New subscriber issue is on its way

New issue is on its way.

In this week’s premium subscriber issue, Eric analyzes how Mercury’s retrograde station and squares to Neptune light up the natal chart for Ohio — the state most likely to determine who’s president. Events are shaping up in the context of past ballot machine scandals and a chilling political (and social) atmosphere around women’s reproductive rights. There’s a lot to watch in the coming weeks, including a pair of eclipses.

In addition, this issue feature’s Eric’s monthly horoscopes for November for all 12 signs, plus a substantial group of astro-news briefs. You can get instant-access to all of it with a single-issue purchase here, or a one-month free trial subscription here.

Note — If you become a subscriber, you will be eligible for a significant discount on all 12 signs of Listen: the 2013 Planet Waves Annual Edition. All subscription options are available here.

  1. Ohio? The charming aggressor speaks with forked tongue and has easy access to technological trickery. Beware he doesn’t steal your mind.

  2. “Earlier this week, six scientists and a senior public official were controversially sentenced to six years in jail after being found guilty of not giving adequate warning of the 6.3-magnitude quake killed that 308 people and injured over 1,500 others in the central city of L’Aquila in April, 2009”. Interesting decision. Though they’re putting the wrong people in jail – the ones who should be given a life sentence (cos they really are guilty of murder) are the criminals and mafiosi who are guilty of illegal property and building speculation, erecting flimsy buildings in an earthquake area (not least, the university students hall of residence which was completely destroyed, killing many students), and pocketing the funds.

  3. The expression in personal horoscopes and collective horoscopes will be different, Patty. The thing to do is read her chart carefully, and find out what her Sun position is about. You can start with the house placement, look for where Leo is in the chart, and look for aspects to the Sun.

  4. Len, thanks for responding. It matters because my daughter has that degree in her natal sun, 28 Gemini. What does it mean? My sense of it is that it is the result of another life, but I understand all lifetimes to be running concurrently. To call it a nuclear degree implies a lot of violence, which has been demonstrated through the events that Eric has catalogued as such, but it might not necessarily be this life, might it? I have saturn at 29 Virgo, which is another fun placement and as it happens, venus is transiting there as I write.

  5. ” Remember you’re doing this in a time when there’s a prevailing philosophy that ‘there’s no such thing as the truth’. There’s another notion that the truth is whatever someone can get someone else to believe. As you’ve no doubt noticed, these become excuses for many to abandon integrity. You have a different agenda.”

I get a LOT of grief for this but yes, I DO have a different agenda. This is exactly what I have been going through for a long, long, time. I keep saying that some truths are not negotiable (usually because they deal with harm and not-harm) and I hear the excuses about that and know I cannot buy the excuses because they do mean abandoning my integrity. Swiming against the stream isn’t easy but for me it is like breathing; I must do it and cannot stop.

Such a perfectly worded forecast is amazing indeed.

  6. My sense of this election, and perhaps the new era following it, makes me think of being in a house when all the lights go out. If you’ve been in that situation, let’s say during a storm, and everything suddenly goes black – it’s frightening and disorienting. It’s a shock. That’s the feeling I’m attributing to the election results, and what those results might signal for many of the issues I’m concerned about.
But then, what happens? After the lights have gone out in a storm? After you’ve accepted the fact you can’t see in the pitch black, you call out to friends and family. Maybe you use your own light to find each other, or navigate to the drawer that has the candles. You gather together, finding comfort in your light and closeness, and you wait. For the power to come back on and the sun to come out.
No I don’t have a good feeling about this election, but I have faith it can ultimately usher in some light – we just have to stick to what lights us up personally, internally. And reach out to family, friends, and community in the process.

