Mr. Bush and Mr. bin Laden were both onto something when they declared that we choose one side or the other — this is an extremely simple spiritual principle. The question is which side is which, and what determines the difference? Consider it this way: anything that seems to be in the middle is a delusion. Anything that seems like an easy out is likely to be something else.
