Daily Astrology: A Meeting Place

Garden of Earthly Delights - Gemini solar eclipse. Photo by Eric.

Today is Thursday, June 2, 2011. As the Sun and Moon begin the separation from their conjunction in Gemini (the New Moon and a partial solar eclipse), both are still trine Saturn in Libra: an aspect of opening, flow, movement and accord. Today we take in this new day after the eclipse with a sense of having accomplished something real. Eclipses are rites of passage, and even if those are subtle, they are meaningful. Give yourself credit for what you’re doing, processing, letting go of, and creating as your new agenda.

You may not feel like much is happening at first thought, but if you made some headway to lighten up your day-to-day relationships, punched a hole into the paper-thin walls preventing you from reaching someone else on the other side in a solid, gentle way, then you’ve ridden the Moon conjunct the Sun all the way to the beach. If you planted some seeds of thought to help others get out of self-imposed prisons that have prevented them from reaching the full potential of who they are, you have ridden this eclipse all the way in to home. It’s about opening yourself and inspiring others to the possibility of light that can free you to be fully you. That’s something called love.

The Sun and Moon now race on, their orbits soon to reach an exact opposition to the Great Attractor at 14 Sagittarius; the Moon is doing this now, and the Sun will do so over the next few days. Are we ready to stand up for what we want, come what may? This is an interesting pop quiz for your day: what have you resolved for yourself that will take you through the next three months? The next six months? This is not a trick question, but a way to continue the conversation you need to have with yourself. Hang in for the best. You deserve it. Remember that we still have two eclipses ahead of us in the next month — a total lunar eclipse on June 15 (covered in detail with the June monthly horoscope, and again in this Friday’s subscriber edition) and another partial solar eclipse, though this time in Cancer; that is on July 1.

In case you missed yesterday’s podcast, there’s a lot in there about eclipses in general and in particular, Wednesday’s eclipse in Gemini. That post is right below.

  1. This gives me the idea to photograph the forest from floor level. I love the change of perspective. This was an old, uninhabited web, photographed at about 6 after the eclipse. The Sun is low over the mountain — the Moon is there too.

  2. i am loving this photo. it makes me feel like a very wee person. or a very large bug. it’s gorgeous and fun.

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for this. That’s all. I just really needed to say thank you. Thank you!

  4. Heya,

Yes, I’ve just looked at your little “checklist”, and yes, I did in fact do all that stuff! And I am going to give myself credit for the processing – they are very small steps, but very important ones. And the answer to the question before the pop quiz is “Yes” (and that should provide the answer to the quiz question itself).

    So, yes, yes, and yes.

    I call that a good day – here’s to many more…

    Thanks,

    🙂

  5. Fe,
Thank you for words of validation and affirmation to go with Eric’s tools of empowerment. Between the two of you, the Planet Waves community is being well nourished.
