Taurus Full Moon Time

Taurus Full Moon
Taurus Full Moon

This is an astrological chart — the basis of all the work that astrologers do. It’s not as difficult to read as you think. However, to get really good at it takes time, and then I think all astrologers wonder if anyone is really good at it. We all seem to know a little.

The Moon is currently just a few degrees from exact full phase; the aspect happens at 2:14 pm EST. Charts are local devices; there is no one chart for the Full Moon, as it will align with the Earth a little differently everywhere. This chart is set for upstate New York (in the horary tradition of casting for where the astrologer is), though it will be similar over much of the Eastern United States.

It gives Pisces rising with quite a bit in the 12th house, all of it in Aquarius.

One thing to focus on with a Full Moon chart is what is directly aligned with the Sun-Moon opposition that makes the Full Moon what it is. So first find the Sun and the Moon, which have very obvious icons — the Moon is a gray crescent and the Sun is a yellow circle with a dot in the middle (very Egyptian feeling). The Sun has planets near it — the are Mercury and Ceres. All three are in Scorpio. The Sun and Moon are both square Mars (the red ‘male’ symbol to the right side of the chart). That is some hot energy, but it’s brewing on the inside, more than being expressed on the outside.

Speaking of squares, you can see Saturn is newly in Libra; and that it’s square Pluto, still in the first degree of Capricorn. Try to find that aspect. Saturn is kind of mustardy yellow and Pluto is the red glyph that looks like a person with his or her hands up.

I’m not going to tie this chart up in a neat bow and say “what it all means.” That meaning is personal, and we’re living through it right now. Many of you have some excellent ideas and interpretations which you’re invited to leave in the comments area, and I’ll participate in the conversation today as I move from project to project.

  1. Mystes,

You are one dynamite human being. Well? What do you use YOUR hands for?

Quite an evening myself last night. Feeling blessed, thinkin’ on a dream.

  2. I am always grateful for the opportunity to read and share here, thank you all (!!) especially as I ended up focusing almost entirely on sun/ceres/mercury squaring mars in leo. I saw this as an invitation to let go of that which fuels the ego for that which sustains me deeply.

    mm.

  3. Palm chakras are opening and firing off intermittently with no conscious intent from myself. (Again first occurred when I was commenting on a distant friends blog…)

Mandy, I noticed something yesterday about increased awareness in the extremities. Esp. the hands. My consort-in-training has gone into a rather high-intensity purification cycle, and I pick up a lot of the afferent wave. Though I haven’t done kriyas (purifying yogas) in years, I am doing so now to help smooth out her process.

Yesterday I noticed that the Sat kriya (fingers locked, raise hands from bellybutton to overhead while exhaling sharply) was having a bigger effect than usual. When I stopped (hands still overhead), the gateway at the tenth door just *flew* open. And it was all in the hands.

So we may all be getting a little extra juice at the extremities. Or the definition of ‘central’ channel is changing radically!

Aaaaanyway… just thought I’d mention it.

  4. Oh, this moon is right plumb on top of my natal moon. I’m feeling very conscious of the others who have gone beyond the veil right now. Nothing has visually manifested but I know that they are there. Very conscious of people in this world right now who I know but have dropped out of contact with me… (and a serendiptious contact was made over the weekend in this vein, was reading something, thinking about it and up popped an email on the very subject from the person who’d written the article while the thought process was going through my my mind 😉 )

Palm chakras are opening and firing off intermittently with no conscious intent from myself. (Again first occurred when I was commenting on a distant friends blog…)

Feel positive for the first time in a long while that the chaos that surrounds me in rl (lovable though some of it is) will sort itself out – will need hard work and change from all of us but hopefully calm will descend …

  5. No offering of interpretation for the grand fullness of our moon-I’m still taking in the majesty of it all. Every moon cycle brings interesting physical experiences that I’m learning to understand from a different persepective just now.

Anyone else experience physical changes that seem to parallel lunations? (besides the obvious for the ladies)

I often find it very difficult to sleep as the moon waxes to full, and if I can sleep I experience visceral dreams that will awaken me. The other sometimes dreadful effect is bone chilling cold, where my hands and feet feel like energy vacuums.

I am so grateful to be inspired today by each of your contributions…I hope I will one day be able to submit something worth consideration soon. I have dipped my toes into the water at the edges of astrology for the better part of my adult life. Now my relationship with this knowledge is changing in a very exciting way, and I look forward to observing and participating here with each of you!

    Namaste!

