  1. I had a German Shepard named Lady for many years. She died in 1979, and I still miss her. I didn’t know her sign, because I got her under unusal circumstances. I loved her working-dogness (I didn’t know that term at the time, but boy did she love having something to do) I could slightly tip my chin up, and she would know to get off the bed. Twice, I was walking at night in some city or other, and she stopped, sat down and growled until approaching men passed us by. Good Dog.
I sewed her a back-pack, and she carried groceries, and one time we hiked up in the Okanagon National Forest for almost a month, and she carried her own food, and began to catch her own food as time went on and she lost her city fat.

When she died, her head was laying in my lap. I felt her soul currents moving up her body and out of her head and at the moment she died the spirit that had been in her body stayed around for a few moments. The spirit felt, rather than looked, like radiant light and was intelligent, and I realized then that the spirit in a dog was the same as the spirit in humans, except when incarnated in a dog body, extremely limited in comparison. The human body also limited that spirit, it appeared to me, too, in comparison to what was in the room with me then.

Now, I have what most people would consider a lapdog, which, like Brendan, never appealed to me before. Believe it or not, this little dog has the heart of a German Shepard! He was rescued from a puppy mill under conditions that don’t need to be repeated (kind of like the pepper spray incidents), and I found him on-line. His name is Opie. I don’t know his sign, either. Probably Aries or Taurus. Kat

  2. Icha is beautiful!

I have two GSD’s – Thor and Xena. Most amazing breed. They are my babes and dear to my heart. 🙂

  3. She has a purpose. She was having a little trouble figuring out why she was being suited up (GPS unit and all) and then we’re just gonna sit around and…what’s that clicking sound?

  4. Fishy or not, she’s one beautiful dog! I especially love dogs that have a purpose: none of those lapdogs for me.

Of course, I have a cat, but she does not hang around on laps either. Too many small mammals to persecute and birds to terrorize.

  5. I like how Icha has one ear turned to the side, almost like she’s tuned into something we can’t see. Sounds like she’s all Fish!
