alignments

Dear Friend and Reader:

JUST AS THE SUN INGRESSES LIBRA on Thursday at 9:03 pm EDT, Mercury passes between the Earth and the Sun, aligning exactly with both. This fleeting moment is our harbinger of the season to come. It also describes how many people will be involved in ever-larger cycles of events as we approach the corresponding Aries equinox in six months.

There are many topics to cover right now that the current astrology weaves together — from the multiple crises in Ukraine to the economic situation to major developments on the virus front. In this article, I intend to stick mainly to the astrology, so that we have that as a reference and foundation.

I will do a close reading of the chart and take up some of the major news events as the top story on tomorrow’s Planet Waves FM. Please watch for that email or check in Friday evening. If you are not technically proficient in astrology, the article below contains plenty of interpretation. I give the astrological details for those who are curious.

This conjunction serves as a cosmic trigger, a massive physical and magnetic wave coming through to light up the landscape.

The Aries Point is Alive

When the Sun aligns with the equator or one of the tropics (as it is doing now), that is described as the “Aries Point.” That simply means that the Sun is making an aspect to the first degree of Aries (currently, an opposition), which in turn tells us that the season is changing.

The Sun is the yellow circle with a dot; note its position at 00 Libra 00. Mercury is the green thing with horns, in a conjunction to the Sun at the moment of the equinox. This is a rare event.

Tonight, just as the Sun’s rays square up with the equator and day and night are equal length nearly everywhere, something else happens: Mercury passes right between the Earth and the Sun, doubling the effect. This is the midpoint of Mercury retrograde (which ends Oct. 2) and technically called the interior conjunction of Mercury and the Sun.

(It used to be called the “inferior conjunction,” but Melanie Reinhart and I took a vote one day and unanimously changed the name.)

This conjunction serves as a cosmic trigger, a massive physical and magnetic wave coming through to light up the landscape.

The Aries Point is a wild thing — it does not exist as a physical object, yet it has all the influence of one. This may be associated with the presence of a massive galaxy called M87 sitting at one-and-a-quarter degrees of Libra. I’ll come back to that in a second.

Elizabeth, Eristocrat of the Global Village

Dear Friend and Reader:

On Monday, Sept. 19, we say goodbye to Elizabeth II, who reigned over the United Kingdom for 70 years. For most people, she is the only queen they can name, except maybe for Freddy Mercury.

Elizabeth was born at the dawn of radio, in 1926. The first mass medium, meaning that everyone listened together, radio transformed the world into what Marshall McLuhan called the Global Village.

Section of the natal chart of Elizabeth II. Eris is toward the bottom left — the red oval with an arrow pointing downward.

Her public debut was a live radio presentation on BBC Children’s Hour in 1940, four years after she had become heir apparent. Radio was a family legacy; the previous year, her father, George VI, had overcome a debilitating stammer — his speech freezing up — to become an effective wartime king and address his people. This was the subject of the phenomenal film The King’s Speech.

The teenage Princess Elizabeth’s eloquent broadcast encouraged strength and courage in the children of the empire who had been evacuated from the cities to temporary homes in the countryside, and even to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States — a move designed to ensure the survival of the next generation (in a time very different from our own).

“Thousands of you in this country have had to leave your homes and be separated from your fathers and mothers. My sister Margaret Rose and I feel so much for you as we know from experience what it means to be away from those we love most of all,” she said, revealing something of the life she led as a royal. In so doing, she said: you’re one of us.

Venus Square Mars: A Case in Point

By Eric F. Coppolino

VENUS AND MARS FORM A SQUARE aspect in the mutable signs Virgo and Gemini on Friday, Sept. 16. This is one of the most interesting and potentially challenging aspects in astrology, the more so because it describes a diversity of matters that relate to gender identity, internal sexual dynamics and how someone works out their emotions and desires.

