Aug. 30 was the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the first planet beyond Pluto. This might come as a surprise; many Planet Waves readers have heard of Eris, Varuna or Sedna, but these were subsequent discoveries. The first point to open up that dimension of space was discovered Aug. 30, 1992 by Drs. David Jewitt and Jane X. Luu. This edition includes an extensive interview with Dr. Luu, who tells the story of the discovery and explains what she thinks it means to science. This edition also includes my extended weekly horoscope interpretations, the Weekend Astrology feature, and an article by Juan Cole on vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan. You can get this issue by subscribing to Planet Waves, or purchasing a single copy here.

Eric- looking forward to reading your new article in TMA when my dead-tree version arrives.
Peace
Excellent work. Excellent edition, Eric. You are a pioneer. Thank you for bringing QB1 a little “closer” to all of us. Expansive!
Eric: Thank you for a feature both exceptional and unique. Living as we do, in an era of cut-and-paste journalism, any sort of authentic investigative reporting is exceptional. With this piece on 1992 QB-1, you show how it’s done. Even as tropical astrology stands on the threshold of an entire new era of integrating the so-called “minor” planets, you are unique in that you have been through the threshold to and done that for well over a decade. Today, you pull it all together and bring us up to date in fine style and substantial content. This edition is not to be missed. It’s destined to be a cornerstone in human history.
