Astrology this Week

On Saturday, Mars is conjunct Orcus, and the conjunction is closely applying every day until then — that is, in full force and increasing every day. Orcus has dominion over punishment of those who break oaths. Orcus is hot and fiery. Keep your promises this week.

Dear Friend and Reader:

Good morning and thank you for that break. I am back, as a contributor to this feature, no longer its sole author. These plans will develop over the next few weeks as as we create a new format for Daily Astrology & Adventure.

Eric Francis

Thank you Rachel Asher for keeping the flow going so creatively. Thank you to the readers who contributed comments. The floor is now open – please send your ideas, questions and comments on world events, personal events or astrology to Rachel at editorial (at) planetwaves.net. [Note, I am not using the @ symbol so that spam robots don’t collect the address.]

Mondays this blog will have a feature giving a brief overview of the week’s astrology. It will be researched by Genevieve Salerno, and she and I will develop the commentary. For this week we did the research together using Rapheal’s Ephemeris and Serennu.com one excruciatingly hot night about two weeks ago.

Week Ahead, June 23

After reviewing the astrology that evening (a process of considering it intellectually, and feeling the movements intuitively), I came up with two ideas that the aspects seem to point to.

First: use tension productively. Second: what haven’t you discussed with your partner? We’ll see where the first observation comes from; I don’t remember. The second one comes from Juno square Logos. Juno is the archetype of the “established relationship.” it is generally marriage-like, has elements of a contract, and on the low end of the vibrational scale, is characterized by jealousy and scorekeeping. Logos has many levels, but the most elemental is language.

Mercury is still direct. (Three months till the next retrograde, but sometimes it feels like ten minutes.)

23 Monday: Waning Moon conjoins Chiron and occults Neptune in the early hours of Monday morning. This is a high-pressure aspect set, with the pressure coming from invisible, subtle levels and manifesting as an unrecognized or unaccounted-for feeling, hunch, belief or subtle mental irritation. Well, Chiron is not subtle, and a sense of actual injury may be involved. You may figure out that you were being lied to. Please don’t deny it. Late-degree Aquarius Moon the opposes Mars (volatile) and then enters Pisces at 3:32 pm EDT; and soon trines the Sun, Ceres, and Venus in Cancer. This is a lot of water. Juno square Logos.

24 Tuesday: Mars in Leo is semisquare Jupiter in Capricorn. This could be the product of some form of concealed ideological pressure. Jupiter is retrograde. Mars is very much not retrograde. Mars wants answers from Jupiter in Capricorn. Who is who? Well, let’s see: Mars is the likely provocateur, protagonist or aggressor; Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn feels like somebody is trying to be the rear guard; the guardian of non-progress based on supposed wisdom. Should be an interesting discussion.

25 Wednesday: Moon enters Aries at 10:49 pm EDT. Sun sextile Saturn. This looks like it’s restoring a little stability, and the fiery Moon will feel like a lift and relief from the intensely emotional sense of the Pisces Moon.

26 Thursday: Uranus stations retrograde in Pisces. It’s been standing nearly still for weeks; it now moves back toward Jupiter sesquiquadrate Saturn.

27 Friday: Venus trine Psyche, Sun trine Hidalgo. These are two aspects that signify opening up a discussion about troubling subject matter.

28 Saturday: Moon enters Taurus at 2:50 am EDT. Sun conjunct Ceres. Mars conjunct Orcus; Orcus has dominion over punishment of those who break oaths. Keep your promises this week. Orcus is hot and fiery.

29 Sunday: Venus in Cancer semisquare Mars in Leo. Look for a possible hidden conflict that surface later in a more dramatic form if it’s not addressed now.

Next week is the Cancer New Moon, so we will be moving into the extreme waning phase of the Moon; both the Sun and Moon will be close to the Aries Point. I’ll be back with commentary on that sequence of events Monday.

Yours & truly,

Eric Francis

Oracle for today takes us back to April 14, 2006: Leo – Weekly

Be careful that you don’t let unspoken or unacknowledged fears take hold of your relationships. The best way to prevent that from happening is by saying what you would not normally say, and identifying the emotion associated with it. The time to do so is right when you start to feel stuck. You’re not the type to get lost in the sauce of your own psychological complexity, but then, there are all kinds of cats. When in doubt, try making a few statements that begin with the words, ‘I feel’, ‘I need’, and ‘I’m scared of’. This is a trick that keeps the responsibility for your feelings on you — but allows others to assist if they can.