Venus square Mars, in a grand cross with Nessus (at the bottom), and the Great Attractor (on the left). The Moon shows up for the festivities, in Gemini, right new Mars.

Venus and Mars are all about human experience. They relate ideas such as come hither, let’s get cozy, you’re adorable, snag the guy, get the girl and let’s fuck.

Dogs understand these ideas. People seem to have more confusion about them.

Everyone has Venus and Mars in their chart. From its origins, astrology was visionary about this: nobody is strictly male or female; we all possess some proportion of the two. There is even an androgynous influence, Mercury.

The question is how these factors relate to one another. Are they balanced? Do they argue? Are one’s own inner masculine and feminine in some harmony? In what style are they expressed?

For the square aspect that is happening now, and generally, the question is: what do you need to work out for yourself that you’re projecting onto others?

Full Moon, Mercury, Mars: The Big Ride Begins

Dear Friend and Reader:

With Mercury stationing retrograde on Friday, followed hours later by the Pisces Full Moon on Saturday, we are on the big ride to March 2023. That is the moment of revelation and, among other things, the beginning of Pluto in Aquarius, which lasts until 2044.

That is accompanied by Mars entering Cancer, and Saturn entering Pisces, all concentrated around the Aries equinox of 2023.

While it’s an important spiritual discipline to stay in the present, which really means to pay careful attention to yourself and your environment, it’s equally vital to remember where we are headed, because it’s a place in the timescape like no other. And we need preparation. I began that in my recent article, Rumors, and from a personal standpoint in the Cancer reading for An Aquarian Era (open content).

Hello Virgo Sun, Moon and rising! Use this link to find out more about the Astrology Studio reading for your sign. Your reading is included free with upgrading or extending to a 12-month subscription.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — The Moon meeting the Sun, stretching across the Virgo-Pisces axis, will open a door to understanding your relationships. You may suddenly notice a lot more, by which I mean something about your total environment will be a little more obvious by the light of the Full Moon in the most intuitive sign. There are questions you’ve been carrying around for years, and conditions you’ve been experiencing for years, and for a moment, you may see the light of reality. Yet it will not be the light of the Sun. You will gain vision by the reflected feminine light of a kind of mirror that follows us through time. And it will not last long; this is a passing phase where you may make certain observations that will be easy to forget; and they will be easy to pass by, if, for example, you are distracted from what, to some, will seem like a little tiny window into your truth opening up. There’s no way to prescribe how to get the most of such a moment, which is good, because you don’t want “the most.” You want to remember something — something sublime about yourself.

September Monthly Readings for Virgo Season

Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for September 2022 | Go To All Signs

By Eric Francis Coppolino

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Between now and next March, your life is set up to go through a long-awaited transformation. My read is that this will provide some relief from many of the problems you experienced over the past decade or so, since around 2011 (when Neptune entered your opposite sign Pisces, which primarily affects relationships). That may seem like a long time, though I don’t suggest you wait for something to happen; there is plenty to do, and it all involves your sense of purpose on Earth and the way in which you relate to your dharma. Neptune is a strange influence, and in such a prominent position, has a way of clouding one’s experience of people, places and experiences. It can describe a sense of ennui, isolation, or a distortion that you cannot describe in a tangible way. It’s as if “objects in mirror are further than they appear.” Meantime, the focus of these six months is focusing your purpose and weaving together the seemingly different facets of your professional life. Mars will be retrograde in Gemini, which is your house of career, reputation and life-purpose. What you may notice is that expressing certain elements of your calling seem to interfere with your relationships. That is the very thing that you may run into, as you finally get a grasp on an important element of your work and, more significantly, your motivation to achieve great things. If this seems to perturb someone, take note, and you will have a sense of what was holding you back, and further, what was likely to have b been creating your sense of isolation or deficit of meaning. Most people feel they have a moral or cultural obligation to favor the needs of personal partnership over those of their personal life journey. This is a false dichotomy. The two must work together, and as a Virgo, your work is the place where your soul takes root into the Earth.