  7. Patty: First and foremost, my heart goes out to you and all of those who have been up close and personal with the pain endured by the first citizens of the North, Central, and South America when they were pillaged and murdered. Such loss lasts to the end of our days even through generations, and healing is never complete until the events are either forgotten or received by a generation that can find it within them be the ones with whom it ends. Astrology, almost unique among oracular methods can look back and forward, as well as at the present. That capacity allows astrology to demonstrated that all time is present, that there is no partition between past, present, or future; except the separation consciousness, in its present form creates. Thus it is that repeated observation and correlation serve to (borrowing a term from Eric’s thesis on minor planets) “prove” a timeless meaning for celestial objects and zodiac points, such as the Gemini degree Eric has observed, correlated to events and identified according to those events,

  8. Patty,
it’s a degree that was always involved when nuclear disasters happened (recently, Fukushima), or other major events/disasters (ex. twin towers), or nuclear connected facts. So it’s an observation that comes from observation, if I can say.

(do I look like a good student?!?)

  9. I don’t understand 28 Gemini in a birth chart being a nuclear degree. Is it something that already happened in the past, or is it because something is going to happen in the future? A lot of Indians were murdered and/or displaced for the State, but that could be said of every State in the US. Is the chart foretelling a day of reckoning for the actions of the past? I remember a group of Indians discussing the Deleware at my house many years ago, and the fact that other Indians still ostracize them to this day because they gave away the lands. We attended a reburial in Ohio and some Oklahoma Deleware did the ceremony. I will not forget it as long as I live, for how chilling it was. A woman in our group (not a friend, but an Indian activist aquaintance) stole one of the bones and used it in ceremonies (we found out a little later when the father of one of our Indian friends said the spirits told him she was doing this). She ended up in prison. The Deleware were all very humble and spiritual and we loved them. Because of what we learned, my husband went to the DNR and discussed native remains and reburials and because of him, the policy was made for all native remains found in Indiana to be reburied in Indiana. Some other groups were angry about the policy, but they didn’t know how or why it was enacted. It always pays to do the right thing, and it is never that hard to influence decisionmakers and stop evildoers too, as a side bonus.

  10. jinspace…yes! I didn’t mean to infer we have not anticipated water’s participation and impact, rather that some specifics are coming into play.

    xo

  11. aword: I recall Eric forecasting last year that in 2012 water would become a critical issue on many fronts (here come three fronts, all at once).

Excellent newsletter today, though yes, sadly chilling.

  12. Neptune and a “chilling…atmosphere” to be sure. Methods by which we did not heretofore consider possible complications with this election:

    http://www.climatecentral.org/news/hurricane-sandy-aims-for-east-coast-as-a-frankenstorm-15159

“Hurricane Sandy Aims For East Coast As a ‘Frankenstorm’”

“Depending on the exact track of the storm, it could even have impacts as far west as Ohio and western Pennsylvania, which may receive wet snow in higher elevations. And with the presidential election as a backdrop, there could be widespread power outages, including in political swing states such as Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, which could influence voting patterns on Nov. 6, Election Day.”

  13. Yes, you’re so right, Amanda, it’s vitally important ‘to get the word out and the light in’ – even if these things come out so late – the only way to allow healing to take place.

  14. huffy — yes, it really is horrific. i’m hoping that next week i have some *positive* sex-related news to write about. this gets draining, though i would so much rather be part of what gets the word out and the light in, than part of what keeps it hidden and unspoken.

there’s just so much of it…

  15. I just read my Aquarius horoscope for Planet Waves Monthly Horoscope for November 2012. It truly hit in my heart and spirit and brought tears. I understood due some major shifts I have been going through on many levels in this ‘I don’t know how to describe astrological October 2012’. Sincerely -Thank you.

  16. Have only looked at horoscopes so far – and they are out of this world, not only mine, my friends’ and family’s too. Thank you. xx

  17. “four dead in O-hi-o…”

Great post this morning Eric, thank you.

Today’s news includes another lie that Willard Mitt Romney is spreading in Ohio, to wit, Chrysler is going to move all of its car manufacturing to China. Chrysler has already repudiated this Pinocchio tale. This makes me think of your chart analysis of Willard, and the bit about him cracking or having some kind of breakdown. Would increasingly overt lying be part of the dynamic you were naming?
