Good evening or good morning. I thought I would get a chart going for the suspected security breach at Newark Airport’s C Terminal. Two times are going around (differing by 10 minutes); after some research and deliberation, I’ve used the one published by the Newark Star-Ledger, which is 5:20 pm, the time a man was seen walking the wrong way through the exit from the non-secure area of the airport into the ‘sterile’ area. As a result, the terminal was put on lockdown.
If you’re doing traditional astrology, the chart gives Leo Moon void of course. The last aspect was an opposition to Jupiter (exaggeration; polarized emotions; drama, characterized by the Leo Moon). This is in the 8th house — a good crisis; lots of intrigue; in Aquarius, involving the public, in this case quite directly.
The Moon makes no new aspects to major planets before entering Virgo a few hours later. So by the rules of traditional astrology, this is a non-event. However, it was a really exciting non-event, especially if you were there: the evacuation of a huge terminal; boarded planes being evacuated; all to have thousands of passengers re-screened. Plus, this is all in the context of the recent Underwear Bomber, whose handiwork was the result of a significant security breach — boarding sans passport and avec explosives. With a solar eclipse on the horizon, nerves are naturally tense. With Mercury retrograde, there is the potential for plenty of confusion, which was precisely the scene at Newark last night.
If we look at the chart with extra points and asteroids, the Moon tells an interesting story. It’s exactly conjunct the asteroid Child (simple, all things childish or involving children). It is heading for a conjunction to the asteroid Apollo (repeating actions over and over, failing to learn the lesson, what could this possibly be referring to?). Then it ends its run through Leo with a conjunction to a dependable hypothetical point called Transpluto, which talks about something narrow, focused, restrictive or specific: but we don’t know what. We will find out, however.
On first and perhaps second look, this is a false alarm that’s going to reveal plenty. The last degree of Leo, where Transpluto is sitting (and will be for a while, since it moves very slowly), has one of the more salient Sabian symbols: An Unsealed Letter. The letter is open; Transpluto is sitting there with a focused message of some kind. The Moon is on its way.
What we are finding out, meanwhile, is that if we’re not careful, this will become our new way of life: being terrified of our own shadow. There are not enough soldiers or cops anywhere to protect us from our own fears.
Extra Credit Questions
– Who is the woman on the 10th house cusp? The asteroid is Juno. That would be a government official, or the wife of one, who shows up in authority.
– The ruler of the 10th is Mars, which is retrograde in the 2nd house. That would represent the government, [potentially] covertly dealing with a financial issue. What is this about?
– Look at that nifty setup in the 6th house. There we find Mercury, ruler of the 12th house of secret enemies, about to make conjunctions to both the Sun and Venus. Could this have been some kind of realtime drill, or a test to see what would happen in the event of…what exactly? A little extra fear? Mercury is retrograde in the 6th (military) in Capricorn (government).
– What’s with Saturn exactly in the nadir (4th cusp)?
Note, Sept. 11 and the tsunami both happened with the moon void of course, at 28+ Gemini.
It’s been a heck of a vacation for Pres. Obama, that’s for sure.
Oh no – my husband has moon in Gemini. He doesn’t care a damn about money, but ideology would sway him. He’s also the kind who has bumper stickers to advert the beliefs – another sign you are supposed to be wary of. LOL – too late for him I guess.

On an added note, the House is moving to an informal conference committee with the Senate to make changes on the health care bill, which precludes it being a bi-partisan effort. Shutting the Republicans out.
I think this means Democrats in Congress are batting down the hatches because they themselves need their base to keep their seats for mid-terms when November rolls around.
There are battles going on all around for power, so keeping track of who fingers whose puppet strings is going to be interesting this year.
That was my impression with the Xmas guy – once I had percolated it through. It’s easy to be a crazymaker, and that is the Neocon agenda. We are being compelled as a society to pull together and deal with this. But we have a lot of fear and neurosis to get over in the process, that’s for sure.
Reading this makes me think that the proverbial “they” are trying to make Obama pay the price for passing the health care bill. No matter what we think of it, this means his agenda is getting through.
These little planted land mines are a way to try to weaken him, for heaven knows, the rest of his agenda is as repulsive to the “they” as it can get: new climate change legislation, immigration reform that hopefully doesn’t play to racism…and of course all of this is about the mid-term elections.
Pointless, as such. Particularly under a void moon in Leo conjunct Child: child’s play.
Hmmmm. . . is this a trick question Eric? Juno on the MH is opposite Saturn (more government) on the nadir, and both are squared by Pluto in Capricorn (still more government) in the crowded 6th house. I think you are right and this is some kind of drill or test of response behavior. As you said, Mercury rules the 12th, but, traditionally, he would also rule the 3rd house of Virgo, and we have certainly had plenty of news coverage on this non-event. I’m gonna guess Janet Napalliono (I obviously don’t know how to spell her name) as the Juno person.
I heard on “Morning Joe” (msnbc) this AM that the suicide bomber in the 12/30 Afghanistan incident (that killed 7 CIA people) was a double agent. The Moon was in Gemini, as it was for the Fort Hood attack. That shooter wasn’t exactly a double agent, but he was an American with ties to known terrorists. My first feeling on the Ft. Hood chart was that there was more than one shooter, but now see it refers to the one shooter with dual loyalties/affiliations.
I like what you said about the Moon in this chart and when you said “drama” that made me think of “theater or a “play”, which further corroborates your suggestion of a make-believe drill.
