Passover, Full Moon, the Creation of the Universe

I am still trying to figure out what cycle is involved in the special once-per-28-year prayer being said today as part of the Passover or Pesach holiday, which begins tonight at sundown.

Twenty-eight years is one Saturn cycle and it’s one cycle of the progressed Moon. Jews, who use a lunar calendar, are celebrating this as the return of the Sun to its position that the universe was created 5,769 years ago. Of course, since the universe was created slightly longer ago than that, the position of the Sun on the day that it wasn’t created may have only limited value, unless of course this prayer is personally meaningful to you.

But I’m still curious what is involved; I’ve telegraphed the guy who usually knows this stuff, Phil Sedgwick. I’ll let you know if I hear from him.

As you can see in the chart below, the Moon is full tomorrow morning in the United States, afternoon in Europe and the UK and overnight Thursday to Friday in Oz. this is a busy little Full Moon. The stand-out aspect is Sun conjunct Eris / Moon opposite Eris. Eris is the farthest known planet (properly, a dwarf planet but I don’t usually use that term). If you ask me, Eris is the patron saint of our era; the discord and chaos implied in the mythography involve the chaos of identity that we live in, and in general the kaleidascopic quality that our lives have at the moment.

We live in a time when there is no center. In eras past, it was the family, the church, the government, the nation, the special relationship. Today we fake making these things the center, and we live in a universe that is an enormous swirl of overlapping realities.

Part of this story is told in the triple conjunction forming between Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, which will be exact at the end of May but which is a significant influence even today. The two slow movers in this equation — Chiron and Neptune — have gradually been working toward a conjunction for about five y years. That aspect currently happens about once every 60 years, and it is one of the gems that is defining this era of our lives, and of history.

As part of this Full Moon, we have Venus in Aries doing something fancy, which is backing over the Aries Point into the last degree of Pisces. There are several other sign-changes in the neighborhood. Mercury is about to arrive in Taurus. Vesta, the celibate sacred whore, is about to arrive in Gemini. These are inner planets; they are closely involved with very immediate environmental factors, like how the world feels, how our personalities fit into existence and so on. These movements are rearranging the psychic landscape.

The most impressive of the lot is Venus, backing into Pisces, where she will stay for 10 days – occupying one degree of the zodiac – as she stations direct on April 17. I think this is the astrology whose influence we will remember as we live through and then look back on these days.

  2. BK, yeah it was a moment. Thanks for the verification on the stell-art; I’ve already noted the last week of April promises to bring a series of breakthroughs. I’m loosening up…

    Patty, too late. I woke up this morning feeling dead. The usual moon-in-Scorpio effect for me. Flat as a flounder, and with an emptiness I haven’t felt in a long long time. At first it weirded me out, then I got interested in it, sort of ran alongside for the next couple of hours.

    Remembered a couple of things. Such as :: a vision I had in 94 about this marriage, and certain inside facts. Each of which has manifested, precisely and on time. Saw the whole thing fold down from a white, white ocean into a snowflake, then disappear.

    I am wholly different woman than the Ma-Kali who had to manifest to deal with that part of my life. As I walked a new path home through my neighborhood today, a little girl ran outside and asked me if I wanted to swing on her rope swing. Bowing to her, I climbed up and as I made the first swoop, I saw a fairy ring hidden in the shadows behind the tree. After a few minutes we consulted on what it needed (she’s only seen one fairy). I will be bringing her an offering in a day or so.

    Q will find me when he needs me. Everything else is complete.

  4. mystes . . . .”out of the mouths of babes. . .” and “from your lips to God’s ears . . . .must have originated with people having these kinds of experiences. Patty’s focusing on the Libra FM and Aries NM symbols was an OMG moment for me. Just makes you want to cry sometimes when the symbolism (and the synchronisity) is so in-your-face right and perfect!

    Hope the paychecks are found and that the electricity can be saved. Think about this; after Venus goes direct, she will join Eris (and Vesta sextiles them) in the land of “me” about the same time as the great Neptune Jupiter (and Chiron) hookup in late May. Oh, and Mars just ahead of Eris & Venus will be sextiling the great Jupiter & friends! With the Sun in Gemini too (two?)….now something good has to come out of that.

    Surely those of us who have been dragged through the mud for the last (over) 30 days will have an opportunity (or many) to score one for the goddesses. A piece of cake. Travel, writing, buying a car, taking a course, creating a web-site, speaking engagement, making a CD or DVD, getting together with your neighbors, something like this will provide the setting for Mars to engage the major-domos, and Vesta will provide us the perservance and fortitude to bring in on home to mama.

    * the coordinator for the project walked in and announced that our paychecks have been lost. We’ve been there three weeks without pay. And my electricity is scheduled to be shut off on Monday. Yippee.

    Yeah, baby… I’m all for-giving him about 7000 miles of real estate. Between us. I spent yesterday grieving the 14-year hole that just opened up. Next two weeks will see me fashioning a hang-glider to sail across to the other side of it. I’m learning the fine art of ‘redivorce.’ Apparently I dinna get it right the first time.

