it’s a street lamp…this is taken on a 200mm lens, on a tripod, at a distance of about 2 meters from the plant….I plan to redo the shot, and get it sharp in the front…that catcus is amazing, I should name her
If that’s a streetlamp that’s pretty neat the way it is snuggled in under the cactus’ plate.
I was going for the Arizona/New Mexico look…though cactus plants always remind me of visitors from outer space. Not sure what that orb is; I’ll have to look at that time of day. I suspect it’s a street lamp near the shopping mall that’s right below the mountains.
what is the glowing orb right of the cactus?
Thank you, Eric for the evocative photograph. Given the cacti foreground / rolling hill background with the big sky, i would have guessed Southwest United States rather than New York State. Is there such a thing as a sense of “placelessness”?
