bro eric,
me and the dead people here on a sunday working at the funeral home.
just listened to the june 16th audio message – listened to it three times from the 14th minute forward because the build up and release was sooooooo enjoyable. thanks for the ‘pointing out’ instruction!
written with gratitude from my desk made of/with oil, with my keyboard made of/with oil, sent on my computer made of/with oil, on wires made of/with oil, to your screens made of/with oil while you sip your drink in a cup made of/with oil reading through your glasses made of/with oil ……………
OMFG – it’s going to take a revolution to change this nexus.
(laughing hysterically again)
Linda
Thank you Eric for another awesome, intelligent and divinely inspired Friday edition!!
My vertical Axis is within a few degrees of the aries point. Juno exactly opposite Jupiter exact in the same signs (haha, that one broke loose already, oddly enough)
For weeks I feel magnetic pull on my feet, my sacred heart and my head, all of them throbbing…
and damn, but i feel like a baby chick trying to break through its own shell , tired yet driven by some primitive force, to live is not saying enough, only little pieces of the shell, sometimes, and sometimes big big windows until I think I am almost out…
I have no idea where I would be without the guidance of you, our astrologer, and Planet Waves,
xox
There is so much information in your weekly audio, Eric, that I had listened to it a couple of times trying to take it all in.
Then I saw the chart for this week and I finally got it. OMG there’s a cardinal cross coming right on the Aries Point! O, o, o, big fun a comin’.
It happens that I have a bunch of stuff right around the first degree of Libra, that’s my personal aries point connection.
My natal sun is at 2 Libra and my mars is at 0 libra. My jupiter is in a loose conjunction at 10 Libra.
So I guess Saturn is going to slam right into all that, while Uranus/Jupiter opposes all that, while Pluto squares all of that!
Wowee.
Well I can only hope this will bring constructive opportunities. I have been through big Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto aspects before (not sure about Uranus) and lived to tell the tale.
Keep the readings coming. More interesting now than ever.
gg
You’re welcome, Paola. I’m going to take a look at my natal juno too.
And speaking of juno, the Prop 8 trial in CA came to a close on Wednesday. Would love to hear astrological thoughts on that one!

Thank you Eric and Patricia.
Lots of information to integrate.
I was first intrigued by Juno when I realized that it’s right on my Aries Point, and it’s the only ‘thing’ I have there or on any of the other three related points.
It has pretty good aspects.
So I’ll ‘reflect’ about it today.
Here is a PS on interpretation.
We have a lot of concepts of “what a relationship is” and “what a partner is supposed to be” including one’s own role as such. Women are given a lot more of this baggage than men (Simone de Beauvior explains this in The Second Sex). So Juno represents this conceptual level, and that often needs to be taken apart.
If a person has Juno close to the ascendant, they can be overly identified with the role of wife or spouse. Similar for conjunct the Sun.
We are about to have a solar eclipse conjunct Juno in Cancer. This is about letting go of a whole emotional level of this partner concept — tons of attachment. It also reminds me of a funny tale from the birth of Apollo and Artemis, the twins of Leto, who gave birth to the Sun and the Moon on the island Delos. Leto was in labor and it was hard labor because, you know, the Sun and Moon are big. Hera (Greek proto Juno) delayed the arrival of the midwife-goddess (I forget her name) because she was jealous that Zeus had impregnated Leto.
There are some fun myths here about how Leto chose Delos to give birth (everyone was terrified of Hera) but suffice it to say that Juno conjunct a solar eclipse is a clue that the Hera archetype is jealous even of the Sun and the Moon!
There is no definitive source on asteroids; their interpretation is highly specific to the philosophy of the astrologer, which includes their theory of the minor planets.
On the simplest level, Juno describes a primary concept of bonding; or a concept of primary relationship. A conversation or two with the client will give some details, which combined with the chart, will bring the point (by point, I mean planet) to life.
However, Juno is loaded with mythological baggage and when delineating minor planets you have to be careful how you work with that stuff. She was cheated on by Jupiter. He seemed to fuck and impregnate everyone. She was implacably jealous — ridiculously so. So on the first level, in the myth, this is not the story of a happy marriage between the King and Queen of Heaven but — it is in a sense a union of convenience and it’s the union that was. The Greeks and their successors, the Romans, were always commenting on human nature, and neither culture was particularly friendly to women. Remember that we drag in a lot of the baggage is from that Greco-Roman model of perception. Martha Wescott, accordingly, says that Juno represents scorekeeping in relationships and the bone of contention in a relationship, so watch for that; but it’s not the whole story, however.
