1. Ah well, the payoff.

   I had several intentions writing this article. As some of my readers know, I take Sept. 11 piece by piece. My investigative technique is to dismantle one piece of the story at a time, to show that that one element doesn’t work, and then cast doubts upon the whole. I took similar approaches in The Gingerbread House (2007) and Were It So (2002).

   In writing this article, I my intention was to bring in a metaphysical teaching. I was not trying to convince people, but rather demonstrate that we can consider these ideas in a harmless way without melting down and the world ending or the CIA taking them to a secret island. The whole thing is a demonstration of what is possible to consider.

   Mary, you indicate something, which is that we don’t know what to do with the truth. This would get in the way of finding out the truth — especially if it’s inconvenient or if it challenges your worldview. This is a delicate relationship to establish, and for most people it’s new territory. It’s a little like being taken backstage at a rock concert or Broadway musical. It’s not what it seems from in front of the stage. But what do you do? Well, if you take 10 kids backstage at a rock concert, I bet that one will become a rock star and one will become a stage manager.

   My second intention with this article was to prepare us for the next one. There will be a next one, whatever it is — though since Sept. 11, 2001, the preferred disaster capitalism boon has come from “natural” catastrophes, such as the Banda Aceh quake/tsunami, New Orleans or Haiti. The nice thing about a “natural” disaster is that it really cannot be used to start a war. But there are likely to be other incidents that are used in that way, and we need to learn the elements of fraud, so we can see it at the time. We need to learn to see the obvious; we need to learn to see.

   WTC 7 makes a nice postmortem example of what to look for.

   I recognize that I am speaking to an extremely small audience at Planet Waves. But at the same time I am speaking to an audience of people many of whom are in positions of worldly influence (I can tell from the “vacation reply” emails that come back), and many of whom are advanced on the level of light work. What I am doing is creating a resource providing information for people who know what to do with it; and for those who want to stretch their perception. The resource is the demonstration of a method. It’s not always so easy to see this stuff. The seeing must be taught, learned from example, practiced and put to work.

   Third intention — after the fact: I mailed this to Larry Silverstein’s press agent last night. I took a cue from two astrologers here that I respect, who agreed that he wants the truth to be known.

   Last point: Law of Attraction. It felt good to write this piece, and to work with my friends on it. It was less about exposing an egregious scandal and more about creating a fun article. I always love assembling complex topics in simple ways that people can understand, but this was more fun, say, than writing this much older piece from a previous phase of my career. There, I was outraged, worried sick, and despite my knowledge, apparent triumph and later winning a first place state award for the series, I didn’t have nearly as much fun as I had with History, Turning on a Phrase.

   Just read the conversation on Wikipedia and hmm I understand why you had to write the article.

   Part of the problem with the 9/11 investigation is the framing of it – this is on both sides of the *truth* debate. It feels to me that if you question the accepted story you become one of the ‘nutjobs’ instantly – no matter that you are asking relevant questions – this leads to the creation of a 9/11 catechism (?) which if you question it marks you out as a heretic. Then there’s the other side that goes as far as to claim that ‘no planes hit the WTC’ etc etc…

   I’d love to have the facilities to be part of a team working on this – whiteboards to draw the connections on, secure data storage, the time (!!) and headspace (!!!)

   I remember trying to track down the connections that the Bush family had to Securacom etc and the tentacles were mindboggling.

   But a note – an operation of this size had to be years in the making and not the product of just Bush Jr… Indeed Killtown (link earlier in this thread) points to reports in 1998 that highlight something like this happening! I travelled fairly extensively throughout the States by air (for a UK tourist that is) from 97 – 01 and remember feeling in my gut in July 2001 that there was a hijack waiting to happen…

3. There really isn’t a peice written here @ PW that I’m not informed by, moved by, and likely changed by. I find myself holding back with investing myself in the 9/11 related stuff because there’s a leap for me here — no not that there is a conspiracy or that big business is reaping untold millions, but that all these elements came together and no one is talking or writing a book. I guess the biggest issue for me is that, while I admire the superb writing and digging involved in this massive effort, lwhat is the payoff? so what? that sounds super flip, and I don’t mean that … I just mean I don’t know what to do with this information.

