Halfway between eclipses at the Hotel 2012

Today’s first quarter Moon in Virgo marks the halfway point between the annular solar eclipse in Gemini on May 20 and the partial lunar eclipse in Sagittarius on June 4. Have you noticed any shifts in your inner landscape, or in the dialogue with your inner twin?

We’re also one week and one day from Venus transiting the Sun (a conjunction in which Venus will actually be visible against the face of the Sun) and the third Moon-Pluto occultation (basically the Moon passing directly in front of Pluto, which we cannot see anyway). If that sounds like a lot of eclipse-type events in a short span of time, well, it is. We could call it a wake-up call from the front desk of the Hotel 2012 – also known as the Maya Motor Lodge; take your pick.

You can’t really ‘miss’ this call the way you can sleep through checkout and miss the continental breakfast – so there isn’t much point in getting freaked about over making sure you do the exact perfect thing during each of these events. It’s a process, and you’re in the flow right now – but your active engagement makes a difference.

The idea at this point is to keep everything moving. That’s what first quarter Moons are good for: pushing whatever projects you’ve begun to the next level, expanding plans, doing the leg work, turning the corner on whatever may have paused just before the weekend. Note this is a Virgo Moon. Virgo has a strong theme of service. Are you being called on to step up for some greater cause? In a sense, we all are, though for some it’s a little clearer than others where their unique gifts are needed. Listen for the “aha” moments, when you realize that something you do well is exactly what a situation needs – and then trust that you wouldn’t hear the “aha” if you weren’t capable now – no matter what the mental gremlins say.

The planet Chiron is closely allied with Virgo. So if you’re trying to move any kind of healing process (physical or otherwise) deeper, taking some action today should help. Remember, quarter Moons are a square between the Sun and Moon (in this case, Gemini to Virgo), and the tension of a square is resolved best through action. Virgo’s traditional ruling planet is Mercury, which can lend the sign a tendency to get caught on the mental plane (by those gremlins!).Even one step in a direction (or one step in each of two directions – Gemini is hot right now) is better than running down your mental to-do list all day.

Helping with the action piece is Mars, still moving direct in mid-Virgo. The Moon makes a conjunction to Mars right after it squares Mercury in Gemini. In other words, the Sun and Mercury will spark the idea to move forward on that feeling (Moon) that you need to serve or heal something, and then the Moon amplifies the drive and desire of Mars so you can actually get it going.

It’s a pretty brilliant setup, actually, and perfect for the middle of an eclipse period – especially one that will serve as a direct on-ramp to the first exact contact of the Uranus-Pluto square in just less than a month. Right now, the universe wants us to keep moving, to trust our capabilities, and to keep working on healing our inner splits and dualities, a la retrograde Venus transiting the Sun next week. The pace is picking up here on Earth; as mentioned, there’s really no way to sleep through it. Come late June at the Evolution-Revolution Inn, you won’t need to request that wake-up call – Uranus and Pluto are more than happy to oblige, and they have your room on speed-dial.

[Note: You can get more insight into the Venus transit and this hot spring astrology for your particular sign in both the 2012 Spring Report and the 2012 annual edition, if you have not already.]

P.S. If you’re getting excited about the Venus Transit and want some historical insight on the circumstances of viewing them over the last few centuries, Carol Van Strum has reviewed two book on the topic here.

  1. On Monday there were many delays of trains in France affecting more than 10,000 travellers. Disturbances caused by a series of suicide after is on the rails just before the passage of a train.
Monday I had addressed the problem of the SNCF another angle, without knowing that there was this tragedy. Normally the SNCF is arler it during mercury retrograde phases in its position in Gemini in conjunction with the South node under a first quarter moon then its square to March the accident that challenges all in question. Mercury in Gemini symbolizes the small displacement, traffic… The SNCF is responsible to repay much of travellers who have been penalized ar this fortuitous event….
I find that there a lot of energy in space

This is my participation in this article when I found the first time I couldn’t find not that I could write and this is

  2. Eric, thanks for the audio astrology update! You talk fast, but many truly revealing connections… about father especially. Thank you again. Those insights can change a life.

  3. “Is she using a diversionary tactic. . getting us to look at her so as to take our attention away from something else?”
Yes, she wants you to focus on the value of Divine ILLUStrator vectors (which I’m sure includes sacred geometry), and stop focusing on the Photoshop pixels (which is a bunch of squares that create an ILLUSion).
How do I know? Venus rx conjunct Sun, in Scorpio, in the 9th house of Sagittarius.

  4. Thank you, sweet Be! Love your post, really helps with the soldiering on through these days. As you so rightly say, “I wish I could put my finger on it, but I guess we all have to stay with the process and let it play out before we can see the full picture; the reason why we get up out of bed and carry on with our duties and responsibilities”. The words keep coming back to me, choose lightness, choose love, choose laughter – over despair, victimhood, resentment – and that seems to be a vital part of the transformation. We’re waiting for something to happen in the future, when it’s already taking place perhaps.

  5. I just wanted to stay in bed too Huffy-Huggy. But you did get up and you did have your annual interview, and you did not let unbridled honesty spoil your mission. Good work.

There is something about that Venus-VISIBLY-passing-in-front-of-the-Sun action that is gnawing through my thoughts these days. She’s not obscured; not totally lost in the brilliance of the Sun. She’s making sure you and I and eveyone else stays focused on her and what she represents to us. I wish I could put my finger on it, but I guess we all have to stay with the process and let it play out before we can see the full picture; the reason why we get up out of bed and carry on with our duties and responsibilities. Perhaps it’s the Virgo Moon that makes me want to sort out the steps of her journey; at this point she is retrograde (never a fun time in my experience), so she can’t be at the start of a cycle can she? Yet she will conjunct the Sun so that’s always the beginning of a cycle, isn’t it? Is she using a diversionary tactic. . getting us to look at her so as to take our attention away from something else? Is there something else going on simultaneously that might suffer if exposed too soon? I’m always a teeny bit suspicious of anything Gemini, adorable though it may be. . clever, witty, entertaining, flirty, unlikely to be pinned down to any one decision or choice, always keeping options open. . . . .

The south node is in Gemini, along with the Sun and Mercury and Venus, and it is accompanied by Altjira, the Creater God of the Dreamtime, and the enchantress Circe whose potions change things into something else. Could this be the reason it so hard to get out of bed these days? Is something happening in our dreaming that is changing us? Our habits or our routines? Something that needs to be released but is so much a part of our daily lives that it must take on a different “look” in order to be let go? Maybe something you have always been comfortable with now looks or feels uncomfortable and this is telling you to let it go. Maybe our sleeptime is the only way or the best way to get us to move forward in the process.

Venus may be forefront in our conscious lives and retrospective thoughts about what is important and of value, but it is a team process and other forces are at work to transition us from what we have been to what we will be. I say Stay The Course and be guided by your sleeping dreams as well as your conscious dreams, and remember Neptune is now in Pisces!

  6. Thanks Sarah, sweetheart! I love the ‘huffs, huggy’ – made me roar. Got through the interview without punching the director on the nose – though I managed to get in a couple of cheeky, underhand remarks – am very good at passive aggression – when it’s not wise to be upfront. And hey – haven’t been re-reading the Power of Now for nutting – time to drop it all and chill, man.

  7. All my natal planets are squaring and clashing, sun is in 12th, just before my sun. I just want to stay in bed – but I have to do my annual interview this morning(to renew my yearly contract), with the director of the uni, where I have my other, teaching job – which also has work conditions that suck (though I love teaching the kids) – and I just want to tell the jerk what I think of him . but that wouldn’t pay my rent. Sorry guys – pretty black today.
