Yes, the current fascination with cooking in our Western culture is quite revealing, I think. Most of us have no contact whatsoever with the origins of the food that sustains us, so in order to compensate for that and relate to our food on some kind of spiritual level, we make the act of cooking into a religious ritual. But, I became a cooking show atheist a few years ago, and I think this cartoon pretty much captures why.
