Like Smoking a Cigarette Above a Tank of Gasoline…

Editor’s Note:В With the mind-numbing game of вЂ?will she, won’t she?’ over the past two weeks, you may have missed the announcement late Friday night that Hilary finally accepted the position for Secretary of State. In this article, Genevieve Salerno and Eric Francis write about Hilary’s chart, why she couldn’t quite make it to the Presidency and how she’ll do as the right-hand lady of Barack Obama. Eric wrote a larger article examining Hilary’s chart two years ago, which we’ll post later this evening. –RA

Dear Friend and Reader:

We covered Hilary’s astrology two years ago, when she was first mentioned as a presidential candidate. There is a controversy about her birth time; I believe she’s skewed the time to throw astrologers off the scene, but if you do that you really don’t understand astrologers or astrology.

I am partial to the Gemini rising, late Pisces Moon chart for several reasons; these very late degrees, particularly the last, have a feeling of clinging to the edge. They represent a kind of “almost” quality. Hillary is not an innovator; she is very much a follower. The Pisces Moon is Hillary’s property of trying to be anything to anyone; she morphs her character to fit the situation.

Gemini is rising in the last degree. This puts the last degree of Sagittarius in her 7th house, and that is precisely where Pluto is transiting right now. Pluto on the 7th (and square her Moon, both of which have been happening simultaneously) suggest that she is at the end of a very long phase of existence and transitioning into another.

In a 2006 article on Clinton, Eric mentions her Mars, Pluto, Saturn conjunction in Leo:

The thing about Leos is that they do a great job being in charge. In other words, if you’re a boss, find out who the Leos on your staff are. They are probably the ones who already have a grip. They key to keeping most Leos happy is more responsibility. They need to have the feeling that the buck stops with them. There are exceptions to this guideline; Leos who consistently flake out do so either because they are not rising to the occasion, or because they have other factors in their chart which prevent them from being effective, and even these can be worked with. Even these ones can aspire to be the boss, despite their sense of inadequacy or whatever may hold them back.

Hillary, with Mars, Pluto and Saturn in Leo, definitely qualifies. Note that they are in her 3rd house; what she is (or thinks she is) the boss of is what everyone else thinks. Indeed, any one of these three planets would work fine, placed in this house and sign, to make somebody kinda bossy. But this babe is going at full throttle. She makes Bruce Springsteen seem like The Underling.

Now remember, Hillary is not a Leo, but she has a stellium (cluster) of planets there and they all have to do with driving force (Mars and Pluto) and authority (Saturn). Interestingly enough, those are three planets that Obama does not have in his Leo stellium, which includes Uranus, Ceres and the North Node. The sign itself also contains his Sun and Mercury.

Of note also is Hillary’s Sun square Obama’s Mercury. This could create a situation of constant questioning and second guessing. A plus is that it will force them to become well-rounded and their ideas well-researched and defended.

I also pulled out my favorite tome of guilty pleasure, Linda Goodman’s “Love Signs.” It’s good for a lot of things, especially considering the basic flavor of combining Sun signs. According to Goodman, Scorpio-Leo relationships fall into the 4-10 category. What this means is if you put Scorpio in the 1st House, Leo will be on the 10th House of the King or Higher Role.

If you put Leo on the 1st House, Scorpio will be on the 4th House of the security base and the home. The security base and the house of the king are highlighted in this relationship. Their Suns, as I mentioned before, are square to one another, as are their Moons. Well…it’s going to be an interesting relationship to say the least. Goodman elaborates: “If these two play down the personal element, and keep their mutual endeavors centered on abstract goals outside themselves, they can operate as a smooth unit, a formidable threat to outsiders who try to conquer them by smothering Leo’s fire or making waves in Scorpio’s water.”

Formidable. That’s a good word for it.

Chad Townsend, a Planet Waves correspondent, points out that Hillary’s Mars-Pluto is conjoined to Obama’s Leo Sun. So we’re talking about another powerhouse near (if not in) the Oval Office, should she choose to accept this role. And Pluto for her has just crossed into her 7th house. There’s a good chance she’s going to accept the proposal and when she does, it might be good to trade in your hat for a helmet.

Merry Met,

Genevieve, Eric Francis and Chad Townsend

  1. The buck stops at Obama’s desk? And formidable is good.

Oh crap, another acquaintence story. It’s all so personal experience. So I’m a communicator, here goes.

Michael Eisner was interviewed on some tv media wave. When he was questioned about his success, he said he kept no “yes men” on his team. He wanted what they saw. So intent and honesty as applied to the group goal is good.

When the election was all done and over I thought I understood Hillary’s lack of participation in Obama’s campaign, much to the dismay of her supporters. A new wave was roaring through the country and right over the top of her. Her day was done and she knew it. Long before we did. Perhaps I give her too much credit, time will tell.

The Obama is a force. Everytime his opposition stepped forward to thwart him, I cringed thinking oh no now he is going to go down, cuz I wanted his ideology to succeed. But everytime he came back and dealt with it calmly.

One of the marvelously wonderful transitions I experienced was that of Chris Mathews during this campaign. He didn’t just play with it and back down like Scarborough but followed through with it. I think he kinduv experienced the same thing I did with the shots at Obama until one day he said this is like Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Fudd just couldn’t outsmart the wabbit.

And as MSNBC ratings soared, they ran with it rivaling Stewart and Colbert.

If Hilary and Obama share ideology and intention, formidable team they can be. In the end, for me, it is a test of Obama’s leadership skills. And I watch and learn.
