While Monsanto may be “vulnerable” in a Kansas wheat-growers’ lawsuit and has been overruled in Guatemala, illegal agriculture is not only endangering lives elsewhere in Latin America, but around the world. Meanwhile, global warming may leave some bird species unable to adapt; the California drought is bringing birds and mosquitoes together to spread West Nile virus (mosquitoes are the agents that spread it to humans); and the birds of Perdue — chickens — are receiving drastically less antibiotics these days.