   I know Silverstein is “one of them” but I have to say that I get a good vibe off of the guy. Perhaps it’s the love your overlord kind of thing (we’re both Brooklyn boys, and he’s done well for himself, and not ‘cus he’s a fool), tho what I love is that he let the truth slip out. And I have the DVD sitting here on my desk.

   You are correct – he signed the lease six weeks before the towers fell. So I am not sure where the limited time to get the buildings fixed came in, and they had to know they weren’t putting a scaffold around .4 miles of vertical skyscraper and dismantling that thing in the air. In a sense he was the bag man, but I am certain it was not his gig. They made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. It is vaguely possible they kept him in the dark and he had to figure out what happened.

   I am with you that WTC 7, a secure facility, was the base of operations. Taking it down was the gesture of covering their footprints, and they were rather astute in sizing up the psychology of the situation. This could not be demonstrated any better than by the robotic Wikipedia editor who said to me regarding “pull it”: “Any other interpretation of this quote is a fantasy manufactured to fit a preconceived narrative.”

   Well now. Who’s got the preconceived narrative? Certainly, “pull it” asks more questions than it answers.

   That conversation is worth reading and it’s what crystallized my idea for the article most of you have read today. I am Wikipedian “Dioxinfreak.”

   According to the above link Silverstein aquired the lease on WTC1+2…. 6 weeks before 9/11…

   I too have read stories of metal fatigue and threats from the Port Authority.

   It seems to me that WTC7 was “headquarters”….and was surgically removed to clean the forensics.

   I looked at Silverstein’s chart..Wiki gives 30th May 1931 New York…I rectified it to midday as a start point….Neptune rising 3 degrees Virgo… 1 degree Virgo ASC…..Mars lurking menacingly in the 12th at 20 degrees Leo…… Pluto conjunct Jupiter in Cancer in the 11th opposite Saturn, Verte and Vesta in Capricorn in the 5th….. and the Moon on the IC opposite Chiron on the MC…….

   This guy will not be happy until the world knows of his truth…..and there is a woman in there who may just be about to help him along… his way of being creative…!!!

   Operation Northwood re-enacted…… a sparkling clean-up….. and a whole new building project to keep the Port Authority happy…. remember the Republican shut down of the docks…with all the Neo Nazi party dresses…… and funny hats…..!!

   Finally let me pose a profound Philosophical question…..

   As I work on the Pre-History and History of Africa….we see hunter/killers give up this life and become farmers. So we have become farmers watching the renaissance of the hunter/killer.

   How are you going to educate and socialise a society that survives only by killing…?? and will… with absolute certainty…kill you…!!

13. I never believed the official story from the first. Sometime in early 2000 I had a dream in which I was in a news room in a skyscraper with Dan Rather when a mysterious force I called the Time Lords in the dream teleported me out of the building just before it collapsed. By the time 9/11 happened I’d lost any faith I had left over from my naive and patriotic youth that the official story told on the news is any kind of truth. It’s entertainment pure and simple, entertainment with Profit as its god, not Truth.

    But the more I learn the crazier it seems that anyone could believe this. The lack of plane debris at the Pentagon and where flight 93 supposedly crashed, the fact that if jet fuel could burn hot enough to melt steel you couldn’t use it inside a jet engine, us being told that the buildings collapsed because of the planes when there’s no way they would have collapsed so neatly even if jet fuel could melt steel…you don’t even have to dig any further than the official footage to know it’s all a sham.

    It would seem that the architects of this disaster were cynically counting on the stupidity of the masses to get away with this, the fear and trembling that makes people want to cry “kooky conspiracy theorist” when anyone claims that 9/11 was an inside job rather than admit that their childish vision of authoritay might be wrong. What Eric and Melissa posted makes it even more obvious. Will there ever be enough of us to drown out the noise?

14. Melissa here. We haven’t spoken in quite some time.

    I’ve been watching your growing interest around the events of 9/11, and felt I needed to share something with you. As a hard core Scorp, I knew all was not as it seemed shortly after these events played out.

    So I began digging, and came up with some info that let me know inside–with utter certainty–what was really behind the buildings being brought down. I found information about the WTC buildings being under threat of condemnation by the NY Port Authority.

