Hmm. Well, I just finished reading Friday’s subscriber edition. There was lots of good stuff in there that I didn’t already know, so I generally applaud all the good reporting that Eric is doing.
As for the “cock-eyed” idea that somebody somewhere has the ability to create environmental disasters….well, I am more partial to my own cock-eyed idea, which is that we are all causing these disasters.
I happen to think there could be some validity to the idea that the melting glaciers are causing earthquakes, because they weigh millions or gazillions of tons, and as they melt, that weight is gone and it lets the tectonic plates start to shift around, which causes earthquakes.
Of course there could still be a little bald man with cat in a shiny room (wasn’t that the “Spy who Shagged Me’?), I suppose many folks would consider the HAARP idea less outlandish than my glaciers-melting idea.
But I do think we ought to start taking responsibility for what we are collectively doing to the environment, and stop trying to find someone else to blame. We are all to blame — fior among other things, tolerating nuclear energy, which is supplying one-third of the power it takes me to type this post.
..I got some ideas.. howabout someone throttles kaddafi, we turn off all the nukes, we slap the shit out of Isreal and Palestine, we take Amhidinajad out and beat his ass, we turn right back around and give tenure to everyone on the planet, then we tax the Rich, give to the poor, and then teach the poor to stand up for themselves,.. while we make sure the rich give to the poor, then.. we make sure all are fed and clothed and warm and happy enough with their positions in life that they might contribute to this shining ball of blue.
Or, I can just go nuts.

Wow…your revelation of the meaning attributed to Betelguese set of the fire alarms in my emotional body. I’ve got the Dragon’s Tail there, with a retrograde Saturn sitting on the Northern Solstice Point. My progressed Saturn is currently right there. “Rare engines of war” were around in the time of William Lily. He was probably familiar with the story of the siege of Constantinople which was the first time cannons were used so extensively. I forgot the exact date and don’t know if there’s an accurate time for the first cannon shot, but I bet something focal is on that degree.
As for me I’ve felt most of my life like I’m recovering from post traumatic stress. In its present form it’s been verbal abuse and media overdose. I guess the south node represents something fading from memory so the energy is downgraded from city under siege to verbal warfare in the home. But then I think the verbal warfare and physical abuse that goes on in the privacy of people’s homes is a direct echo of times of war and the fact that our present society spends more on heavy weaponry than it does on anything else, like social resources that might have prevented all of the incidents of kids shooting masses of people with guns.
I’ve always felt like the nodes describe the basic story arc of a person’s life. In all the charts I’ve read it seems like everything else in the chart relates to the story of the movement from tail to head. The Dharma of the head can indeed change the vibe of the Karma of the tail. I feel like it’s my Dharma to not transmit the abuse I’ve inherited. North node in Sag…I guess that’s where the Asian body wisdom practices come in.
9th house to 3rd house…I probably have ancestors who survived the siege of Constantinople, echoes of that fear still sounding in the way my mother and grandmother talked to me as a kid. My grandfather’s experiences in WWII still echoed in the vibe of his qi when I was born, an emotional resonance I could feel under his cold silence.
Probably all of us have incredibly old ancestral memory of the last time Gaia’s climate was in chaos…between 10 and 17 thousand years ago the last ice age melted and there were undoubtedly many occurrences of cities and villages swallowed by tsunamis. The valley where I live is so incredibly fertile now because a catastrophic flood came down the Columbia River Gorge back then and brought us a bunch of soil nutrients from further east where the ice dam burst. If there were any people here I doubt you’d find anything left of them.
Barbara Hand Clow called it ‘catastrophobia’. I think she’s a bit tin foil hat on her facts, but nailed it on identifying the core bogey man behind humanity’s collective fear and the insane drive to control every last detail of existence that’s creating a replay of the last major planetary catastrophe that freaked us out.
I think it was you, Eric who spoke to the need to awaken ingenuity and neutralize fear. That’s the medicine for catastrophobia as far as I’m concerned.

Interesting about 28Geminii/Betelgeuse – I’ve got a handful of asteroids there; one is Leukothea who’s story is similiar to that of Sedna and another called Pyrrha who was the female survivor of the infamous flood of Zeus when it was he who decided to call it quits for the human race.

In opposition however, I have literally a PAGE (serennu.com) of objects gathered around the GAL Center. Maybe that’s status quo visavis astronomy, that is, maybe everyone does since the galaxy is headed that way – ? –but I find it to be a powerful statement about the strength of our “home” as you so aptly put it versus this “force to be reckoned with” at 28Geminii.
