Introduction: May 25, 2020

Dear Reader:

We’ve gathered a collection of everything I’ve written related to the pandemic situation, more than 20 major articles in all starting in early March. These are presented in chronological order. I’m also the editor of Covid19 News on Planet Waves, and have written many commentaries there that are not included in this collection of essays.

Coronabro by Jen Sorensen.

I’ve also commented every week on Planet Waves FM, part of the Pacifica Radio Network. Some of my best work has been in radio format, usually at the beginning of each week’s program.

While we are questioning the dominant narrative that the government and media have been weaving around us, my position has remained consistent that the first thing you must do is take care of yourself. Government precautions of wash your hands, stay away from people and cover your face with a rag, are to me a sign of desperation. We can do a lot better, though you have to educate yourself, listen to your body, trust your body, and take the necessary steps.

Caring for your immune system — your only actual protection — is a lot more about what you don’t do rather than what you do.

Thank you to the many Planet Waves editors and contributors who have made this work possible, and to the readers who have sent in information ongoing. Thank you to our contributors, members, customers, my clients and major donors who have paid for all of this work, presented here free and without commercial interruption.

With love,

Eric is also an internationally renowned astrologer whose horoscopes have appeared in newspapers, magazines and websites across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Asia. Today he the editor of Planet Waves, and host of Planet Waves FM – Pacifica Radio Network.

Featured Article:
We Must Demand the Truth about Covid-19 | July 22, 2020

This article is a summary of the issues, including the most important of all: the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) digital test that is creating the illusion of a pandemic at this late date. If you are wondering how the two lines on this graph can diverge so widely, that’s an easy mystery to solve: the polymerase chain reaction can get any result that the lab wants, based on how many cycles the test is left on for. This issue is so glaring, even The New York Times was forced to do the story. Funny, they already did it in 2007, as you will read in my article linked from the headline above.

What the government calls “confirmed cases” versus what it calls “confirmed deaths.” How is this possible? The red line are the results of the polymerase chain reaction, a computer based test that proves nothing. Government documents stipulate that the test is not proof of infection, infectiousness or disease. I explain why in the article above. Here is the source of this data.

Planet Waves TV on Coronavirus | Feb. 11, 2020

In response to a viewer request, here’s a video on coronavirus, looking at the astrology (as compared to the 1918 peak of the H1N1 “Spanish” flu). The astrology is essentially the second Chiron return of the 1918 situation. The deep lurking fear that public health officials have is they know they are powerless over the situation.

Pholus and the Pandemic of Panic | February 29, 2020

All of a sudden, the “novel” coronavirus is exploding into the news. That’s an interesting name — it does feel like it’s the plot from a novel: a government that has spent years getting rid of its scientists, deleting data from its websites and blocking access to health care is suddenly confronted by a global medical and scientific crisis.

Oh Mama, Could This Really be the End | March 5, 2020

There were a couple of times this week when I felt the potential for the whole thing to unravel: this fragile, complicated, thundering world we have created and depend upon. I am not one of those “the shit’s gonna come down” types, so it was an unusual feeling to register.

On the Topic of Hand Sanitizer | March 8, 2020

My exciting debut into writing about the “novel coronavirus” was this article on hand on how sanitizers are not effective, and how in fact they backfire. Registered nurse Beth Bagner, of whom I am a longtime groupie, took microbio lab with a rad nursing professor named Dawn Holsapple. Every semester they did the same experiment — test the efficacy of household disinfectant and cleaning products, one of which was Purell. The results were not so pure.

PWTV Update: How to Think About Coronavirus | March 9, 2020

Here’s the new Planet Waves TV about how to think of the Covid-19 problem. I introduce the idea of the “precautionary principle,” consider the notion of “risk assessment,” and provide a context for how to take current news events into account.

As the Worm Turns | March 13, 2020

Despite this week’s harrowing news about the spread of the “novel” coronavirus, and the dire projections of what is about to happen, and the stock market’s nearly 30% (so far) plunge from this year’s peak, I propose that this is a good time to look at the potential benefits of the situation.

Equinox Ahead; Saturn Entering Aquarius | March 15, 2020

Events the next week will reveal the direction of events to come. The vernal equinox, that is, the Sun’s arrival in Aries, takes place late Thursday in the United States and early Friday in the U.K., Europe and Asia.

Saturn in Aquarius | March 19, 2020

First, a reality check.