Virgo New Moon :: STARCAST from Planet Waves

We are back after a two-month hiatus. Today’s edition of STARCAST covers the Virgo New Moon, as well as the forthcoming Mercury and Mars retrogrades. I cover a diversity of minor planets, two hypothetical points, and and introduce the new planet Gongong.

Chart for the Virgo New Moon.

Milo, or sorghum, growing in the American midwest.

Threefold Goddess in a Field of Grain

“THE SIGN VIRGO is one of the most significant in the zodiac,” Bailey writes in her introduction to this sign, “for its symbology concerns the whole goal of the evolutionary process, which is to shield, nurture and finally reveal the hidden spiritual reality. This every form veils, but the human form is equipped and fitted to manifest it in a manner different to any other expression of divinity and so make tangible and objective that for which the whole creative process was intended.”

She describes this process as being conveyed in three female figures from mythology: Eve, Isis and Mary. Each of these goddesses conceals and gestates the inner spiritual quality of humanity until it’s born in human form as Jesus, the Christ. I don’t think she means this literally as much as she is presenting a metaphor of spiritual development, and a model of the feminine being what gestates a deeper quality in humanity.

Eve “took the apple of knowledge from the serpent of matter and started the long human undertaking of experiment, experience and expression” of our journey on and with our planet. Isis “stands for this same expression down onto the emotional or astral plane.” Mary “carries the process down to the plane or place of incarnation, the physical plane, and therefore gives birth to the Christ child.”

Scene from The Stand, based on the novel by Stephen King.

We have been covering ‘covid’ and the lockdowns  for 900 days. Eric Francis describes what he has witnessed.

THE SCIENCE FICTION GENRE is brimming with tales of biological weapons getting loose, of plagues and other outbreaks that kill everyone. And people love them.

The Andromeda Strain by Michael Chrichton (1969) addresses such an outbreak of extraterrestrial origin. The Stand by Stephen King (1978) describes the release of a biological weapon that kills 99.9% of the population and follows the stories of the survivors.

The genre has its probable origins with Mary Shelly’s The Last Man (1824, ridiculed at the time of its publication) and possibly Daniel Defoe’s Journal of a Plague Year (1722). A World of Women by J.D. Beresford (1913) is the story of a disease that wipes out nearly all of the men. Society or most of humanity getting wiped out by a disease is a topic of persistent fascination throughout history and literature.

But I do not know of one story that describes the claim of a plague where there was none, supported by bogus “scientific” evidence, pumped up by the media, endorsed by nearly all the technologists, scientists and doctors, believed by billions, and used as an excuse to take over the world.

Imagine a story where the anxiety is driven so high that when the government comes out with the “solution” to the outbreak — a deadly “vaccine” — people not only line up for it, but even bring their children in to get the shot — despite being told repeatedly that kids are not at risk.

Even as the toll mounts by the day, people refuse to look at the evidence that the only deadly elements are the lies and the “medical” interventions that people so willingly accept. Many who go into the hospital with minor symptoms — and never come home. It’s as if they are living out a fictional scenario they are certain is real.

The recent Aquarius Full Moon took place on the anniversary of the grand cross, total solar eclipse in Leo of Aug. 11, 1999. This event, anticipated for many years prior, was the harbinger of the millennium to come.

Painting by Lanvi Nguyen.

Trust and Vulnerability

LIKE THE 1999 EVENT, Thursday night’s Full Moon is also a grand cross in the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. (Those are the same signs as are on the tarot card The World, and also referenced in the Book of Revelation.) The Full Moon is not conjunct the lunar nodes (that would be an eclipse). But it is at 90-degrees to the nodes, which is an honorary eclipse and an official turning point in whatever story you’re tracking, writing or living through.

Many of the same planets are involved in the pattern — Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and the Moon and Sun. It’s a bit uncanny.

