  1. Not just Vesta, but also the Vedic (hindu) marriage ceremony begins with the couple building a fire – the symbolic hearth or heart of the household – then taking the seven steps (or circles) around it

    fire (Agni) is considered a purifier, hence the bride wearing red and gold to symbolize the purity
