The plane on which the aborted terrorist attack landed in Detroit at 11:51 AM and the news report said the incident occurred about 20 minutes before landing. A chart for 11:30 AM in Detroit (this is as close as I can get for now) has 10 Pisces rising and 20 Sagittarius on the MH.
The US Sibley chart Chiron is at 20 Aries 08 and is trine the transiting Mars at 19 Leo 31 rx. Transiting Achilles and transiting Eris are conjunct the natal US Chiron. This shows a huge consciousness increase for the US. (there’s gotta be a damaged heel in here somewhere. . .our security system?)
The U.S. Mars is square transiting Uranus and is conjunct the approximate nadir of the event chart. However, transiting Chiron 22 Aquarius 46, along with Neptune and Jupiter is trining the U.S. Mars. This is a repeat emphasis; transiting Chiron trines U.S. Mars, and U.S. Chiron trines transiting Mars. We really must get the message. (the two Chirons are sextile as well as the two Mars!)
The U.S. Sun is square the transiting Moon at 14 Aries 59, while the U.S. Saturn opposes the transiting Moon; a cardinal t square.
Who can tell me a little more about Hephaistos (or Hephaisios? can’t read my writing) as he is also conjunct our U.S. Mars by transit?

I want to post some interesting findings regarding the terrorist event aboard the airline about to land in Detroit yesterday. Although I never heard what time the flight left Amsterdam, the actual event took place around noon, just before the approach to landing.
At that (approximate) time, Mars was making aspects to all the major planets, including the 2 quincunx’s mentioned earlier. The major aspect of course was Sun (& therefore Pluto) which was tightly square Saturn. Mars was sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) the Sun (& Pluto) while also semisquare (45 degrees) Saturn.
Mars was also opposite Chiron (22 Aquarius 46) and therefore also Neptune and Jupiter.
Mars was trine the Moon at approximately 15 degrees Aries. A very wide trine (orb of 10 degrees) to Venus also, if allowed, otherwise she is the only planet not aspected by Mars.
The two quincunx’s in the yod were from Uranus (22Pisces 56) and Mercury 21 Capricorn 43 (+ North node 1 Cap 13) to Mars at 19 Leo 31 rx.
The 23 year old who attempted to explode a device was a recent graduate of a university in London, and comes from a wealthy banking family. His former classmates expressed shock and surprise to learn he had done this and the other airline passengers were, of course, shocked too. There appears to have been liquid involved in setting off the device, so I do think that Uranus in Pisces was expressed in this event. Mercury (youth, air, airline) also seems an obvious participant.
The passenger that tackled the perpetrator commented that the young man was shaking, but that he didn’t struggle and, when stripped and examined, had burns from the device that had flamed and smoked but didn’t detonate. This has to be the retrograde Mars in Leo. The “tackler” said he didn’t think, just lept over the seats to put out the fire and this sounds like Moon in Aries.
One other observation was that Achilles at 19 Aries 25 (and therefore Eris at 20 Aries 56 rx) was tightly trine Mars. Have not heard if the young man’s ankle was damaged.

Wow, that’s a good analogy; keeping the pressure/tension on a subject doesn’t destroy it, but in fact, prevents it from collapsing. That could equate to the pressure of the sextile on the focal point of a yod, in this case Mars.
As I read it, the easy, facilitating (sextile) of the strong (symbol 22 degree) energy of Mercury (wind) in earthy Capricorn (can be felt), and the surprising (Uranus) wet (Pisces) substance (symbol 23 degree) of snow put pressure on the road and air warriors (Mars!) to respect the creative (Leo) power of nature (symbol 20 degree).
This might also give some clues in the case of the attempted terrorist “attack” that was aborted. I haven’t heard what time the flight left Amsterdam so can’t do a chart, but I’m sure Eric or someone will have that info today.

I am thinking about the yod and the analogy of holding a keening ship up by opposing forces–each side strong in their position and yet the ship does not lean either way but stay upright.
Perhaps that is the reason we are so firm in our opinions and how to start–in the political realm that is definitely the case. Amazing tension. But this is where we are, and its good thing. Release of our long-denied root energies — let us hope so!
‘specially for Fe, and other PWers who might be interested, I noted one of my favorite things going on right now. . .a yod! On another blog I entered the following in regard to the blizzard here and across the pond. Hope it provides some insight:
If indeed, there really is “a reason for everything”, then a phenomenon in the sky happening now might provide a clue to the severe weather. There is a yod consisting of Mercury (and the north node) at 21+ Capricorn, Uranus at 22+ Pisces, and (the focal point) Mars at 19+ Leo.
Due to the nearly retrograde Mercury’s slow movement, and Mars already retrograde and slow, and Uranus just being slow anyway, it will be in effect for longer than it would normally.
To keep this short, I will quote Dane Rudhyar’s key word for the degree (22 Cap) for Mercury as “inner strength”, and for the degree (23 Pisces) for Uranus as “substantiation” and for the degree (20 Leo) of Mars, the focal point, the following:
