Today is Monday, Sept. 12, 2011. Overnight Sunday to Monday is the last Full Moon of summer — the Pisces Full Moon. While the Full Moon can be a restless time, Pisces energy is subtle. It’s the perfect lunar energy to have for the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 incident, as it encourages both feeling and reflection.
The Moon and Sun form their exact opposition at 5:27 am EDT Monday. The Moon will remain in Pisces until early Tuesday morning, when it ingresses Aries. So that soft watery energy of the Full Moon will linger an extra day and into the night. The combination of Pisces and the Moon can feel like an astrological opiate, and you may feel like you want to do less Monday rather than more. Get yourself to a slow and gentle start and you’ll start to pick up momentum as the day progresses.
I would note that as the Sun is passing by the solar return of the Sept. 11 incident chart, this can stir up a sense of injury, trauma or the sad memories you have from this moment 10 years ago. That’s something to factor into your plans for Monday; you may need a little extra gentle self-guidance and prompting.
As we experience this, on a different frequency Mercury forms a trine to Pluto, offering a moment of deep thinking and perhaps closure on a challenging issue that you’ve been working out in your mind for the past couple of months. Mercury is now in the first days of its non-shadow phase (it was retrograde or working out the tail end of that effect through all of August and into September.
Saturday it made a direct opposition to Chiron; overnight it makes an exact trine to Pluto. This is allowing deep personal material to come to the surface; Mercury has a way of putting things in terms of conscious thought rather than underground feelings. The combination is an invitation to be psychologically clear about something you’ve been challenged by emotionally. There is a process involved, which may feel like it’s working in layers. The chart describes reconciling what is real at one level of experience with what is real at another: such as becoming clear about a contradiction, paradox or confrontation, and having the strength to make a coherent decision.