    It seems that the metal skin that forms the innermost outer layer of the buildings’ exterior had suffered devastating corrosion. If I remember correctly, this layer of skin was aluminum.  The extreme corrosion of this layer put the buildings at serious risk.

    Larry Silverstein was given a certain amount of time by the NY Port Authority to correct the problem. He had already done engineering studies and had solicited bids on the repairs. It turned out that it would cost something like $2.3 billion just to erect the scaffolding needed to do the repair.

    Clearly, the repair itself would have been an astronomical figure, since it was an underlying layer that needed replacing.

    By the time 9/11 happened, he was very close to the deadline imposed by the Port Authority for either repairing the buildings or having them be condemned.  This would have been a financial catastrophe for Larry, since all his tenants would have to evacuate. So rather than SPEND money to fix his problem, Larry Silverstein found a way to MAKE money by getting the insurance company to pay for his soon-to-be-condemned buildings.

    I also read that the elevator company had been doing an “engineering” project in the buildings for the past year.

    They were working in the elevator shafts every single day.  All of the building columns are accessible from the elevator shafts. Clearly, the columns were being rigged with explosives in preparation for the ‘surprise attack’ that would solve Larry’s devastating problem.

    As I read this information, my inner voice let me know I had found a huge chunk of the truth. I went on to read information about the Bush and Bin Laden families working together to use this situation to advance their respective goals.

    I even read that George and Osama were in a restaurant together in the vicinity when the fun began. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised…the two families are old friends, going back generations. In the end, what we watched on TV that day with respect to the buildings was a cold, hard real estate transaction that required collateral damage to execute.  Pure and simple.  I have zero doubt in my own heart and soul.  I recognize truth when I hear it, and from the moment I learned about the NY Port Authority’s impending condemnation, I knew what happened to the buildings.

    Amazingly, I didn’t save the links where I found all this info.  But you’re an investigative journalist, so I’m sure you can find it again. As for me, I continue longing for the day when this truth finally comes to light. You know what they say (and it’s always true)…follow the money trail when you’re looking for answers to convoluted questions.

    Like the proverbial trail of breadcrumbs, the money trail will always lead you correctly.

15. Fe, yes — is it any wonder that bully-ing is so prevelant in our schools and workplace? The Bully R Us.

    When Corporate America went out to infiltrate the rest of the globe, one thing that happened was their inability to do business using American Management and people. Soon, corporate america learned to adapt and adopt local people and customs. To what end? Well, for this disucssion, I would have to say that is simply points to what you point to – that we as American’s have always been willing to take the short end of the stick — when corporate american came knocking at OUR door, we had no other ethics, values or morals with with to negotiate — because we were already here working for it and deeply entrenched economically in being a part of the Bully.

    Other economies have already surpassed us. China concerns me because of their lack of concern for both people and environment. Hm – wait! That sounds familiar.

    Anyway, fer sure you are right, we must eat a cornfield full of crow to get past this one and grow up as a nation.

17. Excellent writing as always. I have been suspicious of the whole “official” 9-11 deal for a long time. Between corporate America doing their best to make sure the American workforce is so dumbed down (education cuts) and desperate (high unemployment) while raking in egregious profits elsewhere, there is that issue of following the money for the whole 9-11 thing.

    I truly think that people here are just not ready to face the evidence that our corporate masters and government serfs would DO this to us just to grab power and more profits. The betrayal that means runs so deep that most people don’t want to deal with it.

    See, corporate powers that run this kind of thing know that if you give the masses “just enough” they will not revolt because they are unwilling to lose what they do have. We have it better than most other countries so we delude ourselves into thinking that our goivernment and the corporate war machine would not, could not be that openly nefarious.

    Well they can and we, the dumbed down and consumptive masses, have let them. Living beyond our means makes us unwilling to go back to simpler living. A decade of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” while deregulation was going on kept us chasing that “wealth” that would never come. We cannot aspire to that lifestyle because it is killing us and our planet.

    The more people pull back, consume less, deal with less, the better off we will be. Oh it will hurt at first but if we “just do it” we will be better off. The sooner we face what was done to us, find some redress, and change what we will tolerate, the sooner we can grieve and move on from this festering wound that just won’t heal.

