P.S. The snooker table was still standing there except it was hidden and unusable under a gazillion books!
LOLZ Beth — your comment and that beautiful display of books above made me think of my dear uncle who was a bibliomaniac. He used to take his car out to book fairs around Ireland and return with the vehicle completely STUFFED with books, much to the scolding of his wife never to bring another book into the house!
I took a friend to see his awesome house one time and wanted to show him the snooker room (it was a huge house) which I had frequented as a child on summer visits. Damn if the room didn’t resemble a maze with books floor to ceiling every which way and not a snooker table in sight! When he had to downsize and sell his house due to my Aunt’s illness he bought two houses — one for both of them and one for his collection of books!!!
Thank you Eric and Geoff AND Beth!
Hot diggity dog! “All the good stuff” This photo encompasses a girls wet dream. I love books, I love old books — perhaps a rock on that shelf. Sacred text, almost better than therapy Thursday’s. Thank you Eric, Thank you Geoff!
