Dear Friend and Reader:
Just a few brief comments on the government shutdown. Like most people, you may be having difficulty tracking this issue; to me it looks like a government shutdown for its own sake. But it’s one that makes most building takeovers that I’ve covered seem mature, since most students know enough to focus on a few demands that can actually be met by the administration.
One of the ways you know that this situation is drama for its own sake is that the first demand (defund the Affordable Care Act) was not going to happen. By the time the government was shut down and the creeps behind this protest figured that out, the demands started changing — the current one being the promise of discussion of slashing social programs.
All the Republican talk of “jobs, jobs, jobs” has led to their blocking hundreds of thousands of people from being able to go to work. All the talk about supporting small business has been belied by the thousands of businesses hurt or destroyed by the shutdown.
A few things are bugging me. One is that the original pretense, how bad the ACA allegedly is, is not an issue that warrants this kind of radical intervention. Not, particularly, since it’s the affirmed law of the land. Our extremely conservative Supreme Court already approved it, after Congress voted it into law and the president signed it into law. If a small minority wants to take matters into their own hands, that is one definition of tyranny — and thankfully it’s become obvious.
If a minority of politicians are declaring the ACA unconstitutional, and saying that it’s illegitimate despite being approved by every branch of government, they must be citizens of some other country. The reward they have got, if you believe a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll published in the past 24 hours, is that the Republicans and the Tea Party have never been less favorably thought of, while popularity for Obamacare has never been higher.
That some politicians would take advantage of the disgraceful health-care situation, using it against people, even going so far as to try to convince women not to go for routine gyn exams, is authentically disgusting. Health insurance, at minimum, provides some thin safety net between a routine disease and going bankrupt. In no other advanced country besides the U.S. do people flirt with this fate — and it’s especially propbematic given the unemployment situation, when people have lost their jobs and their health coverage.
Another problem is the involvement of Dominionist religion in this crisis, and that seems to be significant. Personally I don’t have a good feeling about people who preach the end of the world, and they seem to be the ones calling the shots.
The Dominionist position is old hat: you accept our point of view or we will burn you at the stake. I don’t think these people have any proper role in government.
We also have what I will call a spiritual problem involving John Boehner, the speaker of the House of Representatives. He is not who he pretends to be, a dude from Ohio; to see what kind of entity he is one’s third eye needs to be open, and I don’t consider it safe to conduct this kind of inquiry because of the energies involved. In human form, he controls the flow of bills to the floor of the House of Representatives. This one entity has the power to choke off whether progress is possible; he can personally keep this going or let it resolve, and we have no reason whatsoever to trust him.
That this is essentially a spiritual problem means that we might find a spiritual solution. I think that Boehner must be a focal point. The meek integrity that is binding him to the physical plane appears to be weakening, but he still has some thrash and resistance left in him. Holding him in white light will help neutralize him, though he won’t like it as much as the synthetic UV rays his leathery, orange skin seems to devour in his tanning bed.
It’s true that our debt crisis is what has made us subject to this kind of blackmail and other forms of external control. It’s essential to see this for what it is — the debt itself is an intentional construction. At the end of the Clinton administration the U.S. was well on the way to paying down its debt and had eliminated the yearly federal budget deficit. Economically and in many other ways, things were going pretty well at the time.
Then came a stolen election; a false flag terrorist event; a series of tax cuts for the wealthiest few Americans; eliminating taxes on many of the largest corporations; a huge, unbudgeted, federally funded drug giveaway; a bloated national security state taking over nearly everything and occupying a billion square feet of office space; several very long, ongoing wars; and then a second 9/11, in financial form, allegedly requiring trillions in bank bailouts.
All these things have at least one common factor — they start under Cheney-Bush, and they got us into this position. And that is where we find ourselves — compromised, and in a sense, possessed.
The astrology lurking around is not all that encouraging. The federal shutdown has now been conflated with the debt ceiling issue. The debt ceiling is about the government’s ability to borrow money to make interest payments on funds that it’s already borrowed, and to meet some current obligations as well. Both could be resolved by simple, one-sentence acts of Congress.
Non-political federal budget officials say we hit the debt ceiling on Oct. 17, which is on the eve of a lunar eclipse, and just four days before Mercury stations retrograde. Depending on how you look at it, that combination of factors could represent a breakthrough or it could be a further descent into mire and chaos. We don’t know what would happen if the U.S. defaults on its obligations, since it has never done so.
As I’ve mentioned, the main U.S. chart, the Sibly chart, is under a lot of stress. That comes to a peak next April, when the grand cross including Mars retrograde in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, is focused to the degree around the U.S. Sun.