Juno, as the Queen of Heaven, certainly had some options open to her, but she does not seem to have exercised the ones more oriented on growth. Her jealousy degraded to control. So with Juno, look for how jealousy plays a role, and look for the role that jealousy is given by the person. Is it considered insurmountable? Is it sexy? Is it an experience devoted to growth?
One of my takes on Juno is that she represents the chart owner’s original concept of the marriage partner — that is, the notion of what a primary partner was supposed to be, from childhood on. That concept may change over the course of a lifetime, and hopefully it does!! Juno is a useful point to hold open from a direct interpretation, in the first round, and to fill in with what the person’s prejudices are. This is why it’s important to ask and to listen to their story of marriage and ideas about marriage, including what they got from their parents, who are the “King and Queen of Heaven” to a kid.
Any point will be modified by aspects. Look at the aspects. Juno square Saturn is gives a sense of confinement. Juno conjunct Jupiter is a sense of divine consorts. Juno trine Chiron would open the way to healing through the relationship. Juno conjunct Vesta might be a sexless marriage, or one oriented on service.
Oh, Paola, if you look at the last line of each entry on the google results you’ll see the web address in green and then next to that you’ll see the word “cached” in blue. If you click on “cached”, the page you’ll pull up will have the keywords I used highlighted for easy spotting in the articles.
Just a tip.

For those curious who are not yet subscribers, here is an excerpt of my article today:
Great, great article.
I’d like to know more about Juno. I couldn’t find much on the internet: she was Jupiter’s wife, represents equality in marriage and relationships, represents also rituals.
Anybody knows where I can find more information on its meaning in astrology? Thanks!
Eric,
Oh my. Talk about synchronicity and collective subconscious and all that. My astrology teacher (bless her soul) was Beth Underwood and she lived in Phoenix Arizona for many years before she moved to San Diego and then back to Arizona. She passed away from complications due to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She taught me esoteric astrology based on…yep Alice Bailey’s work. It is unfortunate that I remember so little of all of that (too much time between then and now) but she explained it well and your most excellent writing today brought it all back for me. It amazes me that you are able to articulate the concepts that well because she told me way back then (this was in 1984-85) that most astrologers didn’t like Bailey’s work much because they found it hard to understand.
As always your writing is spot on and timely. It explains a lot for me. Thanks!
kyla, cheers! b’day is june 28. hope your roller-coaster ride is fabulous! sisterly love, bj
Hey Eric,
I’ve been reading Planet Waves for years and have enjoyed not only your astrological insights, but also your intelligent, journalistic experience, the beautiful photographs, and your approachability.
A month or two ago I decided to take the plunge and subscribe.
I’m a double Pisces with a T-Square in the early Cardinal signs (lacking Capricorn). With Pluto now in place making a Grand Cross, and all the other powerful squares and oppositions, and Chiron in Pisces, I wanted to hear as much as you had to say!
Also, I really appreciate the edginess you bring to astrology (that piece you wrote on masturbation was so original and interesting–thank you for that).
And one more thing, a compliment on your staff–Chelsea in particular. When I had signed up for the subscription and also the audio of Chiron through Pisces, I had a question about how to get it onto my ipod. Chelsea wrote back and forth with me for days trying to help (I know it was above and beyond her duties at Planet Waves).
So, you guys are so cool and I love being a part of the community!
Thanks,
— M.
Eric,
A brilliant piece of astrology writing and the most lucid explanation of Esoteric Astrology yet. I think most astrologers ignore Alice Bailey’s book because it is too much work to figure it out. This article is a showpiece for how a background as an investigative reporter works in this context. You have the action(eclipses and grand cross), the historical background for it(past astrology), the present day understanding(recent events), and the “expert commentary” on the situation via Alice Bailey. Complex and difficult concepts brought into a form understandable by the unitnitiated-superb.
I will print this out an put it up on the wall-the only explanation I’ve ever seen for my mutable grand cross that makes any sense in my life. Many blessings upon your head.
Bobbyjane, me too, on the 27th. Hey there sister. 😉
Just reading about the guy In Utah on death row for 25 years then shot by firing squad. Wow. Humans are really something aren’t they?
fantastic info about the cardinal cross. finally gives me some perspective. my solar return is june 27, trying to remember to go with the flow instead of hanging on tight! thanx for your great gifts! bj
