New edition of Planet Waves on its way to our subscribers.

By now you’ve probably seen or heard some mention of the incredible cardinal grand cross and grand water trine shaping up for April 23. That’s a lot of energy, a lot uncertainty and a lot of potential — and it’s all coming ‘home’, thanks to Jupiter in Cancer linking the two formations together. Eric explores this astrology piece by piece in today’s premium members’ edition of Planet Waves, along with the element brought in by retrograde Mars in Libra: a question of trust.

You can read all this and more — including the 12-sign extended monthly horoscopes for April — through a single-issue purchase. Or try a free one-month trial membership, and get Eric’s horoscopes and articles sent directly to your inbox each week, right up to April’s grand event.

  1. Such vital information, E. Thanks for making these stressful passages easier by giving us a lens through which to view them. And be, I can’t imagine a more Neptunian symbolism than the cross of the Piscean Era Christ awash in mist and surf! I’m going to give myself a quiet, gentle weekend … a long bubble bath in my future … and ponder it all.

  2. Well, I should restate that earlier remark then and say instead that as of now (8 PM EST) Neptune’s new degree symbol will be of a large cross lying on the rocks. Didn’t mean to confuse anyone.

  3. Hopefully I’m not repeating what’s already been discussed, but I see that the Sun will be conjunct Chiron’s discovery degree at the time of next month’s cardinal cross. On that day when Chiron was discovered, Eris was at 13+ Aries conjunct the south node and opposite the north node conjunct Pluto at 15+ Libra and they all squared the Moon at 12+ Cancer. This would be in addition to Ceres at 21+ Scorpio where transiting Saturn will be on April 23 and looks to reinforce the grand water trine theme of emotional security that accompanies the cardinal cross.

On the day of the cardinal cross Chiron at 16+ Pisces will square Chaos at 16+ Gemini who is conjunct Requiem at 15+ Gemini, among his aspects. I’m wondering if any of these degrees stand out in any important charts (besides the U.S. Sibly) we’ve seen lately. For example, Queen Elizabeth’s Pluto is at 12+ Cancer and Russia has Neptune at 13+ Capricorn and a Jupiter-Chiron conjunction at 15+ Cancer which might express Chiron and/or Pluto related events.

  4. Please note that because all the degree values of planets in the cardinal grand cross exceed 13, the operative Sabian symbols are 14 degrees of their respective signs.

The Sabians work on a “degree occupied” system. There is no 0th degree. The zodiac starts with the first degree.

Anything between 1 arc minute and 1 degree occupies the first degree. Anything from 1 degree, 1 minute to 2 minutes even occupies the second degree, and so on. This is the classical method and it is also explained in the introduction to An Astrological Mandala.

  5. Speaking of Sabian symbols, Neptune has just moved to the next degree; 6 Pisces 0, and here is that symbol from Dane Rudhyar’s An Astrological Mandala:
ILLUMINED BY A SHAFT OF LIGHT, A LARGE CROSS LIES ON ROCKS SURROUNDED BY SEA MIST. Neptune will leave this degree on April 22.

This is the degree where Mercury will conjunct Neptune tomorrow.

  6. 13 Cap: the degree between my Sun and Mercury. Sabian: a stained glass window broken in war. Well, the cracks let some light in…the groves the cathedral tried to replace are calling.

  7. I cannot thank you enough for these words, dear Eric, “I believe that trust is cultivated by exactly the opposite property: understanding what we can give to any situation. Trust and love are closely related; we tend to love what we nurture, whether it’s a child, a friend, a puppy or a home. One skill here is learning to properly nourish yourself, which will definitely help — but replacing this chilly quality of “what can I withhold?” with “what can I offer?” Yes, as Sarah said, an amazing edition. Love and thanks to you all.

  8. This is an amazing edition – worth the subscription price alone. These are challenging times for many of us, and your lead article frames it in a perspective that is wholly helpful – practically and spiritually. And it’s an astrology lesson to boot. Marvellous, and many thanks!

  9. Eric: Thank you for showing each of us individually, and all of us collectively, how to both perceive a monumental astrological event realistically and employ our individual and collective free will constructively so as to be the determining factor in our own destiny. May enough of us to make a difference “get” the simple truth of trust which you have convincingly set forth in this triumphant edition.

  10. I agree, the last degrees of Sun in Aries and first couple of degrees of Taurus seem to especially significant in our collective shadow – a real Achilles point that seems drenched in the blood of innocents… time of the potential for violent acting-out. So we are to be especially careful as we navigate this part of the river. This article is so well written and presented that I can feel the gift of being able to share it with other non-astrological friends and how that in itself could help to build the field of Radical Trust that is being called for now…. thank you everyone who helped craft this masterpiece.

A small note of synchronicity… the tiny yellow flower in the top photo is called “Coltsfoot” ( Tussilago farfara) and is the first flower to emerge in our Northeastern woodlands. I’m reminded that it is a symbol of Aries (first flower) as well as of our current year of the Horse ( the name is derived from the shape of the leaf which looks very much like the imprint of a small horse hoof) plus it was used as a healing herb especially for the respiratory tract (though it has recently been discovered to have properties that can cause Liver problems in some people). This plant seems to be a perfect choice to help illustrate your article!

May prayers for Peace, courage and radical trust be especially strongly woven at this time of profound change and may we each find tangible actions we can take in our worlds to ground the intentions of goodwill into this collective reality. We really need to be the change we seek.
