Wednesday: Sun square Uranus and the Short Leash

Dear Friend and Reader,

Today the Sagittarian Sun is locked in a square with Pisces-Uranus, creating a situation in which there is a strain between power and liberation. Robert Hand suggests a situation where the ego is at war with itself. In other words: what is it I am supposed to be looking like right now? What do I resemble? You may find yourself with many answers to this question and they may not all go together in a harmonious fashion.

Hand also suggests that this aspect can cause sudden disruptions in routine. Such interruptions can be translated into the system needing a little more flexibility, or the integrity of the system needing a change. It is usually the way with Uranus that things happen in a lightning quick manner: Uranus is the planet associated with Prometheus and electricity. Speed of thought and intellect are involved in this transit.

Like the Sun’s conjunction to Mars, there is an emphasis placed upon the dynamics of power during this time. My new bookshelf tenant Robert Pelletier, in his book Planets in Aspect, states that during this transit, a person will feel as though they should be allowed to do anything that they want to do. This combination of Sun conjoined Mars square Uranus feels to me like a rolling boulder of fire: a fast, heavy weight that carries a lot of release with it, but that suggests a lot of carelessness as well.

Isabel Hickey suggests that this transit is about learning to respect the differences in others as well as the differences within the self. Only by exploring these avenues and by pushing the envelope of what is appropriate at what time, what you like and what you do not like, and what is expected of you, can you learn about the power certain facets of existence have over you. For example, what does the past mean to you? How is it different to what the past means to a loved one?

Mercury conjoins the Galactic Center today as well, lending the differences between things a certain intuitive slant that may be very fruitful in the process of self-exploration.

Merry Met,

Genevieve

  1. Well, we don’t need to look very far to see people who think they can do anything they want to do, do we?

But then again, this has been going on awhile? Like the AIG spa day, the Big 3’s jet rides to dc. Gov Blago’s antics, W’s legacy creation, the violation of the Warren Act for the Chicago window and door refugee workers, Walmart workers staying on extra time without pay. I won’t even go to what has been happening in the microcosm I live in.

These people seem to be running into a wall called the law or in some cases ethics.

I sense the release in the people that are coming forward to dispute these atrocities. The strange thing is, that the faction above mentioned is so hooked into their reality they have become disconnected from the general population. I don’t think they see how obviously ridiculous their antics read.

And we allowed it to happen, hushed by the 911 unspoken vow to pretend that our leadership was strong. We took a wrong turn in their somewhere and it grew into a monster that is now imploding. And the roots of all of this can be traced back to the seventies? Or back through the generations to parents who wanted to give their children better (meaning more stuff)? That’s what I’m hearing.

And this part ain’t gonna be easy. But it’s starting. And it’s exciting. And we want it. But will we have to give up some of our stuff? Can’t even get there anymore.

In this swirl of chaos, I am feeling more sane, more grounded. In comparison, how couldn’t I? And I’m not alone.
