Note to Readers: This the introduction to today’s edition of Planet Waves Astrology News, which looks at the chart for Pres. Obama signing the health insurance reform act on Tuesday — and how that impacts us personally. The full edition is being emailed to subscribers now.
Dear Planet Waves Reader:
Tuesday’s chart for Pres. Obama signing the health insurance reform package settles at least one issue: what happened this week is in fact historically significant. After a century of failed proposals, speculation and hope, the U.S. has taken its first step toward all of its citizens having some form of health coverage. Many people have many issues with this law, but the page of history has turned.

The at times stunning, at times embarrassing, at times agonizing partisan drama we’ve been witnessing for the past year, which continues this week (and indeed into the future), reveals the extreme polarization that has always characterized civil rights progress in the United States. Or more accurately, we’re getting another look at a vocal, angry, regressive minority whose position was best summed up a few days ago by Sarah Palin: “Don’t retreat, reload.”
My sense is that at the moment, the country is divided into four camps. The first is the one saying this legislation is the rise of fascism because it expands the government and takes away individual rights (though I cannot figure out which). This view is held by a split-off from what is politely called the Republican base, now known as the Teabagger movement. These are the conservative hippies who use terms like baby killer and faggot when speaking to an activist nun or distinguished gay congressman. This week, some of the more passionate members of this movement have taken to throwing bricks through the windows of Democratic congressional representatives; there have been at least five such incidents so far, including one with death threats against the children of a congressional representative from New York. These appear to be part of a coordinated message that includes a lot of rhetoric about firearms and the crosshairs as a visual symbol. These are not people whose motto is “the pen is mightier than the sword” or even “a stitch in time saves nine.” Many actually have guns, and they want us to know it.

![]() Weekly Horoscope for Friday, March 26, 2010, #809 – BY ERIC FRANCIS . |

In the film Waking Life, the lead character finds himself in a lucid dream, from which he keeps waking up, into another dream. Each awakening arrives with a transformation, and with a new level of awareness, but he still cannot seem to actually come to full consciousness. Along the way he encounters many interesting people and continuously seeks out new knowledge, but a mystery persists, which is the mystery of what it means to be awake. There are some psychological theories consistent with his experience, defining consciousness itself as a trance. In these days of your life, I would propose that the measure of how awake you are is indicated by what you create. True enough, not everyone is the ‘creative type’ and we’re generally motivated to consume energy rather than to offer ourselves to the world in a sincere and daring way: which underscores my point. | |

Astrological assessment is subjective. ALL of our realities are subjective.. (I know, hella superfluous but,..). Aside from the myriad of prognosticators shoving their equalizations (I see “potential future realities” as an equalizer bar on a stereo system,.. ,cause I do), (and balsy-boldsy, I’ll say, a good chunk don’t have the capacity of their salt.), up our yang’s.. I’ve learned over many years of fucking up,.. I’m better than “this”. “The bullshit that ANY individual can come up with is Nothing compared to the bullshit I can feed myself.” “I am a master of SELF destruction. I don’t need anyone else to fuck me up.. I’m good, I’ve got it taken care of.”
So.. AuContraire, who’s fuckin’ you?
You???
(These cats may talk some shit, they’re not sure how to deal with your energy. Don’t take it harsh.)
(I’m goin’ hard sidelines but.. yeah, sometimes I think Eric’s got his fishy eyes a little too bulged on the chick thing,.. considering “he’s a dude”. I’m sag., and equanimity is my bag. I recognize balance, those are the only tricks I do.)
Eric’s chosen his “field”. Groovy.
I’ve mine,.. You’ve yours..
So,.. Health Care.. well…
WHERE’S THE FUNK IN TAKING CARE OF ALL PEOPLE?
ALLRIGHT!!, This is it..
..FOOD, SHELTER, HEALTH, EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION (entertainment/rest).. This is the subsidization gov. “SHOULD” be built around. (Anyone?.. Negate…, please..)
..as far as my b.s. goes today..
Love you ALLLLLLL!
(Yup),