    Kristen’s Jobcorps: Gone? Not necessarily. I called the Census, and they told me New Mexico was still hiring and training. I was asking as I began to cast around for the door to this hell. (It’s overhead and underfoot, all at once).

  7. Mysti – I have a slight ache in my arm as it stretches across the water to reach around your shoulders, but its worth it if it gives you comfort in any way. Love to you. H.

    It’s been a fucker of a week or so. Travelling for business, which has been both brilliant and exhausting. I felt ‘rattled’ and almost every emotion under the sun heightened in a peculiar amplified way. Got jaw sprain (like a sprained ankle) which was agony and I never knew you could have it. Had emotional guts for a few days off and on and was thining what is going on with me?????!!!

    Realised I am carrying quite a bit of sadness (amongst other things) as I miss the energy, stimulation and love of peers and colleagues now that I am working by myself. Realised I have been ‘soldiering on alone’ and doing my usual being brave and getting on with it while I am missing a fundamental emotional need of mine. Realised all this at a course I attended as part of my counselling development, which was so good I didn’t want to leave at the end. Now decisions lie ahead as to whether to pursue this development work further, a life changing decision which would mean moving from the (current) spiritual home. Ha! It isn’t a decision to be made, it is made already and I am going to pursue it. This is the blood in my veins flowing…

Wanted to give all who are interested a Heads Up re: retrograde Venus station direct at 29.12 degrees Pisces on 4/17 is only arc minutes away from where Uranus will be in his opposition to Saturn on 4/26/10 at 28.46 Pisces. The clues just keep on coming…..

  10. The universe is unforgiving to those who are unforgiving. Most people quit bosses, not jobs. My bet is the pregnant lady will find a new doc too, if he and staff are that disrespectful.

    You know my saga?! Well, yesterday, the new person informed me (me as manager now after 7 short wavy weeks) that she was on meds and could not do the job, after 2 days. Ho. I was catching a clue as she was SO nervous once the job began, but she hid her agenda well and now I am doing a 2 person job STILL as 1 flawed person who is starting to resent the situation as I am not even getting time to go to meditation which was the point of taking this particular job in the final moments.

    After choosing this job, I ended up getting calls from Tassajara, Omega Institute and the Census, all offering me jobs. Those jobs of course are gone now… probably.

    Now, I get to go back to square one and start interviewing folks again. In the meantime, I had a mom be verbally abusive to me (who has also been in the past few weeks) due to wait time for her daughter to be seen by the doctor, as if, I had any control over how the doctor works.

    My chart is alight, but besides that the times are wild as people finally uncover their real motivations, aka VALUES.

    Hang in there! We can always do an astro gathering in SF later in spring/summer…

  12. This full moon north node is connected to the January 20 eclipse. What I think is that we are breaking out in peace and light, glimpsing the perfection of the invisible world, yet seeking to chase emotionally after all that is ugly and negative with our fears about money, food, clean air, war, immigration, and so on.

    The archons are working hard to keep everyone in darkness, sidetracking us with emotional calamities and worries. All of us are experiencing illness and ailments. Yesterday I didn’t think I would stop vomiting.

    There is a shaking in the universe. The physical world is breaking down, as it should. This is a ‘just say no’ to fear moment. Remain joyful and hopeful.

    There’s definitely something Up and On with this moon. I have been getting sick in my workplace (a 6-week temp position), found out there’s been an insecticide routinely applied by the window where I sit. Yesterday I considered what this means for the next 4 weeks. Then today the room manager comes by and closes the blinds by my desk, forbidding me to open them. The only reason to sit in that spot is because I am light sensitive (I get blinding headaches under florescent lights), and I flip out, stating loudly enough for everyone in a 1000 square foot room to hear that my corner is now available for any troglodytes or vampires who might need to work in corpselight. They quickly shuttle me over to another bright, windowlit part of the room – and I apologize for my fit.

    I come home to find out that my ex-husband has taken Q as a dependent on his taxes without asking or consulting with me. This destroys my tax return. The X has ‘stepped up’ as they say, during a particularly gruesome year for me, and I have been grateful. But his agenda was revealed today. I have voluntarily shared the kiddo as a write-off every other year since he was born – even though I legally have had the right to claim him as a dependent each and every year.

    But today there’s no discussion, no mention, no thanks. Just ‘screw you, and see ya in court.’ Stupid me – how does that go again? ‘No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.’ Not my slogan, but its certainly his.

    I am so finished with this part of my life.

  14. Did you see the sabian symbol? Libra 20 In a tiny room ridiculously cluttered with manuscripts and books sits a Jewish rabbi at ease with self and world.

    The new moon in March was in Aries 7: A Man Successfully Expressing Himself in Two Worlds at Once.

    The president and his family are attending a Seder at the White House tomorrow evening.

    I’m starting to get excited. There is more here than meets the eye.

    Someone in the little group that gathered with our rabbi to make the blessing this morning noted the similarity to the Saturn return cycle, and suggested that this would be an auspicious time to be intentional about what template we’re creating and following for our lives.
