Thank you so much Eric, for bringing Johnny Cash to the forefront as we are dipping strongly into Pisces in all of it’s glory and travail. He brought it all together in himself actually and touched the world and people the way I wish I could, and that we all could. He actually did, by bringing attention to the “correctional” (a term not used then) system prompt change for the better in a set-up where that is nearly an oxzymoron. I now am not so non- plussed about Neptune into Pisces after considerin him and his life. Helps me frame the current astrology in a a better, fuller perspective. I watched him and June on U-Tube for quite a while after I opened this article.
Johnny transcended all of the usual boundaries and prejudices, just like a good Pisces artist would. He’s the one thing the whole US can agree on. That said, he got a lot of projection (racist rednecks sometimes thought he was one of their own, according to a family source) so he had to deal with that. Watching this I am reminded again what a truly radical, loving gesture it was for him to go into these prisons and perform live, for free, doing something for the people that so few care about or acknowledge.
I listen to Johnny’s American albums quite often. I am not a fan of country music, but there is something so compelling about him. I think I fell in love with him when I was a little girl; some of my earliest memories of the 60’s. His American albums, especially “Aint no Grave” seeps into my bones. There is and never will be anyone like him.
He touched so many men, ones that no one else cared about, and gave them hope. If you want to learn a little history, just listen to his music with an open heart and mind, whatever style of music you enjoy. The American albums do that, helping us step into the shoes of other realities and times. These albums are basically unplugged, raw Johnny. You buy one, you want more and more.
He was one of those people that spread love without fanfare. I don’t even think he realized that most of the time. He just was.
..I don’t know what to make of that?.. Johnny Cash rocks,.. San Quentin sucks!..
..The shear volume of b.s. that must work it’s way through the institutional systems??.. ..if we took the time and attention to sort it all through (I think that was in my head?..).
We’ve got a very long road to unravelment. (Unless of course, the Aries vibe doesn’t just crack it all open!.. Could be fun!?!).
