It may be disconcerting being so closely confronted by your sense of vulnerability, injury or weakness, but there’s also a lot of power in it. What is happening now is only serving to raise your awareness of issues that were already there, and is in fact a testament to how far you’ve come in your understanding of yourself. While there is normally a risk in being preoccupied by the past, now and through the autumn are highly appropriate times for a review. The key to doing this in a productive way will be looking at every situation from as many perspectives as you can: from those of other people, from how you would have hypothetically viewed your current life at different points in your history, and through the eyes of more objective friends. Well, okay, not exactly objective, especially if you’re asking now; they are likely to have some strong viewpoints.