  6. So many gifted astrological insights, thank you. Of course the house arrangement is different depending on where you are. Here in the Puget Sound area the Full Moon chart has Sagittarius rising with the ascendant squarely on the galactic center to the degree. That would place the Aquarius stellium in the second house (with Capricorn and Cancer being intercepted houses).

Of course the applying Saturn-Pluto square is the tail that wags the dog.

The Full Moon is, of course, an opposition and a predominant theme is polarity.

With the Sun, Mercury and Ceres functionally conjunct in Scorpio, it seems as though there is some sort of polarity working at the highest levels of consciousness, communication and exchange. Worms are turning, albeit underground for the moment.

This Full Moon is tracing the same path across the sky as the Sun did / does at Beltane. Another example of polarity stretching across to the other side of the year.
Don’t forget Absolus (shadow material) working nearby.

The square to Mars in Leo seems to be a challenge to ego, somehow.

  7. awordedgewise and Patty – so glad to hear other Pisces are having an awesome time with Saturn in Libra! Thanks for sharing and letting me know that other Pisceans are also doing so well under the new skiies. I wasn’t sure if it was my Pisces Sun or some other aspect in my chart giving me such a good time with the current astrology. After how hard everything was for us with Saturn in Virgo, I’m so happy to hear many Piscean are reaping the rewards for all of our hardwork! And Patty – congrats on the successful hip surgery!

  8. ashawf you couldn’t be more spot on with the two main aries people in my life. Both of the aries men have been virtually held captive by their spouses for 37 years – and both do exactly as the spouse demands! Oh they take a little freedom here and there by going off alone once in awhile, but never for long. They need to break free, and I’m thinking pluto in capricorn might actually force them into some kind of new freedom through attention from the community, especially when uranus breaks into aries next year. One is an artist, the other was just appointed to a public office. Their spouses better stop taking them for granted.

  9. Genevieve, yes for me. I’ve felt really happy since saturn left virgo, and everything in my daily life has improved in every way. Had a successful trip to the orthopaedic surgeon too – my hip actually looks better than it did last year!

  10. Genevieve –

A “second” to every point you’ve made. (Pisces sun, Aries Moon, Leo Rising)

Good stuff indeed, nice to not feeling like swimming upstream and that perhaps soon we’ll be with the currants.

  11. Hey Everyone,

Great stuff! Here’s my stab. I’m a Piscean with an Aquarius moon – so I’d be really interested to know if any Pisceans are experiencing similar things.

What describes my life lately is grounded, focused, happy, full of people, no longer wearing my pain like a badge, feeling strong and in my power, no feeling of being wounded, expecting wonderful things, life feels like it has slowed down to a manageable pace (instead of running at the hectic pace that it felt like for the last few years….or may my life hasn’t slowed down, maybe the world has sped up to match me). Every facet of my life is going better than it has in a long time. What I listed above has developed in the past few weeks and is peaking up steam and just taking off in awesome ways. Maybe it’s that Saturn in Libra now in the 8th house (for us Pisces) bringing balance and stability and no longer in opposition to our Suns. Or maybe it’s having Juno in Pisces bringing a feeling of strength and strong female power. Just some ideas, would love to know how other Pisces are experiencing the astrology right now.

  12. Ok, Let me try this for Aries…
Lately Pluto in your career house has questioned if not shaken your confidence when it comes to relating with others. You have come to an understanding that the confidence is born out of self worth and self worth is cultivated deep within yourself and does not come from accumulation of external power. Universe is now urging you to take that understanding, let your heart absorb it, take the risk and face up to the authority inside you and muster up the courage and integrity and honesty to right the wrongs.

  13. Don’t Dream It’s Over

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There’s a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you’ll never see the end of the road
    While you’re traveling with me

    Hey now, hey now
    Don’t dream it’s over
    Hey now, hey now
    When the world comes in
    They come, they come
To build a wall between us
    We know they won’t win

Now I’m towing my car, there’s a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there’s no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page

    Hey now, hey now
    Don’t dream it’s over
    Hey now, hey now
    When the world comes in
    They come, they come
To build a wall between us
    We know they won’t win

Now I’m walking again to the beat of a drum
And I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only the shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

    Hey now, hey now
    Don’t dream it’s over
    Hey now, hey now
    When the world comes in
    They come, they come
To build a wall between us
    Don’t ever let them win

  14. We have been under attack via bio-warfare for some time now. We are only becoming aware. I do not personally think it is some universal “plan” but rather many smaller agendas going “haywire” – or hayware for those of us under attack, anyway.

