Late afternoon, late summer light on trees east of the stream -- on the Grandmother Land in Ulster County, New York. Photo by Eric Francis. The slide, on the Grandmother Land. The water at the bottom of this small waterfall is about six feet deep and though you can't see it here, the space is big enough to paddle around. Photo by Eric Francis.
that’s rumi? sounds like he was more of a rebel than i’ve given him credit for. 🙂
Thank you Eric for sharing these contrasting shots of nature. The light in the first one I find soothing and calm and draws me in to explore more, whereas the patterns of the moving water in the second shot are bursting with such energy and vitality.
I am going to let these natural settings work their way into my busy psyche to calm things down a little as I’m having a hard time sleeping tonight. As I sort out my life that is part breaking free to a brand new manner of expression. A dear friend passed me a Rumi Poem for this journey home I am taking, and it inspired me:
…………………………..
Forget Safety
Live where you fear to live.
Destroy your reputation
Be notorious.

And DarkMary I would like to say that this is in part by way of thanking you for thinking of me *last* Saturday morning :-)) I loved the poem you choose. I was introduced to him earlier in the summer and yeah, wow, his writings works for me. I hope you get my reply to you now.
I’m pooped now, trying to get back to bed, but I’d like to chat more about poetry if we can:

It would be great to gather more poetry plus I have one for you I’d like to share!
Poetry and Nature, perfect ways to calm and soothe the soul.
NiteNite dear friends.
