Good morning dear reader,
Thursdays into Friday morning are almost always a long, late night full of literary intensity. I have succeeded, with some help, in turning yesterday’s blog on Eris and Lilith into a Friday edition of Planet Waves. It was a full-on editing orgy — we must have made 100 edits to the original and it’s now a smooth, useful piece of professional writing, if I do say so. It went out about two hours ago to subscribers.
I will mention one aspect today: Psyche square Neptune.
Any time you hear the words “square Neptune,” ask yourself, “is this true?” Any aspect to Neptune can compromise the truth. It can also give us incentive to go on a hunt for the truth.
Psyche is the sense of being psychologically wounded. It is like Chiron, only the injury can be imaginary. It is also more likely to be a psychic wound — an injury to faith, to the imagination, to curiosity. This aspect reminds me to remind you: are you really so wounded or injured? Or is your sense of injury the thing you’re grappling with?
I think that the answer to that question would determine your course of action. A lot of people are walking around the planet thinking they’re hurt in ways they’re not. Not to deny actual injuries or ills, but it’s become extremely fashionable to dwell on them and not on the vital force and the creative spirit that is the rest, or the most, of what makes us human.
Rock out —

Remember that most of the world considers creativity an evil scourge. The extent to which humans and their cultures will go to force one another into that horrific condition known as blending into society is too grim to describe here, and I don’t have 3,000 pages. Creativity is a big problem because it compels us to be different, to stay up late, to ask questions, and most of all to feel. Now is your time to have a face-to-face meeting with this demon, or perhaps an impassioned waltz. There is something of the old you available, however old you’d like to go, depending on your take on past lives, that is available right now and will be increasingly so as the next stream of days pours out of time. This old you is the one that remembers; the one who knows.
e,
when I read your words “Psyche is the sense of being psychologically wounded” I had to wonder about your ideas on this archetype. You of all people would know that Psyche has no wound (and I say you of all people because, as Hillman writes, ‘Eros always leads to Psyche’) – she suffers, sure – she descends, yes – but woundedness doesn’t appear to be part of her mythology.
Maybe I’m wrong, I’m willing to be – can you explain where your ideas come from? Perhaps the Neptune square has done a better job than we think 🙂
in love, d