    Killing “the other” isn’t healing us; we should have known it wouldn’t because that NEVER works…NEVER. We have to STOP the killing and occupation in both Iraq and Afghanistan, get out of those countries and INVEST in Pakistan to help the flood victims. We need to start SHARING with one another instead of feeding into the “every man for himself” ideology.

    We need to face 9-11 and the TRUTH of what THEY did to US. This article you wrote is a perfect way to start. Thank you Eric and everyone else who worked on this piece; you are the voices of reason in the wilderness of chaos.

18. This is from my 2002 article, Were It So, investigating the lack of an airplane crash at the Pentagon. At the end of the article I talk about Operation Northwoods. This is taking place in 1962 — so imagine the scenario being played out with technology that would now be 48 years old. Bobby Kennedy put the kibosh on Operation Northwoods.

    Body of Secrets by James Bamford (Doubleday, 2001) tells the story of how, in the 60s, the National Security Agency (NSA, the parent agency of the CIA) planned to create terrorist attacks in Miami, or hijack American passenger airliners, and blame the Cubans.

    Salon.com writes in its review of this book, “Among the more shocking things Bamford learned is that in 1962, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff approved something called Operation Northwoods. Fortunately never implemented, it involved committing random acts of terror on Americans in the United States and then blaming them on Cuba. Most of the documents detailing this Bamford found in the National Archives, among the thousands of papers the Joint Chiefs of Staff released about the Cuban missile crisis. ”

    The idea behind these actions was to basically justify a total military takeover of Cuba, which threatened us because it was a communist country, which has far better literacy and public health than does the US. (It still is communist, and we are still blockading Cuba, though no takeover plot has ever succeeded.)

    “We could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba. Casualty lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation,” Bamford quotes one NSA document as stating.

    “We could develop a communist Cuban Terror campaign in the Miami area and other Florida cities, and even in Washington. The terror campaign could be pointed at Cuban refugees seeking refuge in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans en route to Florida (real or simulated). We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the united states even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicized.”

    Nice guys!

    “We could create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enrouye from the United Stares to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any groupings of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.”

    The same document continues with the rather interesting details of the plan.

    “An aircraft at Eglan aircraft base would be painted and numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft belonging to a CIA proprietary organization in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be substituted for the actual civil aircraft and would be loaded with the selected passengers all boarded under carefully prepared aliases. The actual registered aircraft would be converted to a drone, a remotely controlled unammed aircraft. Takeoff times of the drone aircraft and the actual aircraft would be scheduled to allow a rendez-vous south of Florida. From the rendez-vous point the passenger-carrying aircraft will descend to minimum altitude and go directly into an auxiliary field at Eglan Air Force Base, where arrangements would have been made to evacuate the passengers and return the aircraft to its original status. The drone aircraft, meanwhile, will continue to fly the filed flight plan. When over Cuba, the drone will be transmitting on the international distress frequency a mayday message stating he is under attack by Cuban MiG aircraft. The transmission will be interrupted by destruction of the aircraft, which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO radio stations in the western hemisphere to tell the US what has happened to the aircraft instead of the US trying to ‘sell’ the incident.”

    SO here’s the deal:

    What if accepting the lie as truly a lie, meaning 9-11 was a false flag event, means you would have to admit that you’re no longer the big stud on the block anymore? This is what we’re being told, and why the “They attacked us on 9-11” is forcefeeding the opiated pablum.

    While we are play-faking the role of the International Bully whose job it is to sit on the world, the rest of our former adversaries are reaping financial recovery and coming up to speed, soon to supplant us economically. We are paying a national price with our just desserts, and still with international consequences.

    It should come as no surprise that the big US corps are not so invested in us having jobs and a secure future retirement for America and Americans. They want to run up the bill, unregulated. They’ve offshored their national allegiance and profited by everything they stood to gain with investments that benefitted from instability in the regions affected.

    Actually, this is what makes me fear for the midterm elections and Iran. We need to stay stable, at least, for better or worse, under this President, so the AGENDA of permanent warfare in the Middle East is waylaid and the window of opportunity for further mayhem under the crazybaggers and the corporate Repo-men passes.

    I know this reeks of CT (conspiracy theory), but I can’t imagine other scenarios given what we’re paying for now from 2002-2008.
