Astrology Today: Oracle for Monday, October 14, 2013

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Scorpio weekly for Sept. 27, 2002

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

I’ve been emphasizing lately how your involvement with others is serving as a catalyst for their growth, though I haven’t mentioned that this may not be so easy for them. To the extent that you can identify with their changes you can ease the way for both of you, and also allow what this teaches you to cross several substantial hurdles with respect to your process of growing up, and we are all growing up. What surfaces this week may involve some data about how your mother’s treatment of you served to cement part of your psyche into childhood. The objective may have been to “get you to grow up faster” but such efforts rarely do anything but work in reverse. However, a whole lot of progress is imminent, as in, right about now.

Note, The Oracle is a random selection from the Eric Francis horoscope archives. Each day we publish one entry from among the 10,000 in our database. It’s a little slice of horoscope history — but chosen by our Oracle program, which always speaks to the present moment. New horoscopes are published each Friday plus twice a month in Planet Waves subscriber edition and Planet Waves Light.

  1. Thank you so much for posting the wonderful Scorpio piece, dear Nilou – so very helpful for me to read right now (an oracle within the Oracle!).
Bette, you say “Standing on my own, with the prospect of that remaining the story of the rest of my life, is not (yet, at least) something I gladly embrace”, sounds like you’re releasing so much stuff and changing so much – and hey, the wonder of life is that you can never know what the future might bring….!

  2. It was meeting a Scorpio who made me want to disrobe and change my whole life. I had never known such a beautiful woman before in my life. She was there for me through some pretty hefty transformations. It took so much to get her talking but much later, she thanked me for helping her get to know herself on a deeper level by my journey and the perspectives and questions I shared with her. I was so surprised by that.

  3. Thanks for the reference, Nilou – that would have been a post from before I came on board with PW.
Also, correction: Saturn’s current transit of Scorpio/my 5th is actually my third experience thereof. The first would have been around age 9, when I was uprooted from the hills/forests of an isolated farm & country schoolhouse, & had to attend a town school. I was miserable, & terribly lonely.

  4. Dear Bette, thank you for the thank you, but i can only accept thanks for note-taking and reposting. It’s from PW last year – i should have added a source.

  5. Thank-you, Nilou. With Scorpio intercepted in my 5th house (which also holds my Jupiter-Chiron conjunction in Libra), & moon & Venus in Scorpio, I can attest to much of what you say. This is Saturn’s second trip through this territory for me; in earlier years, I was inclined to pursue relationship in search of love/romance, though art/writing have been my greater gifts. This pass, I find myself intensely focused on the art, & in doing so, I must confront the deep taboos planted by my family, who forbade my studying/practicing art (though both were talented, they severely limited their own artistic expression).

There’s a lot of feelings/memory stuff surfacing. Yes, courage is called for – & discipline – & burning off/letting go those old prohibitions in my head.

Last Saturn run, I made the medically advisable decision to give up any chance of having more children. This time, I feel it’s the love/romance hope that may bite the dust. Standing on my own, with the prospect of that remaining the story of the rest of my life, is not (yet, at least) something I gladly embrace. I’m working on that, too.

I’ve known both positive & negative Scorpios, & a few who embody both extremes at times. It is formidable energy indeed.

  6. There is no greater power than the acceptance of loss.

Evolved Scorpios are awe inspiring because they flow with the cycles of loss and gain. They are the Zodiac’s free-divers. And this is the lesson that Saturn is coming to teach. Picture the energy of a black hole squeezed through the eye of a needle.

This can manifest as fear of profound change or focused transformation.

If you have planets in Scorpio you may experience this as an initial block against your power. You may push forward in your customary way only to find that you can’t go any further.

As Saturn’s transit progresses you can learn to accept these limits and exercise that Scorpio will with maturity.

This means accept what you cannot change and heal (rather than destroy or manipulate) what you can.

Remember the highest expression of power is healing through transformation.

So, yeah. This will be one intense transit.

Wherever Scorpio sits in your chart is where you lose it all and gain something else. It’s the Phoenix-from-the-ashes area of your life. Here’s what to do when Saturn steps in:

•Be prepared to lose something, even if it’s just your sense of control. Saturn will confront you with fears of loss, abandonment, powerlessness and betrayal. Note that the anticipation may be greater than the actual loss.
•Focus on what’s left. What can you do to heal yourself? How can you make the situation work for you?
•Hint: it will not involve obsessing over what you no longer have.
•Confront what scares you. This could involve deep intimacy, sharing and merging your resources (financial and emotional).
•Identify energy that you’ve directed towards stalking, controlling, manipulating or holding grudges. Take all that energy and point it in a direction that is brand new and does not involve control over someone else.

The highest potential of this transit is pretty spectacular.

Scorpio energy is potent but imagine what can manifest if it’s ultra disciplined and focused on the essentials: fearless intimacy, powerful healing, unstoppable drive.

If you’ve ever crossed paths with a truly fearless Scorpio you’ve felt their intense compassion and dedication. That’s real power.

Saturn’s transit of Scorpio will last from October 5th, 2012 to December 23rd, 2014.
