Haiti relief help needed

Dear Cousin of Planet Waves:

My friend Karen Pardini just called me, sounding unusually stressed for a midwife/EMT/search & rescue gal. I’m taking that means she means it: she asked me to help her recruit help on a Haiti earthquake relief project.

She is working with the group Yele Haiti, helping coordinate relief efforts from her base here in the Hudson Valley. She needs local assistance, on a volunteer basis (gas money will be reimbursed). The location of the work is in the Clove Valley of High Falls. You may not know Karen but if you read Planet Waves, you’ve seen lots of photos of the land she lives on.

She needs someone who is good on computers, with organizing and with housework. Computers means knowing Excel and being good with email, including being able to take dictation, and transpose that into an email. The project would begin immediately. If you can get here soon, she or I can accommodate you for a few days.

Please reply to me by email at dreams@planetwaves.net and copy to sarah@planetwaves.net. Be clear about your experience and availability. She will need you for as many days as you can help; more than one person would be welcome; she said that with two or three days of assistance she could get caught up and back on solid ground. Please be clear-headed and responsible. The level of work would be that of a doula assisting a midwife: my job description is “digital doula.”

Please pass this email around: but don’t use the “FWD” button — for the sake of neatness, copy and paste it into a new email and send it to your contacts here in the HV.

Thank you!
Eric Francis Coppolino

  1. fab…thank you…if I don’t hear from someone soon I will mail to all our lists. I’ve covered some node points in the HV, sent to friends with big address books. Thanks Mandy
