It would be best to disengage your mind from discovering “what this is all leading to” and wiser to stay with the immediate sense of what you are learning, and how you feel as this happens. In truth, there is no such thing as a simple person, but you are also in a position to have a deep sense of the complexity of the people close to you. There are different words to describe this, perhaps look them up: empathy, sympathy, simpatico, resonance. Words aside, you understand intuitively that there are experiences that run through the underground well that connects the entire human family, and have for all of time. That is a great gift. But the greater gift will be teaching the people around you how not to use their pain against themselves, or against others.