This is an Aquarius event of great magnitude, conjunct Saturn in its home sign. Saturn in Aquarius is one of the remaining harbingers of the lockdown era that started in early 2020.

It is also a reminder that humans are social creatures, and most of what we have suffered is an assault on the delicate bonds that form our various communities. Saturn in Aquarius is a reminder that we must work together. The emphasis in that sentence is on work, and together. We also need to play together. Whatever may be done on a screen, it’s nothing close to actually being in the same room.

Social bonds and the desire to cooperate were already brittle at the time of the 2020 global siege, weakened by decades of the Western world transforming its social existence and human consciousness into digital format. That means algorithms, which in turn means no thought involved — just follow the script.

Aquarius Moon: Out of Place is Where They’re at Home

THE AQUARIUS MOON has an easygoing quality that can conceal its depth of commitment. It’s difficult to tell where you stand with an Aquarius Moon person, though it’s never useful to underestimate them or to assume they don’t care. They just have unusual ways of showing it. And they are not given to the usual sentimentality that many people mistake for sincerity.

Of all the places the Moon can be, Aquarius is the one that I think, “Of course that’s where it is” when I see it in a chart. There is something odd that they all have in common, and you cannot really say what it is. One distinctive thing about them is that they have a way of giving everyone else permission to be who they are.

The Everlasting Forest from Planet Waves

It’s essential that you do not enter into contracts where you’re not wholly certain of your ability, intent and willingness to fulfill your part. Study them carefully.

Here is the first 8 minutes or so of the 2022-2023 Astrology Studio for Leo.

Order Leo Astrology Studio 2022-23

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — Thursday’s vibrant, magnificent New Moon in your sign has a special quality: it is conjunct the minor planet (20000) Varuna. Discovered in 2000, it was one of the very earliest of the named planets outside the orbit of Neptune. It was an important harbinger for the century that was new at the time of its discovery. First, a few thoughts on this topic and then — the rest of your chart.

Hello Leo Sun, Moon and rising! Use this link to find out more about the Astrology Studio reading for your sign. Your reading is included free with upgrading or extending to a 12-month subscription.

Varuna is a pre-Vedic creation god. Above all else, the message is to be fair, to honor your contracts and commitments, and to be a witness to the fundamental equality of all beings. This is a tall order for struggling humanity, though your advantage is that Varuna has been in your sign for a few years.

Equality does not imply sameness, but rather an understanding that beneath all the shifting and changing roles we play in life, we are made of the same essence. And the divinity of that essence means that everyone is entitled to be treated fairly. It is you who must uphold this standard, for yourself and in any transactions to which you are a party or close witness. It’s essential that you do not enter into contracts where you’re not wholly certain of your ability, intent and willingness to fulfill your part. Study them carefully. Insist that any unreasonable conditions be removed — or do not sign. You are responsible for the promises you make, particularly any that involve groups or some expression of ‘the public’.

You must know that this is a crucial time in your spiritual development. Jupiter and Chiron both in your fellow fire-sign Aries are encouraging you to see everything from the perspective of connection to God and the greater cosmos. This includes all that you do, and everything that you are. Of all the signs, Leo is the one that understands that the connection to divinity and to truth is accessed from within. It is a deeply personal process. Any relationship that you have with guides, teachers, gurus or way-showers is calling forth your duty to ask questions, to seek clarification and most of all, to find your own way to any destination you have determined is truly your own.

Rumors: Mars Retrograde in Gemini

Dear Friend and Reader:

These days, I’ve been reading about the between-life regression work of the late Michael Newton (Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls). His interest is not what happened to his clients in prior lifetimes, but rather what they experience between lifetimes during the “interval of possibility,” or what Tibetan sources call Bardo.

Apparently more is involved than floating around in blue light. Many people have critical assignments — special jobs they return to. Newton documents one case of a person whose role is to go to planets where humanity (or its equivalent) has extinguished itself, to investigate what exactly brought them to the tipping point of self-destruction.

