Wavers,
I’ve just posted some excellent stuff out of the archives on the Cosmic Confidential Diary. Speaking of, today I spent the day working on Sagittarius (in the morning) and then the rest of the day working on Capricorn. It’s really, really interesting working on such project with Mercury retrograde. I feel like I’m digging a tunnel through a mountain. The members side of the site is still veiled from view; but Anatoly has been tuning up that area. Cosmic Confidential Diary is a daily public access site with a different kind of astrology focus than Planet Waves has. If you haven’t visited yet, you are most welcome; and if you’re interested in your Cosmic Confidential annual reading, I suggest you sign up while it’s still at half price. The best deal is to subscribe with Planet Waves Astrology News.

All those dates seem to fall at the beginning of decades defined by conspicuous consumption and classically conservative politics. Looking at the specific dates in Wikipedia, I’m not seeing any other obvious connections.
Interestingly, there is a Saturn-Eris CONJUNCTION in 1967-1968, for all you 60’s fans.
It’s also interesting to note that with one exception, the 1921 exact opposition, all of the oppositions of the 20th Century occurred on the Aries-Libra axis. This is obviously because Eris is such a slow-moving planet. The 19th Century oppositions were predominately on the Virgo-Pisces axis. But the 18th Century oppositions are across 4 axes. That must be because Eris was moving faster then.

When my brain has thawed out – I’ll take a gander – which cycle do you want looking at?
Well, you got me on that one.
It occurred to me — but I haven’t even put it down in a notebook or charted it. But this would definitely qualify as 2012 run-up stuff; and there is an exact opposition, the last for this cycle, in June of 2012, which is a watershed month because of the Venus transit of the Sun that has Mayan astrology painted all over it.
The opposition to Aries Eris extends Saturn’s role as a trigger in the cardinal signs well into 2011, as it moves well past Uranus and Pluto.
Here is a more comprehensive list of the oppositions, calculated by Tracy Delaney. Anyone who wants to take a gander at a historical pattern is welcome to. For reference we might want to look at Uranus-Eris, but let’s leave it at this for now. One cycle at a time.

Yo Eric,
Per nothing in particular, I’ve seen you mention on numerous occasions that there are three big Saturn oppositions of outer planets in the run up to 2012. First there was Saturn/Pluto, then there was Saturn/Neptune, and now there’s Saturn/Uranus. But you’ve missed an important fourth one yet to come: Saturn opposite Eris. The opposition is exact on October 27, 2011 with a near miss on June 27, 2012. Past oppositions in the 20th Century occurred in 1921-1922, 1951-1952, and 1981-1982. Thought you might like to know.

Thank you, Eric, for “Retrogrades and Eclipses: Walk Carefully on that Ice”. You have this knack for hitting the nail squarely on the head. With all you have going on, to have such a clear mind and to express it so succinctly – hats off, dude.