Many have wondered how we are going to wrest our country back from these bizarre interests that have nothing to do with the general welfare of the American people, or even the business community. It is a pressing question; we will be asking it for a while.
There is a simple political analysis here: many Republicans who would vote to get us out of this mess are going along with the mob because they don’t want to be “primaried” — that is, knocked out of their Republican slot by a candidate further to the right. So they put their own self-interest above the collective interest. Their federal job is more important than everyone else’s federal job — or the stability of the world economy.
Here we see the problem with self-interest and why, once again, this is really a spiritual crisis rather than a political one.
Lovingly,
Wonderful, DivaCarla. I’m with you. Connecting to whatever source of love we have and bathing the whole planet in white light might be a good idea on a day like today. Love and light, nilou

Since I think that all problems are spiritual at core, and require spiritual solutions underlying any practical action, I like this proposition.
What does it mean to hold someone in white light? Is it a critical mass of planetwavers and FB friends zapping him with white light for 10 mins at noon on Sunday? Or is it each of us — as many of us as possible — sending the white light periodically and regularly, so he is always getting a bath, being neutralized… (what might THAT look like? not my job to know)
I vote for the latter.
Now what is it really to hold someone in “white light”. I know what it isn’t. It is getting angry and thinking of him as an evil, power-grabbing, government-destroying, people-hating, lying, stealing son of a bitch cretin. That’s what I’ve been doing, and that kind of thinking feeds him.
Sweetness and light is not my style, so it’s neutralizing my own feelings, handing him and his power position over to divine, and visualizing that white light, even if it feels a bit cartoonish. I’d also need to bring in some of the other players that make me puke, like Cruz, Ryan, and …. SCOTUS??? Wouldn’t hurt to bring in the Dems too, radiating out of the Boehner focused light puddle.
Once that’s handled, the real work is in me and each of us. My work is to boldly live my truth, and do my work. If my work is prayer, I pray. If it is to help people heal, then I help people heal. If it is to make art, I make art. If it is to write and speak out the truth, including what I want my country and government to be like, then I write and speak the truth.
This sounds like Tom Joad’s monologue at the end of Grapes of Wrath.
The generators of the white light are the light workers, doing their work, out loud, visible, and accelerated. Do your work, and make it just a bit bigger than you think is appropriate. Be bold.
And with that, I have work to do.
Thanks for sharing this article publicly, Eric.
PS. Be, I get tickled at the picture of Boehner and the rest squirming in white light.
Oh dear, just when we were thinking things couldn’t get much worse.
Belarus leader says Obama surprises him, ‘blacks were slaves’

I am not a fan of Clinton and I did not intend for this article to be an analysis of his fiscal policies. He was complicit in a lot of bad stuff. However, some contrast between Clinton-Gore and Cheney-Bush policies serves a purpose. I believe that Cheney-Bush introduce an entirely new mode of governance and an entirely new agenda to the American political scene. The opening salvo was the fake impeachment of Clinton, which, whatever you think of Clinton, was not good for the country in any way that I can discern. A bigger deal was made of “getting the truth” about Monica Lewinsky than was made about getting to the bottom of many, many serious things that happened during Cheney-Bush.
I may not agree with everything said on this blog (for instance, Clinton contributed to the economic crisis by undoing the Glass-Steagall act with his acolyte Larry Summers, and I have a feeling his budget surplus was achieved in ways that were not durable), but I do appreciate different points of view, so long as my way of being is accepted.
However, even if I am a third party advocate, I do have to side up with the Democratic party so long as the Pluto in Virgo generation is in power for two reasons: 1. When the Republican Party politicians proposed to reopen parts of the federal government, they did not include the USGS or NOAA, two useful and important federal agencies that study natural hazards. So to me, the Democratic Party values the natural sciences more than the Republican Party does. 2. While the Democratic Party is a corporate, warmongering party, the Democratic Party believes that people need a social safety net to succeed. The Republican Party is a corporate, warmongering party that believes that people can somehow succeed on their own.
So right now, I am concerned about the Tea Party politicians’ intent to decimate social infrastructure. As a 7th house Virgo Sun, I need other people’s assistance to succeed.
My priority right now is to be able to have a government job in the natural sciences (local, state or federal), and a social safety net to be on a solid footing (affordable colleges, resume and cover letter advice etc.). I realize how passionate I am about the natural sciences, and I want to stay on this path…
In a few years, if the Pluto in Libra generation has better generational influences, I can go back to supporting the green party and being concerned about the Democratic Party’s inclination towards endless war and corporatism (in addition to depriving third party candidates of ballot access, gerrymandering, and the nasty party politics in the Democratic Party itself).
But right now, the type of career I want to have is at stake, and so are the means for me to succeed.