That sounds like me, in my current incarnation. If I had to describe the true nature of my journalistic assignment on Earth, that’s it. The technological, social and ethical tipping points are matters that I have reported on with focused interest, long before starting Planet Waves and every day since.

Now on PWFM :: What happened to Roe v. Wade? What happened to feminism? Conversation w/ Prof. Jess Holmes. Listen on Planet Waves FM

Our guest is English Prof. Jessica Holmes, with whom I discuss the nature of contemporary and earlier models of feminism, what happened to Roe v. Wade, and what the implications of that are.

Also on tap is a discussion with Mike Stone, editor of Viroliegy.com about the nature of the Virus Challenge that I talked about last week. Many people you may be familiar with — including Dr. Andrew Kaufman, Dr. Tom Cowan, Dr. Sam Bailey, Dr. Kevin Corbett, as well as Mike Stone, Christine Massey and others — have designed an experiment to see if virology stands up to the scrutiny of controlled science. There is a legit issue here. There is an actual debatable issue of fact, and we will have a simplified version of the discussion.

Leo, Isis and the Royal Star Regulus

Dear Friend and Reader:

THE SUN enters the fixed fire sign Leo at 4:07 pm EDT on Friday. It does so in an exact conjunction to asteroid Isis. This is an urgent message that we must do something about the fragmentation of self that we are experiencing under full digital conditions. Countless millions of people are walking around on the planet like confused and wayward souls trapped in Bardo.

The myth of Isis also includes an odd detail about the loss of the penis of her lover/brother Osiris — an image of dismemberment in an era characterized by chopping off our sensory organs to handle the overwhelming pressure induced by digital chaos.

There is already something Egyptian going on in the heavens as the fixed star Regulus makes its gradual transition from Leo into Virgo. The morph of a cat (Leo) and a woman (Virgo) is sphinx-like, and that is one marker of the era we are in.

Roman coin minuted on authority of Augustus Caesar (23 September 63 BC – 19 August AD 14) depicting his probable Moon sign, Capricorn. He is said to have later attempted to withdraw the coins from circulation, as he regretted revealing this personal information. Alas, we know. Augustus, also known as Octavian, was the first Roman emperor, reigning from 27 BC until his death in AD 14.

SCOTUS Dobbs Decision: Probably Not What You Think

Roe v. Wade allowed women in all states access to abortions. The court overturning Roe v. Wade does not merely reverse this; it allows the government to take jurisdiction over women’s bodies, and by extension, all of our bodies.

Anatoly Ryzhenko (1973-2020)

Dear Friend and Reader:

It’s been said a person is lucky to have one friend. And were I to have had just one in this life, Anatoly Ryzhenko would have been enough. Since 2004, he served as the webmaster of Planet Waves, and in the process, on that long journey, became my business partner, my fellow prankster, and my best friend.

For 16 years, we tracked one another online nearly around the clock, building just about everything you know as Planet Waves, plus all of our side projects, and free websites for many of our friends. Our favorite thing to do were elaborate April Fool’s Day pranks, which could happen any time of year, on any occasion.

This photo of a man purportedly laying dead on a street in Wuhan, China, was taken and published January 30, 2020 as the “virus” was being rolled out in the international media. Photograph by Héctor Retamal.

Dateline: Wuhan — the Saturn-Pluto Conjunction and the Pluto-Eris Square of January 2020.

“To most people reading the news, the fact of the governor shutting down Broadway and the rest of New York’s world-famous entertainment and professional sports industries was proof enough of a serious problem.”

“To most astrologers, the aspect associated with what was called a coronavirus pandemic was Saturn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. The conjunction, which happens about once every 38 years, was exact on Jan. 12, 2020. It was the “great reset” of the Saturn-Pluto cycle most famous in recent memory for its presence in the chart for Sept. 11, 2001. ”
