Dear Friend and Reader,
Last time we talked about Pandora, we learned that it is an energy that signifies unknown consequences, getting more than you bargained for and internalizing a promise for the purposes of growth. Now that she’s conjoined with Mercury, the communicator, it looks to me like a fitting title for this piece would have been something like: “Mercury conjoins Pandora, inserts foot into mouth.”
But seriously, Mercury is a fast moving, quick-witted energy. Conjoined with Pandora, the effects of speech can put a lot of emphasis on things that otherwise were left unsaid. It is a situation where honesty is a broken prop in the middle of a stage show — hard to ignore and shifting the third wall. This can be a great thing, though uncomfortable, if what it exposes is something no one wants to uphold anymore, or has been upholding so long that no one questions whether or not its right.
Today is a good day to count to ten before you say something that is absolutely yanking your throat chakra. Any catharsis that’s ready to be released deserves a little moment of silence before it’s let go. It’s like this: before you let out some kind of observation or some comment about something, say a private toast to yourself. Before you let someone’s words absorb into your psyche, say a silent prayer. Today is a day where you become a vessel of and for information. It’s a sacred place to be.
Usually when we witness, inflict, or experience embarrassment, it forces us to examine the ways in which we conduct ourselves within the framework of our culture. What is a taboo? Is it worth keeping? Does it work for you or does it constrain you? Some people use that feeling of embarrassment to guide them on a path that guarantees they are being as honest as possible at all times.