I definitely favor single-payer healthcare (Vermont passed that law, other states such as Minnesota are trying to pass it.) over Obamacare, but the opposition of certain politicians to Obamacare is so strong that the implementation of Obamacare in certain states is deliberately made more costly than in other states. A state’s allowal or rejection of Medicaid expansion is going to have a significant impact on the success or failure of Obamacare. Already there is quite a difference between Maryland and Virginia on that front.
The Democratic Party and the Republican Party have bad things in common, but when it comes to policies that serve the common good, the Democratic Party has an edge for now.
I don’t know of any so called “spiritual” person who would take EF’s own words and turn them into something unrecognizable. Then say theyre in the occult and contact entities?? Sounds like another pretentious Scientologist to me.
Forgive me for posting something so totally off-topic here, Eric, but judging from Be’s response last time, think this news is barely touched on in the US; yet another tragedy…

If commenter below is calling Barack “Barry” that is a dog whistle on a position he is not stating. I covered this in my Letter from Pres Obama on his Birthday last year.
Speaking of being born in Kenya, I have an update re the birth record of John Boehner — I have sitting here on my desk a certified copy of his birth certificate. Unfortunately there is no time stated. We have a second copy coming from another source (the local health department) and we shall see if there is a time on that one.
Craig, Eric has often criticized Obama and the like. I don’t think you’ve understood where Eric’s really coming from, I think he’s less attached to a system of belief (political or otherwise) than you are.
be: Thank you for the heads up about that clock. Please keep us posted if you get further information.
Craig? Don’t believe i’ve made your acquaintance, but please allow me to say i was moved by your impassioned eloquence. Next, please allow me to ask something. Would it not be better if people of good will (among whom, i’m sure you agree, both you and Eric are included) support each other even if they see different ways for good will to prevail?
That’s funny. . . . holding John Boehner in white light would probably make him squirm, or cry maybe. I get the feeling it is bizarre too, this situation, and yes, now that you say it, it is a spiritual crisis being played out; exaggerated like a puppet show in order to reach the widest audience perhaps.
I was intrigued by the stopped Ohio clock in the Senate building. Don’t know if it was 12:14 AM or PM but it was on Wednesday 10/9 and looking at a chart for PM, the Moon is exactly on the ascendant at 16+ Sagittarius, and she’s exactly sextile the Sun at 16+ Libra. I thought it was almost eerie that this chart was very similar the U.S. Sibly chart so that the planets fell in the same houses in both charts.
Since clocks are a Saturn instrument and Saturn was conjunct Mercury (and the north node), trine Chiron, sextile Pluto, quincunx Uranus, sitting in the 11th house and ruling the 2nd house, it seemed worth exploring his mode choice of communication.
Why is it called the “Ohio Clock”? Could it have anything to do with John Boehner? Boehner is a “leader” (Saturn) of a group (11th house) and he is emotional at awkward times (in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces), has done unexpected things (quincunx Uranus) like going against what he has said previously, and craves power (sextile Pluto). The 2nd house is about values and in this chart it is empty. A clean slate. Saturn is making a point about shared values in Scorpio but even bending toward a new approach (north node) by aspecting both the outer planets in the historical cardinal square and by utilizing his trine with Chiron (this may hurt for a while but in the end it will be worth it.) His decisions are making all of us think about things we value (Mercury conjunct Saturn and he rules the 7th house of partners (us).
For example, Venus is associated with values and here she rules the 6th house of health and services. At 12:14 PM on 10/9 she was in the 12th house (and would have been in the Sibly 12th house) of confinement squaring Neptune in the 3rd house (who would have been in the Sibly 3rd house) confusing communications. All the planets in this chart have classic aspects and most are very tight in orb. Only Mars, at 26 Leo 31 has no major aspect but he is opposite the U.S. Sibly Moon.
However, Mars at the time the Ohio clock stopped (if it was just after noon on 10/9) was making a septile (very irrational) to the Sun at 16+ Libra (acceptable orb since the Sun is allowed 1 1/2 degree) and making a quintile (very third eye) to the north node at 7+ Scorpio. With the Moon on the ascendant in a fire sign (Sagittarius) and Mars opposite the U.S. Moon in Aquarius, and the Sun (ruler of Leo where Mars is) in this chart sextiling the Moon exactly, I get the impression that the U.S. People are “fired up” which is inspiring them to think (Mercury) about their government system (Saturn) and how it must change for the future (north node).
Makes sense?

“Barry, Hillary, Harry and the Dems are the good guys, and Boehner, McConnell, Paul and the Reps are the bad guys”
I never wrote that, and it’s not my position. — efc
Please unsubscribe my address gala—@—. Thank-you.
