Mercury is combined with Mars and Pholus in Sagittarius. It looks to me as though this aspect is about heritage, family legacies for good or for ill: the same interconnectedness we discussed when Arachne slipped into Sagittarius earlier this week, but more focused on the family.
Mercury conjoined with Mars is defined by Isabel Hickey as impulsive, mechanically inclined and possibly aggressive. It might seem like you are a corked bottle that has just been shaken and you are ready to blow, especially with Pholus in there.
Pholus is the centaur in myth who was given a special cask of wine by Dionysus, only to be enjoyed by the centaurs. Astrologers understand this to be a symbol of blood, and since only the family of the centaurs could partake, it is thought of as the lineage, or the power inherent in the genes passed down from generation to generation. When Pholus opened the cask by the prompting of Herakles, the centaurs smelled it from miles away and were whipped into a battle frenzy. They stormed the cave. Many died, Pholus included. Chiron received the wound that would pain him until he laid down his life.
Juan Revilla notes that Pholus is Luciferian in its energy. An image of the outcast at the kitchen table comes to my mind. To embrace the differences and to come closer to understanding who one is in relation to the family one arises from is a struggle each person much undertake in the process of becoming individuals. It is about breaking free, letting loose the wine and transforming.
Mercury, as always, is about the mind, but it also about communications of any kind. Mars is the energy of courage, the thing that makes you roll up your sleeves when you’re ready to really get to work on something.
Whatever it is that’s influencing your take on legacy, this conjunction suggests the inspiration to get to the bottom of “bad blood”.

The conjuncton of Sun Mars and Mercury…in Sagittarius….is indeed one of my all time favourite Arrow shooting seasons……..target practice for the student …to try out his/her ideas….send them out there into the ether…with love and integrity…..!
A keen eye for detail is surely helped by Venus and Jupiter in Capricorn…Trine Saturn……in Virgo…..!
Venus and Jupiter are 45 degrees off….so maybe one should be targeting all of the issues that are not loved-up and expansive……!! The influence of Pholus would suggest familial and negative issues in group work……!!
Saturn…72/75 degrees off of the conjunction…. in Virgo…will definitely be keepin an eye on it all…..so shoot your arrows straight and true at issues that have been around for a while….!
The little cluster over there in Aquarius….Neptune…Chiron…and the Node…. broadly Sextile…will perhap lead us intuitively towards the healing …within and without the group work…..and Uranus sqare…in Pisces ….will no doubt electrify the difficult areas….but resolution and achievement are there for the understanding…!!
That leaves the Moon….trailblazing across the Sagittarian landscape…the Great Attractor and the Galactic Core….temping us to explore all of our weaknesses and then getting real……..finally taking on Pluto…like Davida(sic) and Goliath……across the Aries point..

Over here in Europe…and the UK in particular….whether or not there were UK terrorists in Mumbai…….it is time for us to look at the export of terrorism as a Social function……accept that demographics have changed….and as music returns to its roots…so do people…!

But any of us…after hours…days…weeks or months in a deprivation tank/dysfunctional social situation…is capable of mass murder…..!!
