The Doors of Earth

Dear Friend and Reader:

As many of you know, yesterday Mercury stationed retrograde and the day before that we had a very impressive Full Moon in Cancer. Today there are three trines shared between minor planets in the earth signs: Icarus is trine Sedna, Astraea is trine Asbolus, and the Sun is trine Logos. Doors are opening.

We covered the Cancer-Capricorn axis of incarnation in this article here, but I will sum it up for you just in case. With this Full Moon being where it is (Cancer) and the Sun being where it is (Capricorn) the energy touched upon by the zodiac is that of birth (Cancer) and rebirth (Capricorn). Now we are experiencing three aspects in the earth signs. Alice Bailey tells us that the earth signs are all about the soul reborn. Confused? Think of corn, or wheat and what it grows out of, becomes, and reseeds…

Now this effect is emphasized by the three trines taking place in the earth signs.

Icarus in Capricorn is trine Sedna in Taurus. Icarus suggests the height of experience when caution is thrown to the wind. Harmonizing with Sedna in Taurus suggests the doorway through which each of us comes to experience the robust pleasures of life on earth in all of its gamey glory. I’m talking about red meat and hot sex or, for the more reserved, dark chocolate and fast horses.

Then we have Astraea in Capricorn trine Asbolus in Taurus. We have been discussing Asbolus in the current altercation in Gaza. It has yet to end. But as Asbolus was rising in the Palestinian chart, and as Eric has noticed on multiple occasions during session the quality of Asbolus to be prominent in the charts of survivors, perhaps we should think of this particular trine as the survival of justice. After all, each of us must go through many tests to find out what our personal balance is and in an earthy sense, the body tries to maintain homeostasis in every environment. These facts, coupled with this aspect in particular, suggests our own state of evolution. In other words: this aspect is the doorway of balance in the name of survival.

The Sun in Capricorn is trine Logos in Virgo. Logos is decidedly about scientific breakthroughs and the Sun is the Will to be. This particular doorway seems to suggest the breakthrough of a new way of life, or perhaps the dawn of a new method for living.

Each of these doorways speaks to us about the values of our time on this planet. There is so much pleasure to be had and work to do and of course, a balance to be forged between these two worlds of work and play. The possibilities are as endless as the ideas that spring to mind during this energetic time.

Til Then,

Genevieve Salerno

  1. BK writes: “And his Mars is in Pisces for heaven’s sake.”

Now wouldn’t that have landed him in “hot” water?
    eennnougggghh…

  2. mystes,

I’m so relieved you are out there! Thanks for letting me know. What I forgot to say though is that this Astrea of his (0+ Cap) is not only being conjoined by transiting Astrea, but PLUTO too. duh!

Further, the 4 transiting planets (Asbolus, Vesta at 2+ Taurus)(Pluto & Astrea at 1+ & 4+ Cap) were all sextiling his natal Mars (1+ Pisces). I think this is called a “cradle” (2 sextiles together) and it is a sort of protective thing. I could be wrong.

Anyway, if that weren’t enuf, Jupiter is/was conjunct his natal Sun, as Asbolus & Vesta squared it. This poor guy was a sitting duck, er..goose. But it just seemed like a “Marsy” kind of thing, you know, quick action, rescuing the passengers and all. And his Mars is in Pisces for heaven’s sake. Well, it’s all just too much for me.

  3. Turns out that Capt. Sullenberger has a natal opposition between Asbolus (4+ Cancer) and Astrea (0+ Capricorn). This means that he was having an Astrea “return”, and she was exactly opposite his natal Asbolus at 4+ Capricorn on the day of the crash.

So “prominent in the charts of survivors” meets (and opposes) “courage as we carry on”. Wow. . . .you just can’t beat astrology!

“Sulley” also has this natal Asbolus conjunct his natal Uranus (which is opposite his natal Mercury as I said in an earlier post). As in SURPRISE!

What? Am I the only one that finds this fascinating?

  4. Just read Next World’s story on Astrea and observed that she is credited with attributes (also) utilized by the hero pilot of the plane that crashed into the Hudson River.

“As Martha Lang-Wescott suggests, Astrea sticks through the entire project even when the going GETS TOUGH (my caps). Recognizing fear and weakness is not the end of the sentence with Astrea. She brings a level of awareness that can be translated into courage as we carry on, recognizing the BUMPS (my caps) in the road, but sticking to the goal of the original order.”

Can’t wait to see this guy’s birth chart!

  5. Asbolus being prominent in the charts of survivors, do you suppose it would be obvious in charts of the people rescued from the plane that crashed in the Hudson River?

I looked to see if the Astrea, Asbolus trine was still in effect on the day the plane crashed (1/15). It’s still close, but what got my attention was the exact conjunction between Asbolus and Vesta at 2+ Taurus. Bet this aspect taps into something in the pilots chart . . like Mars maybe?

Also, it is definitely within orb of a trine to Pluto. Hope we will get to see some natal charts of those survivors, esp. the hero pilot.

As usual, your article was interesting, enjoyable and educational Genevieve. Thank you so much.
