Monday: Sun in Scorpio aspects Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus

Today the Scorpio Sun is in a position where it is trine Uranus, and sextile both Saturn and Jupiter. This highly unusual setup (involving the Sun and the three largest planets in an aspect structure) focuses enormous energy on the Sun, combining will power, intention, structure, expansion and innovation in a stable, productive combination. This is the ideal setup for constructive activity, building the present and facilitating the future. The Saturn-Uranus opposition may be causing a struggle with the ideas of the past, but it’s certainly an opportunity to let them go (as we are seeing on the national stage at this moment).

Venus conjoins the Galactic Center in Sagittarius, calling forth what seems to be a feminine cosmic energy — the core of our galaxy — and focusing it through Venus, the planet of values, attraction and deep feelings. The GC has the feeling of the unattainable just within reach, though it’s necessary to make contact, write down the idea, or make the commitment to yourself at the moment when you’re feeling it.

Pallas Athene, an asteroid, is square Saturn, a reminder to negotiate with a gentle hand, and with flexibility; but to maintain the integrity of both your original plans and the compromises you feel you must make. This can also represent an obstacle in a negotiation process, though it’s one that will strengthen the overall outcome of the situation.

Boundaries and obligations are stretching today, and therefore getting thin enough to see through. Compassion and attraction run high as you begin to discover just how badly the people around you want to be free from the obligations and instructions imprinted upon them and act on a higher level of will than the one strictly dictated by the past.

  1. Speaking of strictly dictated pasts and facilitating the future, its time for thinking about the holidays and gift giving. I read one idea that is to purchase re-usable shopping bags to use for holiday gift bags. The ones I purchased are bright green. You can sew or embroider a decorative holiday or other patch over the store name and the bags are usually about .99 cents each depending where you find them. My family is big on living without plastic to the extent possible. The reusable bags may be made of man-made materials, but using them can save a lot of plastic and paper usage over a short period.
