Weekend Astrology: A Fishy Moon

Note: Yesterday I stated that Venus square Chiron is exact today; it is actually exact Saturday at 9:50 pm EDT, though an aspect like this is warming up and noticeable well in advance. –efc

Today the Moon is in late Aquarius, making a conjunction to Nessus. This is a caution to watch the emotional and psychological dynamics in your environment. This is a particularly sensitive aspect, and while you’re feeling like you have a right to be offended you could easily offend someone else.

Moon conjunct Chiron at 5:37 pm EDT Friday. Because Venus and Chiron are in aspect, the Moon squares Venus at the same time it conjoins Chiron. This suggests being conscious of emotional neediness based on a sense of hurt.

At its essence, Nessus is about stopping the cycle of abuse on any level where you might find it. It may end up being the saint of nonviolent communication. For now, think of Nessus as “the buck stops here.” Translated into terms that the Moon conjunct Nessus in Aquarius could relate to, you’re responsible for your own emotions, and for your contribution to group dynamics.

The Moon ingresses Pisces just past midnight EDT, where it makes a conjunction to Neptune, a quincunx to Mars and then makes many other aspects through the day Saturday: it’s a busy day, with the Moon making an aspect to every planet, just about, but Saturn. So while typically the Pisces Moon would be mellow, laid back and tending toward sangria, today’s Pisces Moon has a more excited feeling, pumping lots of imagination.

The Moon conjunct Neptune followed by Moon conjunct Chiron (exact Sunday) is a caution about believing something that’s not true — then getting hurt by it. The Moon is square Venus at the same time it’s conjunct Chiron. Moon square Venus is one of those those aspects that can emphasize the need for affection; if you’re feeling needy, find a constructive way to identify your actual need and get it met. It would be easier to chill out and have fun, and it’s possible.

Speaking of fun, this setup is a caution about letting go of whatever might happen under the influence of alcohol — remember that the rules of social behavior are different for ‘drinking’ and ‘not drinking’ states, and forgiveness of gaffes made in the ‘drinking’ state is considered socially acceptable. (The way one anthropologist explained this, you cannot put the lamp shade on your head at your boss’s house, but if you’re drunk at his Christmas party, that’s considered a valid excuse.)

I’m not suggesting that alcohol actually be an excuse (though it’s often used as such), only that you be mindful of how it might be a factor (Moon-Neptune-Pisces), and what the usual rules are around it.

In other news, I already mentioned the combination of Mars in Libra, simultaneously with Venus square Chiron, though it’s worth a fast recap.

Mars has entered Libra, a placement that will stir the pot in relationships. The possibilities include the burning desire to get in or out of a relationship, to establish your independence within one, and/or to see the extent your identity is invested in a partnership. It’s one thing to be invested; your identity is another matter.

At the same time, on Saturday Venus forms a square to Chiron (in effect now). This is more about sex and less about relationships, though it does involve the ruler of Libra, which is Venus. So there does seem to be a tipping point involved: are you making a decision of some kind? Are you making a commitment to yourself? Are you admitting what you really want? If so, you’re right on time, though the astrology doesn’t add up to a fairy-tale — more like an adventure where the author doesn’t know the outcome of the story.

  1. I found this moon has very inspiring Neptune meeting, making a double meeting home with the moon rose.

I knew not at all what I was going to write on my blog as often and suddenly after having installed me in front of my computer, I look at the map of asteroids and I see my scoop that I could not forgotten after a wait of several months.

I have the Sun/Neptune conjunction in my card it is said that the appointment of the Moon and Neptune create a particular attraction in my life…

This weekend there will also be a conjunction Mars and Pandora…. thank you Eric and good weekend to you 🙂

  2. “Translated into terms that the Moon conjunct Nessus in Aquarius could relate to, you’re responsible for your own emotions, and for your contribution to group dynamics.”

    Yep.

  3. Actually Huffy, you may be right on target of topic. Moon is conjunct Nessus (poison) in Aquarius (mankind, technology). Also, Mercury (communication) sextile Venus (valuable) are forming a yod with Pluto (destruction) right now, both being quincunx pluto. Heard part of this on the news, but now I will go to your site and check it out. Many thanks for the warning shot.

  4. Had quite an emotional morning with my eldest son…again! He’ll be 18.
It was teetering on all bad until he came to me, after about an hour, sat on my lap and initiated a more positive rapport. And now it’s all good. 2 Sagg’s, he & I !

  5. I guess that explains why one of the men at the pool was pretending the water from the two water guns were coming out of his nipples. Everyone was drinking from the watermelon keg.

  6. Yes, I have been dealing with issues exactly like this and am glad to know the astrology is forcing the issue. Just today I commented on needing help to re-arrange bedroom furniture but added the caveat that “fixing” the bedroom was tantamount to saying I was ready for a different relationship than the one that’s been on stall for a couple of years. This weekend I will spend time with my siblings who tend to sting me with the same sort of barbs that mother would have flung.

The plan? Breathe deep. Focus on what I know I want and leave the edges fuzzy enough for fate to intervene. After all, a different relationship doesn’t necessarily mean the partner is traded for a new one, does it?

  7. Credit Huffy for Ericle and Paola for Oraclen. Good stuff, ladies! Buon fine settimana; vi voglio bene!

  8. haha Ericle! That’s what my 4th grade teacher used to call me! I forgot until now. Her name was Ursula Fennely. She was really, really old and shaky but she was RAD. She had a 4th grade class read 1984.

  9. Ericle! So timely and true. Already facing these exact challenges and holding onto the idea of nvc with my fingernails at the moment. but, hey, progress is progress, however imperfect.

  10. Eric: Thank you so much. With the Moon moving from an Aquarius conjunction to Nessus to being “out of aspect” to Saturn, the message is clear – each one of us who are aware of this astrology must strive to be the mature and responsible person in any situation we face over the weekend. Being the adult in the room will be the best way to be of service to all.
