  1. I loved George Carlin’s kind of sharp wit. I miss him for that. So perfect and clear thinking. I learned a lot of my own clear thinking from hearing his.

  2. I’ve got some JC on my iPhone and the tracks on random play. More than once his schtick has come on and caused me to snort loudly and then dissolve into helpless fits of giggles – to the disapproving looks of fellow tube passengers. So brilliant and sadly missed…

  3. Tuned in to watch the last two minutes of the game tonight, knowing that was all I could stomach these days, and GC’s words rang in my ears. Fabulous to hear this again, describing it to a tee. He was a superb and the last 30-40 seconds of this clip are sheer genius.

Yeah, you’re right Brendan, he’s a big loss without a doubt.

  4. who was the giant/Met (not Yankee, sorry world) — nice guy — oh yeah Willy Mays — who told the opposing team’s catcher after he stuck out his leg to block him from getting to the plate — do that again and I’ll break your leg.

  5. Here’s to GC, we all miss him so. He would be having so much fun with the election this year.

He’s seeing baseball as a form of friendly people who want to have fun, while football is an extension of trench warfare (without the trenches). I think he’s got “Field of Dreams” on his mind as the ideal form of baseball, one where you contemplate the moves, the hits, the plays.

Of course as you said, Eric, he’s not showing the New York model of baseball. That is a contact sport and I’m not talking about the players. 🙂

  6. But he may have never sat in the bleachers at a Yankee game. Or rather the bleachers of Yankee Stadium during a Yankee Bosox game. It would be a crime scene in progress. Manson would be intimidated.