Airports! With the current BA strikes, you’ve a captive audience. Oh, I feel a mass marriage comin’ on…gotta go. Love, love.
The airport thing is fine as long as I don’t have to jump up and down alot. Knees are bad.
Okay new marketing initiative — we will be selling subscriptions at airports.
Eric..sorry, I mean, Master (note to self – must get that right), ah and not forgetting fellow cultees, er, the saffron is a killer for me too – all this Scottish peely wally white skin, it’s a definite fashion crime. I’ll be arrested instantly. How’s about a nice warm, red for the cult colours…?
Yours in humble obeyance (aye right!), H.
Really Fe, I thought the Saffron worked quite well for my complexion. : ))
You know, eric, I always suspected but never really figured it out until you sent all your subscribers the saffron robe and the Gillette razor to shave our heads with. Since this is an online community, I’ve decided, since Planet Waves does give you an option, to shave my head virtually.
However, the saffron- wrong color for my complexion.
Well, about that cult…sorry I haven’t said anything. C’mon you guys had no idea?
AuContraire, I wonder if you might elaborate a little further?
Au Contraire – A cult! Really!! Oh my. I had no idea. It’s my first one you see. I so don’t know my own mind…
The ONLY realistic astrological assessment of the passage of this legislation I have been able to find online is Jessica Murray’s here:

I’ve followed Eric Francis and Planet Waves since it’s inception, but never became a member of the cult. I have to say Eric, I think you are dead wrong in your analysis of this.
Hello Eric,
Great analysis and straight to the issue of the equality for all in a country of white haves and darker have-nots… but, I have to tell you, you made me laugh at the last sentence “…. it’s just another day at school.” I became a high school nurse just this year, after over 35 years of ICU and ER nursing… and Tuesday was not like any other day! The cardinal grand cross fired up conflict among the students, and there were at least 3 fights throughout the school day. It wasn’t just Westside versus Southside, it wasn’t West versus the Jocks, which we’ve had before – it was much more, and pervasive. We actually haven’t had any physical violence at school since December.
There was a morning fight of boys on the baseball field, but I didn’t have patients from that, they ran into a field and were gone before security could get them. The 10-girl fight at lunch resulted in bloody and vicious injuries I had to care for – my trauma backround was invaluable. While still assessing and treating the less injured girls, I was called to the office for a boy who was hyperventilating; then a security officer came up to me and said “We need you out front, a bus that is full of students just backed into a car with passengers”. That was the icing on my ‘day from hell’ cake. I didn’t have patients from the fight in the parking lot at the end of day – the injured drove off campus.
I can treat the physical injuries; the hardest part is finding a way to reach the kids about learning another way to resolve conflict, especially when two parents who came to pick girls up started to go at it in the office. But I know I am in their lives for a reason and will continue my mission of love and straight talk. At the end of the day I was telling the principal that I wasn’t surprised at the way the day went because of the cardinal grand cross; she has asked me to give her a warning next time. 🙂
Peace and love,
Kat
I am 56 years old, and was born and lived in the Deep South US until 2005. I’ve been observing what’s going on now – the virulence of the backlash and the vicious, aggrieved irrationality – and I’m thinking, “this all feels very familiar.”
It reminds me very much of the public outrage that took place in the South in the 1950s and 60s, when the federal government began the process of integration of schools, and the subsequent civil rights movement – the police in Selma turning the dogs loose on the protesters, for example, and people bombing churches and screaming at six-year-old black girls entering school. I remember listening to the adults around me carrying on fit to kill about how the government was destroying their sacred way of life. It was an out-of-control “mob” consciousness, which made it that much more disturbing.
I recall vividly what that time felt like, and I now feel as if I’ve stepped back in time 40-odd years. Here it is again.
After the incident in Little Rock in 1957, Charles Mingus immortalised Governor Faubus with his 1960 seminal work Fables of Faubus!! It’s a very funny prankster pastiche of Faubus’ policy. As with most of Mingus work, it is light years ahead of its time; as if he knew that beyond a shadow of a doubt……. in time….all things will pass!!
Enjoy

Fe, I have not been passionate about this issue — I know enough to know when I don’t know a subject well, and this seemed a little out of reach. What got my attention was the sociology of the event.
One thing I’m aware of is that we have been made so cynical by the years of Bush-Cheney-Rove beginning in 1998 that most of us think that Washington DC is not capable of anything besides murder, torture and stealing from our kids. We need to be aware of that sentiment, which has been given to us deliberately. While the US government may not take the lead on getting humanity to a better place, it would make an excellent slave, and we must find a way to participate that subverts the political paradigm in favor of something else; such as our minds focused on the public service nature of what a government — one focus of community — is supposed to be. And it can.
We’re taking steps in the right direction. Let’s hold the light around Barack.
Thank you eric,
Today I purchased the Aries audio and just finished listening to it. I am glad I did that.
As Aries rising I connected with every word you said in the audio. I am feeling a sense of thrill and adventure and tiny bit of enxiety for the upcoming events. Thank you. Asha
Thank you, eric.
This is one of the best weeklies you’ve written. Its giving me and I think so many others inspiration and hope that there is a vision and a purpose to this time.
I am proud to be a member of the Planet Waves community.
