Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer monthly for Nov. 23, 2011

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

Everyone has what seem to be splits in their psyche, at least until they get a handle on that illusion. Many times, you live in a polarized world, where there are two sides of the story, two ways of looking at life and sometimes where you seem to inhabit two (or more) separate worlds simultaneously, which have little to do with one another. Underneath that sensation is an underlying emotional reality, which dates back to some experiences that shaped your perceptions in very early childhood, or while your mom was pregnant with you. These memories are veiled; they exist in one of those ‘worlds apart’ that slips into your awareness from time to time. Pay attention to those experiences this month, including what comes through in very early memories, stories you hear from others about your distant past, and what comes through an especially thin veil between dream consciousness and waking consciousness. Be on the lookout for memories associated with your medical history, which in the industrialized world begins long before birth and includes early visits to pediatricians. If your family was into faith healers, notice your memories and feelings around them. Meanwhile, as you dance around these realms, you may be flooded with the sense that you have outgrown your own mind, which would be a beautiful development. Your consciousness is expanding, your perception is encompassing more and more, and the present moment will eventually swallow the past like a puff of smoke disappears into the air.

Note, The Oracle is a random selection from the Eric Francis horoscope archives. Each day we publish one entry from among the 10,000 in our database. It’s a little slice of horoscope history — but chosen by our Oracle program, which always speaks to the present moment. New horoscopes are published each Friday plus twice a month in Planet Waves subscriber edition and Planet Waves Light.

  1. Ah, but Persephone is herself reflected in the flower – or is the flower – is she not? (Narcissism). And so is it that with consciousness she picks (allows picking) in order to preserve?

    Transiting Sun conj natal Persephone,
    transiting Persephone/Saturn conj natal Neptune,
    Transiting Narcissus conj Natal Narcissus….

Natal Pelion conj natal Uranus 12th house (and on my AC). I shall have to give him some consideration.

Thank you, Be 🙂 Always something to chew on!

  2. You pick the flower because you must. Because growth is not about avoiding calamity. On some level, Persephone knew that. On some level, every “innocent maiden” venturing into the dark knows that.

  3. Narcissus has a bad rap. He’s always symbolized as vanity, and yet it was a narcissus flower that Persephone stooped to pick because of its beauty, when suddenly the earth opened and out came Pluto who snatched her away from her mom. Today, transiting Narcissus is sextile transiting Persephone, but Persephone is conjunct transiting Saturn. But Narcissus is also sextile Saturn, so will Saturn deter Persephone’s attraction to the flower, or will Saturn provide a protective container in which to put the beautiful flower?

This moment of thought is provided by transiting Sun in Gemini who is being quincunxed by the conjunction of Saturn and Persephone on the one hand, and on the other hand is quincunxed by Narcissus, therefore creating a yod. The Sun is being forcibly needled to make a decision; pick the flower and preserve it or pass by the flower with an admiring glance. In all consciousness, what would you do?

  4. As we try to understand what the heavens tell us at any given moment, here’s a brief but significant little learning opportunity. Today, transiting centaur Pelion who symbolizes Sacred Spaces is conjunct the U.S. Sibly Chiron, also a centaur, in Aries. Today President Obama referred to cemeteries, specifically Arlington Nat’l Cemetery, as a sacred place.

This is a global picture because even though Memorial Day is specifically observed in the United States of America, transiting Neptune at 5+ Pisces is semi-square transiting Pelion, and therefore other countries on our planet may have their own sacred spaces (or places) being affected by this aspect. The semi-square can bring about conditions that demand attention and these conditions could have important, long-range consequences. Besides cemeteries, other sacred spaces might include churches, mosques, ceremonial places related to historical events, or even personal memories.

For the United States, transiting Neptune semi-square it’s natal Chiron includes a kind of trauma healing, as well as memories of old wounds. The U.S. Chiron is in the 4th house of roots and ancestry, while trans. Neptune is in the U.S. Sibly 3rd house of neighbors, brothers and sisters as well as various forms of communication. Might transiting Neptune be providing our country with an opportunity to accept and forgive and dissolve those wounds inflicted long ago? For us personally, could we not pick up the cell phone or laptop and call that brother we haven’t talked to for years because of some minor disagreement? Wherever trans. Neptune and Pelion fall in your natal chart, there is an opportunity, if not a nagging memory pushing you to address something sacred that could use a bit of forgiveness.

For the U.S.A. and its people, it might take a little more consciousness.
