  1. I was recently at Thammasat University, in Thailand, for 2 Accounting Electives on Globalization.
    One of our assignments recommended we use ”The World is Flat” for further reading.
    The reality is that with the formation of ASEAN (5 counties banded up to create harmonization) the poorer countries like Myanmar, Cambodia etc will be better placed to increase their standard of living. Thailand has already increased their minimum wage rate to $10 per day, which is a very good increase for their standard of living.
    The logistics: ports and train systems are developing at a faster rate across these countries, reducing taxes and tariffs
    Thailand as opposed to China is where manufacturing is seeing fast progress.
    In a few short years 90 million Indonesians will also see an increase to their minimum wage, bringing them out of poverty into middle class.
    90 million Indonesians + 60 million Thai will want goods and services.. catching up with the rest of the world.
    A global distribution of wealth will shift significantly within the decade