Patty for sure look for alternative information re: flu and all dis-ease going around. Dr. Mercola is great as is Dr. Ben Kim…there are many great on-line sources of alternative information.

Remember to look to the source – what is it that is actually killing the human organism or making it sick? Keep in mind that the H1N1 is overburdening immune systems so that people die from oh – common staph infection.

(Just as HIV does’nt kill – HIV lowers immunity so other dis-ease can kill.)

Keep in mind that many have died from flu or other modern dis-ease because their bodies were put into overdrive fighting a “ghost” – that is, the viris was already operating at Body Level II but common medications such as Tamiflu cause the body to respond at Body Level I – thusly turning the body on itself.

I have been relying on sea salt and lemon to counteract a lot of junk. Simple and cheap yummy too)

I also figure that healthy water is and will be our biggest source of concern going forward – whether living in naturally wet places or dry ones where water is imported. Just look at the Fiji water situation; locals dying from dirty water sources while we feed the beast by purchasing pretty bottles of “pure” water.

Sometimes while I watch, I seem to see people aging. This is both physical as Patty mentions and metaphysical as though watching a rose bloom in stop-motion.

  15. Hey Fe, That sounds like a good prognosis for a hip repair too!

My last hip replacement was on a mars conjuction to my chiron and everything that could go wrong went wrong. So i will walk into the office unafraid – heh-heh.

  16. This is not altogether neat, though I wish it could be.

The Bay Bridge has just re-opened, and Saturn is in the first degree Libra (0 deg 22min) in the chart for today. The Sabian Symbol for Libra 1 is:

A BUTTERFLY PRESERVED AND MADE PERFECT WITH A DART THROUGH IT.

Ironically, it was the winds that broke the joints to the massive i-bars holding up a suspension cable early last week, causing it to snap off and damage two cars.

When you look at the bridge from across, it looks alot like Libran scales. I hope with Pluto in Cap, Saturn in Libra and the Full Moon in the sign of the bull, this repair lasts a good long LONG time.

  17. Awordedgewise – aging – yes I noticed. I know two people who have died from complications of h1n1. Everyone is worried sick about practically everything. My husband drove himself to the hospital last week because he couldn’t get his breath. He’s asthmatic and 65 years old. What if he gets a virus? I’ve read that the flu vaccines have a lot of mercury in them, along with other nanotechnology that can cause severe problems in the brain. God only knows what we’ve done to ourselves.

  18. Asha,

I enjoyed reading what your wrote for crabs….I’ve recently tried to “tune in” to “home” and where/how it fits into my chart (I do not have any prominant cancer but then there are the houses etc to explore. My brother is cancer and he has been a lifetime of thorn in my side with all the “family obligation” stuff.) What struck me in your writing was the comment about “shifting sand”.

It feels to me that this a great picture for all of us right now. And that moving our “home” as the sand shifts (as a crab would, perhaps) will be more prudent than remaing rigid with that-which-we-call-“home” — methinks that all of our “homes” are built on (shifting) sand at this time.

  19. “Letting go” has been my primary agenda for years now; habits, stuff, relationships,

How hard it is for us to “let go”! Holding on and/or accumulating is really so easy, yet we don’t think so and suffer through our lives trying trying to hold on to people, places, behaviours and things.

The homeless can be such a simple example of this — hauling bags, pushing shopping carts, even dumpsters when the cart gets too small.

It’s like the world in whirring around us faster and faster trying to force us to let go and let be.

Something in the fluidity of the element mercury…. how It lets go of itself but always rejoins as One.

Has anyone else noticed how everyone around seems to be aging more quickly too? It’s in the faces…

Patty: Love and Light to you as you explore your hip options.

  20. Eric,
Since I am a Cancerian, I will try to interpret this full moon for Cancerians.
    Here goes…
Crab, for a long while you have been immersed in the deep oceans of feelings and emotions. While others may equate your emotionalism with weakness, they don’t know how wrong there are! You emotionalism gives you the phenomenal strength, for you and only you can afford to process each and every feeling, and every now and then you emerge from that deep ocean to the shore on to the ground and demand the others in the exchange to honor their agreements with you , accept and recognize you for what you are worth. That time is now. One caution though, between the shore and the solid ground there is shifting sand and beware of it and tread carefully for next few weeks.

  21. I hope it’s good for orthopaedic visits since I’m seeing about a hip replacement today just after the moon is full. I’m Pisces with progressed sun at 24+ Taurus, and Sag rising.

I’ve been wondering for awhile if we should read for the progressed sign too, for clues to major decisions. Should we?