This has all happened so fast. One astrological time marker is before and after Mercury retrograde, which was Feb. 16 through March 9. On either side of that three-week span are two different worlds. Two different continents of history.

Turning Point, or Tipping Point | March 22, 2020

I trust this letter finds you doing your best to take care of yourself. At this juncture, your first responsibility is to stay healthy, and then to keep the people around you healthy.

Suggestions for Keeping Things Together in a Crisis | March 23, 2020

Here are some thoughts I’ve gathered from having dealt with crises in the past, and having spent time considering plans with others.

Silent Spring – and Summer, Autumn and Winter | March 28, 2020

We who write about the environment invest a lot of energy into convincing people to care, or trying to. It’s not easy, it rarely works, and it’s a good way to make enemies (and not such a good way to get writing gigs). That’s because our job is to describe invisible threats that would be extremely inconvenient and expensive to respond to, and which most people seem willing to live with. Solving the problems is a threat to our way of life.

When Do the Natives Get Restless? | March 29, 2020

Mars is in the process of changing signs. Today it’s in the last degree of Capricorn (a degree with a conspiratorial feeling, in case that vibe is in the air), and it ingresses Aquarius at 3:43 pm EDT on Monday.

The Road Ahead, the Road Beyond | April 2, 2020

Here is the long view. The United States has until Dec. 21 to get its act together, by which I mean decide what kind of society we want to be. That is the day of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius.

Libra Full Moon: Peace, Love, Intuition | April 5, 2020

It seems like only yesterday that we had the tipping point/turning point Aries New Moon, and like last week that I was looking forward to the Minor League Baseball season beginning.

Ongoing Thoughts About Our Planetary Situation | April 9, 2020

Good evening. I trust this letter finds you well, or at least doing your best. I’m writing to you tonight with thoughts I’ve been gathering over the past month or so. This letter is really several articles in one. You might take them slowly, or select the section that speaks to your situation.

Sun Conjunct Eris, and Square Pluto | April 12, 2020

There are two patterns in the sky right now. The first is the Sun passing through the Pluto-Eris square. The second is the conjunction of Venus and Vesta, which is further described by Mercury conjunct Chiron. The first pattern is easier to size up than the second.

Dangerous ideas on Planet Waves FM

Taurus Sun and New Moon, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus | April 20, 2020

Today the Sun entered Taurus at 10:45 am EDT. It did so toward the end of the lunar cycle; the Taurus New Moon is Earth Day – Wednesday, April 22. I’ll come back to that in a moment and develop the story in Daily Planets over the next few days.

An Earth Day Unlike Any Other | April 22, 2020

Tonight at 10:25 pm EST is the Taurus New Moon. This is a big day for Taurus Sun and rising people, and potentially a day of radical awakening for everyone. It’s available, if anyone is interested

Where Two or More Are Gathered | April 30, 2020

I’ve been seeing and hearing the term “conspiracy theorist” flying around, and in tonight’s letter I want to offer a few thoughts about this. The term has been coming up in the context of those who question the consensus view of the virus and pandemic.

Why you need to know how to take care of yourself | May 7, 2020

In early 2006, when I was living in Brussels, I attended my first event at the European Commission headquarters as a newly credentialed reporter. It was a symposium on a possible flu pandemic, potentially coming soon, that had press attention at the time. A bunch of public health experts were on the panel.

Life is Beautiful | May 14, 2020

When Silent Spring was published in 1962, its impact and influence sprung from its beauty. The book, after causing a huge controversy, ultimately turned world opinion on the pesticide dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane, or DDT. Its chemical formula is C14H9Cl5, and as a double benzene ring molecule, it is similar to dioxin and PCBs.

How did we get here? (part one) | May 21, 2020

Back in January, Donald Trump was not removed from office after committing what appeared to be high crimes — using his office to gain personal advantage in the 2020 election, and then trying to cover it up. This revealed the failure of our system to correct itself, a massive karmic blunder that everyone could see.

They Were Barefoot in Babylon: How Did We Get Here? | June 5, 2020

A few weeks ago hanging out in the backroom of 30th Street Guitars, master luthier Matt Brewster mentioned that the Woodstock festival was held during the Hong Kong Flu pandemic. All public sources agree that this outbreak of H3N2 influenza-A killed a million people worldwide and 100,000 in the United States between mid-1968 and 1970, during which time the festival occurred.

