How to protest the Quebecois way

Casseroles – Montréal, 24 Mai 2012 from Jeremie Battaglia on Vimeo.

A peek at the protests in Montreal against the rise of tuition fees in Quebec. Every evening at 8:00 pm people meet in the street with their pots and pans and make all the noise they can. (Blessedly, this video features music by the band Avec pas d’casque, rather than the clanging and banging.)

  1. fyi-this is a take on the new year’s tradition of the poor to herald the new calendar year in by beating pots and pans, in south america they do it for coordinated political protests during national strikes, funny how things evolve
