  1. It is not Danielle Voirin; it’s a new model from the Hudson Valley, though about the same age as Dani and also a photographer (and jazz singer). I’m looking around for a photo of Dani Voirin and can’t find one at the moment.

The ‘off’ quality of this photo is an effect of the very wide lens, which causes her arms to look much larger than they really are, proportionally. The effect is sometimes called foreshortening, which is not a kind of margarine.

  2. My experience of this photo kind of resonated with victorialynn and awordedgewise. I was wondering if this Danielle is Danielle Voirin, the Planet Waves photographer? If so, maybe she is more used to being BEHIND the lens (sorry to shout – this won’t accept italics!!).

  3. April 1, 1979, 3:00 PM, Tehran, Iran is the date Bill Meridian uses in Dell Horoscope magazine, June’09 issue for Iran’s birth chart. “The Republic of Iran was proclaimed on 4/1/79, but the history of this nation can be traced all the way back to ancient Persia.”

The chart isn’t printed here, but he tells us “Iran. . .has Vesta, Mars & Mercury conjoined from 23′ to 27′ Pisces, . . which is “widely square Neptune at 20′ Sagittarius.” (This would be square U.S. Neptune & opposed U.S. Mars). That puts it in the crosshairs of the Sun square Uranus happening now.

In the July issue of Dell Horoscope, he also mentions that July’s New Moon (Solar Eclipse) falls on Iran’s Jupiter.

  4. I think, regarding our friends in Iran, They’re experiencing the same sheisse folks in the U.S. experienced during ’00, and ’04. There’s a kick-ass awakening going down in that country, and the kids (younger, or more open cats) are attempting to facilitate a revolution of opening up. The powers have their hooks in too deep, but we have to keep our cool and focus, and ride it through with our compatriots on the other side of the world (for those in the U.S.). We are kindred spirits with the Iranian folk. And we will all succeed, Iran has a beautiful voice….. My father was born in Tehran in ’43. (Russian immigrant) Took on Ellis Island in ’49.

I’ve had some kick-ass Iranian friends to teach me vulgar Farsi… It’s Hot!

Long live my beautiful Persian Friends. I’ve got your back.

We ALL will rise up eventually… It’s the predictions that confuse folk… The inane chatter and baseless fear…(How does the old song go…? “When we all pull together, together, together, when we all pull together, how happy we’ll be!” Ha Ha Ha, laughter on my face, that’s where we’re headed…)

Some good laughs and visions flowing your way!

    Love as always,

    Jere

  5. Eric,

I spent most of the weekend at a meditation retreat, and came out to hearing
young Iranians on NPR, and reading their posts so I feel a lot of compassion for them
and hope that they will prevail against all odds. They should be so lucky to be able to
take photographs such as the lovely ones you put up

    That said

Here is the chart the time “Khomeini landed in Tehran shortly after 9:00am LT or 12:30 New York time […] a time of 9:50am LT was also suggested” in other press accounts. Campion, “Book of World Horoscopes.”

with this chart there is a saturn return

there is also Ahmadinejad’s birthday 1956/10/28

    thanks

  6. “. . . right now I am more interested in what is happening in
    Iran and the astrological influences”

Not astrological, this note… but I just glanced at the 3Quarksdaily report/images on Tehran. I have to say, sure wish a few hundred thousand Persians had been *here* on Nov. 8, 2000. Just think of the 250,000+(annually) American veterans who would still have *all* of their arms and legs, for example.

Hmmm… let’s see, 1.5 million broken men and women vs. a few weeks of civil rioting. Peace at *any* price? Maybe not.

    Go get ’em, Tigers…

  7. I too felt awkwardness though didn’t consider it “off”. Rather I felt the resonance of someone coming into a new level of awareness – who was perhaps in a familiar place but being there from an unfamiliar perspective.

  8. There is something that seems a bit “off” in this photo; the woman doesn’t look at ease in her surroundings. Maybe the grey clouds in the background color the photo as “somber” for me and I am misreading her expression and body language.

  9. It is always strange to me how the same planet can have very beautiful moments connecting with Nature, as in this young woman lying in the moss; while at the same time another part of the world is in terrible strife. ( it is indeed a most unsettling global consciousness )
Pictures like this one give me hope but I don’t forget Iran, nor Rwanda, nor Darfur, nor people in institutions, etc.
    Peace to all.

  10. you really want to read about war and strife, Chrys?

I’m home, and I don’t have my Book of World Horoscopes here. If someone would look up Iran’s chart I will have a look.

  11. Sure it is a pretty picture but right now I am more interested in what is happening in
Iran and the astrological influences, hopefully these students being beaten up and worse
    will win .
