More Moon

Hello Cousins,

We’re in a discussion about the Moon’s house and sign placement on the subscriber side of Planet Waves, and I would like to invite all readers in. Yesterday I posted an article that introduces the idea of working with the Moon’s sign, house and to some extent, aspects. The easiest way to teach astrology is to demonstrate, so I thought example charts would work well for that. The article links to a discussion page that anyone can participate in if you have an identity on this blog. If you don’t, that takes about a minute to acquire.

I would like to take Planet Waves more in the direction of discussing basic astrology. I do my best in my articles to explain as I go, and I have a lot (and I do mean a whole bunch) of basic ideas presented in a series that ran from 2004-2006 called Astrology Secrets Revealed. I am not sure the format to use, so I’m trying this Moon conversation as an experiment. If you have thoughts about how we might proceed and what topics are the most basic, please add them to this post.

One of our devoted readers who wanders around China asked for a go-over of the signs, so I plan to do that next — and I have an elaborate version of that planned for the 2011 annual.

Anyway — have fun diving in.

Bloody stroke of genius, teaching us astrology! Heh-heh.

Last night I once again immersed myself (astrology/astronomy/mythology = my nightly studies) and something like a #duh* came up that I think puts me on a more, well, prudent track for learning.

It’s regarding houses; Whenever houses come up (re: studying my natal chart and not when you or Len mention them) ’m left wondering “who’s” houses? The planets of the day, those of my natal chart or those equated with my Sun Sign as 1st house? or – ?

Sigh. (Yes, of course there’s meant to be a little drama-queen in that sigh.)

Ok then – I had a !”voila”!! moment and realized that to get out the mucky-muck on this issue of houses that I would apply the same principle I did with learning about Feng Shui – that is, since all the different “methods” just confuse and compound….find the most simple and concise method with two things in mind –

First; this is all about ME, so how I use the tool to discuss ME or ‘My House’ is the point and

Second, that it’s about layering on information and knowledge as I go (like we did when we learned to read, for example) so finding a simple common denominator was the thing to do. And I believe you have pointed it out – the Whole House Method.

‘Cause only here on Planet Waves have I found the astrologer/s kind enough to mention the BASIS upon which their assumptions are made.

    Thanks for that!

  2. Ewic I wuuuuuuv you! Shine on, cousin, shine on! (And see, hope exists when I can finally work out how to log in to post a response on the daily blog…!!) :o)
