Astrology Today: Oracle for Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Sagittarius monthly for March 23, 2010.

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

There’s a necessary element of chaos in authentic creative and sexual experiences. This is part of the lure: we want something different, and most of us secretly crave that feeling of going out of control. Yet this is a source of the phobia connected with moving creative energy: you don’t know what’s going to happen. Now, as a Sagittarian you might think, what fun! As a human, you might think, not so fast. I want to know the outcome in advance. I want to be able to Photoshop that little piece of reality, and I want the ‘delete’ button right nearby. That’s fine if you’re not going for the real thing: an actual experience of life and a true adventure rather than a trip to Epcot Center. I suggest you embrace your favorite flavor of chaos. Using art as a metaphor, it’s time to make a big mess out of your studio, work on five projects at once and paint naked till 5 am. If you’re into sports, it’s time to make that the focus of your life and ‘work’ the thing you do to support it. If you’re a musician, well, you get the idea. Remember, this is not really art you’re playing with: it’s an experiment in feeling and experiencing who you are. Every drop of astrology, now and for the foreseeable future, is about drawing you into the unfamiliar territory of your own existence. You are safe; go boldly.

Note, The Oracle is a random selection from the Eric Francis horoscope archives. Each day we publish one entry from among the 10,000 in our database. It’s a little slice of horoscope history — but chosen by our Oracle program, which always speaks to the present moment. New horoscopes are published each Friday plus twice a month in Planet Waves subscriber edition and Planet Waves Light. And for your 2012 annual reading, you’ll find Revolution. Revelation. Reality Check.

  1. funny, just last night i was reading an essay on contact improv dance that had some similar ideas, and in that sphere too was the analogy to living in vital, creative relationship to another. always seems so simple when i read about it, but living it… not always so much…

  2. Pam, I love that.
I wrote this poem after hearing this piece:

It seems fitting for the first day of Pisces.

    The Student

Many ask of me who I am and where I go,
That it may satisfy an image in which to fill.
If these questions serve them I do not know,
As I myself hear voices that overspill,
Through the wind in my hair,
    Offering only clues to embrace,
An image to extract, to glean, – to spare,
Perhaps a silent kiss upon my patient face.

Perhaps I stare naive into this dreamy land,
Expectant of some scene to manifest,
As young eyes perceive the profound and grand,
While lingering upon the harsh and silent test.

An odd and angular place in which to rest.

And I’m asked to wait, –
And I’m asked to create, –
    In a solitude,
Whose embrace is at times slightly skewed.

For now it is quiet, – and still
It is yes for many and no for me, – until
Perhaps the wind may pass its lessons wise,
To this student such that will reprise
The golden horizon, – a promise
Of her gentle voice upon my ready ear within my gentle space,
Upon my ready hands and lips and face, –
    – a kiss.

  3. ummmm, HELLO!!!!! I’m just a little freaked out here on the synchro of this Oracle today.
    Wow, and….wow…
    🙂

  4. Wow, I know what you’re getting at. Unleash your creativity! Explore! Discover! But having worked in many “creative” shops, I’ve come to split them into two camps: Those that know how to support creativity without being crazymakers, and those that don’t. For any creative person out there who might mistake “chaos” for “crazymaking,” please know that the arts or creativity do NOT have to be a venture in co-dependency. Please, please, continue to seek out the healthiest, most professional collaborators you can find, and don’t let the bullies that are all too prevalent in the industry goad you into thinking that belittling others equates w/ good “artistic” judgement. Stand up for the disciplines of defining specs on the front end, err on the side of over-communicating, and yes, always be experimenting. I find it’s easier on your partners if you experiment on the little things and scale them out rather than putting an entire project at risk. Kind of like testing a new recipe the week before your dinner party, rather than waiting until the day of and risking not having anything to serve at all. Make sense?
