The Sun enters Libra shortly after 5:00 am EDT on Friday morning. That will be an equinox. North of the equator, it will be the first day of autumn; in the southern hemisphere, the advent of spring. This will come about a week after Venus led the way into Libra, a sign it rules. To have the Sun enter a cardinal sign which is, at the same time, hosting its ruling planet, does not happen every day. The moment is being symbolically emphasized. For you, this event symbolizes an emphatic opportunity to consciously shift out of your senses and into your mind.
Light is fundamental. Sun is the source. The existence and circumstances of life on Earth are largely a result of our planet’s relationship to the Sun. A big part of that relationship is the amount of light received, and that, in turn, is largely dependent on the length of the day. With two exceptions, the duration of daylight is dictated by where you are situated on the surface of the Earth at any given time. The two exceptions are the equinoxes.
There are two equinoxes in every year. What they have in common is that the Sun appears to be directly over the Earth’s equator. When that happens, the length of day is equal for all, no matter where you are on the surface of our planet. Equal, equator, equinox. How the two equinoxes differ is with the direction the Sun appears to be moving in the days after equality of light. That apparent motion can be ascribed to our perspective.
Of course, it is we who are moving relative to the Sun. It seems to be the other way around because our senses are attuned to perceiving our bodies are on a fixed point of reference, the Earth’s surface, and moving separately relative to other objects. Most of the time, that serves us well, but not if we want to understand what we see when we look up at the sky. For that, we need to make a conscious shift away from what our senses tell us and into what our minds know. We need to see our planet and everything on it as one object. If we can do that, the Earth’s motion is our own in common and there is no separation at all.
For the most part, the Earth’s motion has three components: orbit, spin and wobble. The wobble is subtle and apparent only after many years. It is the orbit and spin that matter most in a typical human life. Our planet, spinning on its axis, yields the cycle of day and night — what our senses perceive as the Sun going up and down. The angle of that axis in relation to our planet’s orbit around the Sun induces another, longer cycle in the relative length of day and night, the cycle of the seasons.
The axis of our spin is tilted. The tilt does not go back and forth. Rather, we go round and round. One part of the annual circuit brings your hemisphere toward the light. You sense that as the Sun is longer in the sky from one day to the next and it gets warmer. In another part of our orbit, the process seems to be going the other way and it’s difficult to understand how your motion and existence could not be separate from another person on the other half of the globe. An equinox brings the Earth, the Sun and our sense of them all into line and validates what your mind can always know, no matter the time of year.
On Friday, your senses will tell you that the length of day and night are equal. It will mean that our planet has reached one of two points in its orbit when the axis is inclined neither towards nor away from the Sun, a point where every human being is perceiving that equal light, equally together, all at the same time. In the weeks to follow, the rising and setting Sun will appear to move South on the horizon and our mutual existence will appear to diverge again. If you take this opportunity to shift your consciousness beyond what your senses tell you, however, your mind will forever know different.
Your mind will know that the only thing that truly changes is Earth’s place in orbit. You will be conscious of the fact that we all invariably share the same place in orbit at all times. That simple truth will, in turn, set you free. You will be free of being separate and alone and you will know that all of us and our planet are one thing in the light of the Sun.

aword: Thank you for your kind words. Peaceful is what i was aiming for.
be: Thank you for your humor and gentle erudition. Thank you also for mentioning the satellite. Been doing some research. It was manufactured by our old friends, General Electric. So far as i have been able to ascertain, there is no radioactive payload, its instruments are supposedly solar powered and it is reportedly out of the chemical propellant necessary to either “park” it in a high orbit or guide a controlled re-entry. Curious then that the United States government is more concerned about anyone touching or taking a piece of this “property” than about the safety of its citizens. It would be so much more simple if they would just stop lying.
One thing (besides possible lies) that has marked this satellite’s history is unexpected consequences from bad planning. Hopefully, nobody will have to pay for that with their life.
Dear Len,
I’m so glad you understand how we get the light we get and can explain to us why equinoxes are unique. I fear that if I were to look up and observe the equality of light and dark while by-passing my senses that I would fall down from dizzyness. Are you sure I wouldn’t get light-headed from changing gears like that? Well, maybe if I were to just shut my eyes and visualize it in my head, while lying down of course, I wouldn’t spin off the planet. I like that visualization anyway, you know, we are all one in the light of the Sun.
So what should we make, if anything, of the fact that a NASA satellite will be re-entering Earth’s atmosphere about the same time as the equinox? It’s a 20 year old satellite no longer used; I guess new technology has made it obsolete. Maybe it’s nothing, but transiting Mercury in Virgo will be squaring the Galactic Core in Sagittarius about that time and Mercury will be almost conjunct Makemake of Easter Island lore. Makemake was a creator god of humanity and, along with Mercury the messenger, in a difficult aspect to the GC there could be a message in the falling parts of the satellite we might not (as a whole ~ we are one) be ready and willing to hear. What if those parts were to land near Easter Island? After all, Osiris, the god of many parts, will be only 2 degrees away from Mercury in Virgo.
Then too, Pallas-Athene will be preparing to station direct in Capricorn at that same time and she is (and will be for many days) conjunct the U.S. Sibly Pluto. Mercury will trine the goddess (and US Pluto) and this is afterall, a US satellite. Pallas will probably, in her roll as protector, want to guard (US) Pluto’s secrets, and I read that “Members of the public are not allowed to keep pieces of the satellite that may fall to Earth, or sell them on eBay, as they remain the property of the US. government.”
Be that as it may, I would prefer not to be anywhere near the falling parts of anything from outer space or even a nearby open window. I’d prefer to get my growing consciousness through less tactile methods. Here’s a bit on that subject although there is probably something more recent by now.

With trans. Mars trine trans. Uranus in fire signs, and Uranus on the U.S. homeland nadir, you know, anything could happen!

How lovely, Len – and what a peaceful perspective.
Thank you.
