Hi guys, I am taking a day off from editing and writing this blog. If you need me, I’ll be sitting in my kitchen writing Taurus Confidential. There is, by the way, an interesting, almost daily diary at Cosmic Confidential that most of you have not seen. Have a look, it’s pretty fun, and the posts go back for about three weeks. Please note, if you contribute to this blog as a commenter, your log and pass will work for the Cosmic Confidential diary. To customers of this product, this blog is to keep you informed and entertained as I work through the process of doing the interpretations, which will come out after Mercury stations direct. The CC diary is becoming something of a retrospective of the last 11 years of Planet Waves annual editions, which I now recognize as a rare and beautiful Internet tradition.

Eric – Thank you for the reminder about the Daily Diary. Speaking of chilling. Great self protrait in the restroom mirror at Taco Juan’s. At least they seem to provide toilet paper if not heat.
In other news today…
Sea lions have mysteriously disappeared from their usual hangout at Pier 39 in San Francisco. Wonder what they know that we don’t.
Russia has announced a plan to send a probe to near-Earth asteroid Apophis (named after the ancient Egyptian sun-eating snake, currently at 16 degrees Capricorn) to nudge it into an orbit that would make it less likely to collide with oour planet. Calculated to come within 18,000 miles in 2029, currently the odds for impact are 1-in-250,000 for 2036 and 1-in-330,000 for 2068. Details still need to work out but they have apparently ruled out a nuclear device. Wonder what they know that we don’t.
The “blue moon” on New Year’s Eve is the first in 19 years, the same amount of time it takes for the lunar nodes to move all the way around the zodiac. Cool how that works, huh?
Jupiter is applying sextile to the Galactic Center and Venus is gradually catching up with the Sun. Maybe we should take a clue and cuddle.