As to your article’s fundamental position on the US government shutdown and your apparent need to point the finger of blame at the “elephants in the room,” I can only say that if you still see this country’s current condition, or our world at large, with this kind of “Us versus Them” mentality, Eric–in other words, that “Barry, Hillary, Harry and the Dems are the good guys, and Boehner, McConnell, Paul and the Reps are the bad guys”–then you, my friend, have a HELL of a long road ahead of you. I truly mean that.
Perhaps you just need to get out of NYC (and maybe off the pot) long enough to clear your head, in order to see what the rest of the world outside these shores can clearly see, many of whom have for a very long time. You speak of John Boehner as some sort of otherworldly Reptilian witch-doctor–and trust me, I’m no fan either; I’ve been an Independent, non-partisan, free-thinker for many years for good reasons, and have my own very real background with the occult world of spirit entities and the like–and yet you fail to see Obama in the same light or even with the same filters, of which he is absolutely equally deserving. This tells me you’ve been conned, suckered like so many other so-called “progressives” into doing the cheer-leading for the jackasses at the expense of your own professional subjectivity AND credibility. Honestly, I noticed this about you some time ago, which is precisely the reason I have until now allowed you your political email rants but taken them with a healthy grain of salt.
If anyone has a real, workable, common-sense approach to the healthcare crisis in America it’s the Independent Senator from VT, Bernie Sanders. I’d like to draw your attention to the bill he has sponsored more than once for Senate consideration on this very crucial issue. I’ve just sent the link which contains his most recent articles to dreams@planetwaves.net for your consideration. No other healthcare proposal being debated in Congress, nor the already authorized ACA–whose very constitutionality Chief Justice Roberts was clearly blackmailed into upholding (most likely with the complicity of the NSA et. al.), along with his other implicitly criminal colleagues on the High Court–is either affordable or morally justifiable.
Common sense all by itself will tell any reasonable person that forcing people who cannot afford it to buy insurance or face fines and imprisonment for non-compliance is against common law itself, upon which this Republic’s Constitution was drafted. And until the individual pursuit of health, well-being, and thus affordable healthcare are considered a right and not a privilege in this country, then you’re right Eric, this political debate is futile. Just as the idea of a (fundamentally corrupt) two-party system is anything but ethically bankrupt and rotten to its greedy core–not to mention spiritually void.
Politicians from both major parties are “chosen” BY Big Business to serve the interests of Big Pharma, the AMA, and the Insurance Lobbies. The idea that the populace actually has a choice at the polls is one of the oldest and darkest illusions of them all. Period. You live in NYC–have you never seen Wicked? Hello! And these same insurance companies and their minions will continue the fight to deny coverage to the poorest of the masses until this power is rested from their blood-soaked hands.
And unless people who allow themselves to be mouthpieces for one political party or another see their blind faith for what it truly is, there can surely be no hope for humanity to transcend this age-old struggle of terrestrial duality and venture into the unknown–or should I say long forgotten–realm of unity consciousness that awaits Gaia’s integration into the greater galactic neighborhood. You’re correct again, Eric, this is a spiritual issue. And you don’t have to be a shape-shifting extra-terrestrial with a hotline to the dark stars above to be a pawn in this public spectacle we call American politics. As long as you choose to play this blame game, you remain merely one of their subjects, and heaven help the fool, as the old saying goes.
Frankly, it perplexes me quite often even these days how easily otherwise intelligent and “free-spirited” individuals like yourself remain trapped in this duality-based mentality and dare to call themselves conscious or aware. And I am not saying this to be a prick or pick a fight. I’m not. Heaven knows you and I have had our share of disagreements in the past, Eric, but I never thought I’d be receiving the kind of “deep thoughts” email from you like the one I’m now replying to. Not in a million years. It sort of begs the question what kind of fears are at the root of such a staged attack against one party or another. They’re all to blame for this sick charade. It’s just a matter of hair-splitting degrees at this point. The complicit mainstream media (and apparently alternative, as well) do not help matters, either.
So I’ve said my peace for tonight and certainly do welcome your feedback. But more than this, I hope you find the courage to move beyond your current alliance with your party of choice so as to recognize that the truth always lies somewhere in between. And as Ben Harper says quite eloquently in Waiting on a Sign, “There are so many sides to the truth/but only one side to a fact.”
I wish you a golden harvest of great joy and wisdom on your journey, Eric Francis, and know that one day you will look back and realize that I and countless others have chosen the independent path for good reason. For when you owe allegiance to no one, only then can you call yourself truly free. Herein lies your “spiritual question”. May it bear ripe fruit for you and yours.
Peace, my brother, and many thanks for your generous trigger. Much appreciated. 🙂
Craig
Thank you, Eric, for the general release of this vital piece. It is a generous act of service to sanity and the truth.