Interval of Decision: Where Are We Going (part one) | June 11, 2020

Anyone familiar with a spiritual path has been taught that there are two ways to guide our lives, by love, or by fear. We’ve all heard this over and over again. Personally figuring out that it’s true is another matter. Remembering to make the choice between them, consciously and whenever necessary, is yet another.

Planet Waves Reader Experiences of the Lockdown | June 24, 2020

We asked our readers how they handled the lockdown. We had many surprising responses.

When the Personal is Made Political | June 28, 2020

This week we are at one of the peak events of 2020: the conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn. The alignment using conventional Earth-centered astrology is Tuesday, June 30, at about 1:46 am Eastern Time.

Mars-Chiron Conjunction in Aries: Identity and Healing | July 13, 2020

Mercury retrograde is mostly behind us – everything except for the part where we repeat the aspects of the past few weeks, our friend the trickster moving in direct motion. It will be making aspects to many slow-moving planets, as I described in Thursday night’s issue.

Discussion of Terrain Theory with Dr. Angelo Castello | July 26, 2020

Tonight’s edition of Planet Waves FM is a conversation with Dr. Angelo Castello, someone I’ve known 25 years and with whom I’ve had an ongoing discussion of holistic health. We talk about “terrain theory” as the thing that makes the difference – that is, the condition of the person rather than the alleged power of the pathogen. This is an exciting, unusual discussion between two people well-versed in holistic health issues, and who understand one another’s points of view.

The Branching of the Road | Aug. 3, 2020

The United States and the world of which it is part stand at a juncture. The time has come to decide what kind of society we want, which translates to what kind of people we want to be.

From the Mars Retrograde File: An ounce of prevention, and a pound of self-actualization | Aug. 13, 2020

Tuesday, I was the beneficiary of a two-and-a-half hour conversation with a virologist working on the Covid issue. It is unusually difficult (verging on impossible) to find sources on this story. Every other major story I’ve worked on, it’s been possible to identify and contact people on various sides of the situation and start to assemble a picture of what is going on.

Sun in Virgo: The Sign of Healing | Aug. 24, 2020

Saturday at 11:45 am ET, the Sun entered the mutable earthy sign Virgo. This begins a disseminating phase of the Sun, moving through the last sign of a season as it leads to the next. Apropos of Virgo, we are in a time of global crisis, supposedly brought on by a medical issue.

Mars Stations Retrograde | Sept. 7, 2020

Today and Thursday I’ll have details about Mars stationing retrograde, which occurs at 6:22 pm EDT (22:22 UTC) on Wednesday, Sept. 9. First, though, let’s consider the movements of Mercury and Venus.

Virgo New Moon: Remember the Goddess | Sept. 14, 2020

Virgo is the sign of the Goddess. I am here to remind you to remember her. Remember her in all of her forms: Gaia, the living Earth; the spirit of love and abundance; all rituals and expressions of beauty and pleasure; and her embodiment through all of the women and men who allow the feminine principle to inhabit their body and their spirit.

The Election of 2020: It’s Showtime, Folks | Sept. 24, 2020

Frank Zappa is reputed to have said, “Politics is the entertainment division of the military-industrial complex.” This may seem cynical, and as a lifelong observer of politics (since the 1972 election, when I was 8), I have long pondered this idea.

Unfinished Business | Oct. 1, 2020

How is your self-actualization project going? Are you feeling the strain of Mars retrograde, pushing on all those planets in Capricorn? Are you noticing it in the world – the stress, the polarization and the chaos?

Monday Evening Letter: Retrograde Mars and Eris: The Central Alignment | Oct. 5, 2020

This morning I dreamed I was walking around on a street corner, and hanging inside of a phone booth was a complete stack of set lists from a music tour that had ended the previous night. I looked through them with interest, curious why someone would go through the trouble of carefully making lists, which were written on beautifully designed forms, and then leave them hanging somewhere. I took them and made them my own.

Mercury Opposite Uranus: How to Change Your Mind (Introduction to Epistemology) | Oct. 19, 2020

Sunday, I was contemplating where to begin discussion of this week’s astrology, when I noticed that on Monday, retrograde Mercury is opposite Uranus. Both are in fixed signs: Uranus in Taurus, Mercury in Scorpio. An asteroid is involved, which is Juno. The alignment is pin-perfect.”
