Woodstock homestead off of County Rt. 375 on the way into town. The red arcs are lens flare, caused by photographing directly into the Sun. Picture by Eric.

  1. Beautiful, Eric. I find it very poignant.

It makes me long for the flora of my homeland (SE Pennsylvania). Now a coastal CA resident, I really really miss the greenery of the east.

  2. I love this shot.

The light has an ethereal effect, beckoning us to explore the pathway and enter…..

  3. well, i am dumb…, i was referring to shooting into the sun and lens flare… it doesnt look like a “textbook” photo … some voice inside my head saying “never shoot into the sun… you’ll go blind!!”

  4. Look forward to hearing what they have to say! Lovely pic whichever way the lens flares.

(sorry, bad pun. bad bad pun. down girl.)

  5. Zeiss VP I know in the US says that it’s a relic of the polarizing filter that’s on the lens — not a product of the lens….I agree with that assessment…photo is being sent to the factory in Germany for analysis!

  6. …and since it’s not impressionism and is photography – always some black and white.

Interesting that it’s the flare that helps balance said composition.

    Lovely!

  7. This is Lovely, Eric! does it not break some “rules” of photography with such a fine result?
